This is historical!!
I need to see Tim Drake with a Kid so much. MAKE THAT BOY A SINGLE PARENT.
A kid knocks on his door and says “I know what you are”.
Tim thinks he’s being pushed out of the closet.
The kid has a picture of Red Robin slipping through Tim window’s.
Tim lets him in.
The kid looks him dead in the eye and says “I think you need a sidekick”
Tim has a Deja vu so hard he ends up saying yes out of shock. He keeps the kid though, that’s his son now and he’s gonna protect that little shit like his life depends on it.
Who cares if Tim is 19 and the kid is only 7 years younger? He’s son shaped so he’s gonna be son.
Hey y’all I need some gifs preferably about Tim drake angst and the Batman kinda realizing that they fucked this kid up if you got some lmk also this is like my first time using tumblr so no clue if it doing it right
Y'all hear me out again..
Batfam x neglected P5 Joker!M Reader
Reader gets sent to Bruce because of the assault incident and has to complete the rest of his high school years while living witht he Wayne's.
And let's be honest the things that happens in Peronsa 5 seem like that things that would happen in Gotham😭😭
Like when you really think about it, IT WORKS SO WELL TOGETHER.
Plzzz somebody @ me is y'all make this😩😩
i wanted to put something here about how i love his hair but my brain is saying to put “blue eyes white dragon”
:)
I firmly believe that the batfam would be a half-decent family to be adopted into while not knowing about their Nighttime Activities TM... at least in the beginning.
Lets say that Kiddo gets dropped off after the death of their last guardian (mother, most likely) and somehow the cops get their hands on a letter or something that says that Kiddo is Bruce Wayne's biological child. CPS wouldn't DNA test a child otherwise, but with some sort of evidence they may. Either way, something tells me that as soon as Bruce was notified of the possible child he would get the test done lol. While that processes the kid would end up in foster care (yikes! Gotham foster care is def rough af) whether Bruce is a foster father or not (that sounds like a problematic placement and he'd probably have to pull strings if he wanted to take care of them during this time). So, for 3-14 days an already traumatized, possibly orphaned child waits in limbo in a cesspool of a foster system. Trauma on top of trauma. And then the results come back and Yay! You've got a daddy!
So they pack up everything and go live with the People's Billionaire who they have definitely seen scandals of on the news before. Can you imagine the thoughts going through their head at the time? Are the other kids gonna bully me? Does he even want biological kids? Is he abusive? Neglectful? Pervy?? Does he really drink that damn much and fall in that many damn fountains?!?
And then they'd meet him and he'd be... stoic? And awkward and kind of cold? Which they could definitely take wrong (Bruce is emotionally inept, not malicious) and assume he hates them off the bat. They withdraw, straining themselves and the barely-there relationship more. The ink's still fresh on their adoption and they already want to leave.
Anyway, lets say things pick up. They meet Dick, the emotional center of the household, and then Jason, their caring (if abrasive) older brother, and so on. They start to find their place. Maybe they still struggle to warm up to Bruce or really feel like on of his kids, especially since everyone else seems so comfortable.
But Dick invites them to get ice cream and burgers and whatever else just as an excuse to spend time with them and make sure they're adjusting well (or enough to be expected). Jason teaches them to punch and how to finally get A's on the English assignments, and how to actually like their English assignments. He buys them fancy bookmarks and they pretend not to notice that he has the same one (they match!). Tim comes to them whenever he finds out a new fact he thinks they'll like and lets you pull coffees out of his hands without too much complaint after he's surpassed his daily limit (he only gives a grumble and an affectionate look) Cass teaches Kiddo all the best places to hide during hide-and-seek and pulls you into her side during movie nights. Cass makes sure you always have someone to eat with if them want it and brings back food whenever she's out. After some work, Damian even lets you help him train Titus!
But they still can't quite settle in because... where did everyone go at night?
If Kiddo's home situation before wasn't exactly ideal then they'd be a light sleeper, which is how they'd wake, and if not it's because they go down for a glass of water or something and see way too many bedroom doors open and beds empty on their way. Either way, after living with people for so long they'd catch on.
They notice that every single person in the household had been unaccounted for at some time. Every single one of their siblings plus both adults in the house were getting together every night to do something without them.
The realization was like a stone at the bottom of their stomach. And so, they start to pull away.
And everyone notices.
Tim and Jason are currently in a tentative truce/alliance, and despite their history their loyalty to this truce is locked the fuck down. they REFUSE to wrong the other or partake in any kinda shenanigan bullshit that could effect the other, to the point where while at first the others were just relieved the two were bonding after their colourful first start, at this point they’re just concerned about the closeness of the two most feral members of the family; wondering if this alliance should be something to fear.
the reason for this alliance, is because both Tim and Jason realised very shortly after coming into contact with each other that neither of them has any sense of self control when it comes to being spiteful or petty. Jason has had 90% of his will to give a fuck and his self preservation stripped away from him via Lazarus pit and the other 10% clearly didn’t exist anyway(see: stealing Batman’s tires and hitting him with a tire iron when caught). Tim meanwhile is completely feral regardless; he had to have no boundaries to survive with less-than-present parents and surviving a grieving Bruce’s version of Robin-training. plus the whole business with the LOA and Ra’s? his sense of escalation got lost in the fray years ago.
the issue with this, the two found out shortly after Jason first started interacting with the kid, is that them fighting in any way starts to become like a pushing-two-magnets situation. neither of them have ever come across somebody with as little sense of control as they have, so neither of them ever consider backing down from any kind of battle or feud. they find the dangers of this when Jason trips Tim in the hall and within 12 hours it’s escalated to Tim shooting a bazooka into Jason’s favourite safe house while Jason sets fire to Drake manor, framing Tim for insurance fraud in the process.
any kind of battle of spite between the two has no visible end, and it wont even occur to either of them for a second to back down or apologise, simply because fuck it amiright?
Alfred finds them one day in the kitchen engaging in a ‘water fight’ with special metal water-guns that spew acid. Jason has been stabbed at some point, and is bleeding onto the floor. He only seems to recognise this injury in the perimeters of using it against Tim by swiping the blood across the floor to make him slip. Tim has barbed wire in his hair and a clearly dislocated shoulder but he’s ice skating in that blood towards Jason without a single beat missed. Alfred gets them to stop specifically to clean up his goddam kitchen, and, while they guiltily clean, he finds out the root cause of this fight.
the night before, Tim stole Jason’s pencil. that’s it.
slightly terrified for the well-being on his grandsons, he spends the rest of the day acting as a peace-maker/lawyer to draft up an ‘alliance contract’ between the two, knowing that the only way to keep them safe from both themselves and each other is to make them a team, forever and unbreakably loyal towards each other. it takes a sleepless night to draft up all the details but he convinces the two to sign it, making it both a bat-pact, a blood-pact, and a legal document. it is the most important document in the manor, and Alfred hides it in his own personal quarters just to ensure it is kept safe.
because of the contract Jason and Tim are no longer allowed to engage in any kind of fight. any kind of disagreement, no matter how little, must be brought to Alfred, something he knows he’ll lose sleep over but at least Tim and Jason will be safe- it also gives them incentive to compromise with each other because if they don’t then one of them will have to wake Alfred up in the middle of the night just to ask which one of them gets the last of the cereal. they have to become a duo, loyal to each other first and foremost and always reliable enough that the other can turn to them in need. it becomes a very serious deal, and after realising the danger their fights could potentially put the family in(Tim tried to poison Jason’s food once but failed to account for Dick stealing Jason’s food like a normal big brother would), they decide they need to take this alliance up with the upmost sincerity.
for the good of Gotham.
nobody else in the family is sure as to why the fuck ‘team red’ suddenly became such a constant rock-hard alliance between the two brothers, but Alfred has never been more relieved.
Quick question does anyone know a fic where the bat kids find out that Bruce truly believes that they don't care about him they would be better off without him and if he were to disappear tomorrow they were just blink and move on and he accepts this as if it was 100% true because to him it is he doesn't see himself Worthy of being in their lives but he still loves them unconditionally even if they never return it and feels lucky for no matter how much time they allow him being there. Whatever time they give him he cherishes because to him it's just a matter of time when they decide they don't want to even look his way anymore and he doesn't blame them if that ever comes. The bat kids having to come to terms that their dad thinks that they don't care about him and that's if he was drop dead they would be better off because they wouldn't have to deal with him anymore. And it clicks for them when their dad gets so excited and brightens up a bit when they want to be around him that they're actually giving him the time of day because to him those are the small lights he has in his life the rare and fleeting moments of his kids actually wanted to be around him and not running off to ignore him or not be in the same room or the same house as him anymore he holds on to those moments so tight that if they were glass they would be shattered in his hand.
So this is an itch that I have found a few fic but not quite and I need something like this if anyone has an idea of a fic that is close to this Drop it Down Below in the comments so others including myself can go read them yeah thank you much
I just need some fics where this it the concept or the kids and Alfred finding out they are the reason he is still here. Then freaking out because what do you mean the man who seems so unshakable was that close to ending it Then if we were just slightly off when I had time we wouldn't have him anymore. Because what if they were just a few minutes late could they not have their dad/son anymore and how good at hiding his pain is to the point they didn't see for what it was.
Ugh scenarios where Bruce is literally suicidal, and has made many attempts, but keeps getting interrupted by his kids and alfred but they don't realise what he was going to do?and they don't know his mental state was that bad?? Sign me up cause I fucking love angst and hurt/comfort
13 yr old Bruce about to slit his throat in the bathroom, but alfred comes out of nowhere and tells him dinner is ready, he made his favourite cause he saw he looked off recently, and Bruce just goes out calmly and hugs him super tight?? Bruce, about to make a decision to end his life after he's all done raising dick (after he becomes nightwing) and knows that dick is set on the right path now and going to crime alley where his parents were shot to end it but ends up meeting jason instead?? After jason when he tied up all loose ends, closed cases, secured gotham good enough, About to go on patrol for one last time, then after he'll jump off, but then meets tim that evening saying he knows who he is?? Meeting cass just when he was planning to do it cause he genuinely hated himself, but seeing so many similarities between him and cass, knowing she sees them too and scared that after he suicides she'll get those ideas too cause they're so similar? Decides to try to help her?? Meeting nightwing when he was going to jump off cause dick wanted to surprise him from blud and he just thought Bruce was brooding?? getting a call from Damain in the middle of the day when he was about to stage a car crash and listens as damian (mad at him) asks him to come to the school to pick him up cause he got suspended for 2 days for knocking out a student for being racist.
CAN U IMAGINE A CONFRONTATION WHERE BRUCE THOUGHT THEY ALREADY KNEW?? AND HES TAKING THIS CASUAL BUT THEYRE FUCKING NOT??
Next here we go still on a dpxdc and tim/Danny kick at the moment.
This one is pretty simple tim and Danny have been together for at least a year when the bats have no clue. They live together and they know of each other's identitys. You can go in many ways for this. I'm just going to say a few that have come to mind.
Tim had a falling out with the rest of the Gotham vigilantes. He doesn't see himself as part of the family. But he's not as upset as he once was because he has Danny, his friends, Danny's friends, and Danny's family. The fentons welcomed him with open arms. Maybe after Bruce comes back from the time stream, he starts to try to be more connected to his kids. He starts to spend more time with them to get to know them better, like he takes some time off or cut down on hours. He makes up with Jason it's still rock, but it's getting better. There was a lot of yelling and bruce tell jason that he regrets how he handled the joker. He apologized to dick for putting so much pressure on him, and he is everything Bruce couldn't be. He got to learn that Damian loves animals and art they go to museums and zoos. Him and Cass bond.(I'll be honest. I can't think of a way they bond at the moment. I don't know Cass that well. He just plainly gets to know Duke. But he can never get Tim alone he never stays long after Patrol. So Bruce tries to be open and asks his other kids to help him talk to Tim. They can't give him answers. It makes them pause and think when was the last time Tim stayed at the manor or just came around for a meal. Even Jason is around now more times than not. They realized that they had no clue about tim, they don't know him like they once did if they ever did. All feel horrible about it, Tim brought back their dad, and they didn't even try to get to know him better. So dick goes to Tim's apartment to see him. He's waiting in the lobby as the front desk person calls up to buzz him in. When Danny walks in with groceries and waves to the front desk to go up. When he is stopped, he asks if Tim is home. Danny hums said he's not sure, and he'll check. Dick thinks that maybe he lives on the floor below Tim as time lives in the pent house. After five minutes Tim calls down to the front desk and says they can send up dick. Dick beams at them as he gos to the elevator. He makes it up to Tim's place. Tim greats him saying that he was in the shower. Dick waves him off. Tim guides him to the kitchen where he see the guy from the lobby putting things away. He turns to Tim to ask but is cut off when Tim give the guy a quick kiss saying thanks after he hands Tim what looks like a little snack tray. Dick follows Tim out of the kitchen to the living room. Tim see the look and says he's my boyfriend he lives here. Questions are fired off fast, where dick learned the guys name is Danny, they have been dating for almost 2 years and living together for 10 months, and last but not least Tim does not see him self as part of the family. He takes what he learns back to the bats. Everyone feels horrible for this. They all try to include Tim more.
This scenario Tim takes Danny to a gala as his dateable. That's how he introduced his over a year boyfriend to his family. Just kinda a crack fic with a bit of angst. Like maybe Bruce wglhile he is happy for tim and wants to have a family dinner with Danny over to properly meet him he is emotionally constipated and worried for the secret identities.
Next scenario is simple. Dick, Jason and Damian run into tim while he and Danny are out for their weekly dat or as often as they can. That's how they find out their brother has a long term relationship. Danny is just laughing in the background.
Feel free add on these are just a few thoights of the same idea that tim and Danny have been together for a while, but the bats somehow don't know. I know there are fics out there with something like these. I love them.
I drew the batfam 🦇
P.s doodles version below
Silly goofy head cannon
Do you think the bats send Tim random photos of kids they see with bad bowlcuts? Just like some kid at the park and under the photo they just type “this you?”
Alternitive!
What if Danny needs to get married, for whatever reason and really doesn’t want to so he just makes a nigh impossible puzzle box and puts it in a place no one will ever find it.
Tim finds it cuz the energy/magic readings on the box and manages to solve it after a couple weeks, excited to see what he gets he moves the last piece only for there to be a random guy in front of you dragging his hands down his face groaning because of something called the "Danny luck"
Congrats Tim! You get married!
Pariah Dark had, much like in the afterlife, had been a tyrant ruler when he was alive. He ruled with an iron fist and despite having many trophy concubines (from conquests and others) he wanted his actual partner to have some intelligence. So he set up a magical puzzle box and whoever solved it would have the honor of being his 'Queen'.... That was all before he died of course and later forgot about the box when he set his conquering sights on the Infinte Realms.
But some things from the living can still count even in death.
So when Tim Drake found the box at his first and only archeologist dig site he was brought to with his parents and solved said box after sneaking off with it he unknowingly became the Ghost Kings 'bride'.... Unknowingly he dodged that huge bullet when years later Danny Phantom beat Pariah Dark in rites of conquest and gained everything under Pariah's name...
Including his future 'bride.'
Bruce Wayne is Scared of Bats. This is a Canon Fact.
In a difference from canon, Batman pretends to actually BE a bat man.
(Again, “Loading and Aspect Ratio” by JUBE514 situation with fake wings. Please go read it I love it so much.)
Bruce turns himself into a physical manifestation of his personal worst nightmares, and sets out to be a street cryptid. People see him flinching from bright lights and loud noises (he hasn’t slept in three days and he really hates guns) twitching weirdly (testing his wings function/stimming) not fully understanding human social niceties (you cannot tell me this man isn't Autistic) and, duh, wings, and go ah yes this being is Inhuman.
However, people KNOW Brucie Wayne™ is petrified of bats. There was an incident at a party when one flew through a window, another at a zoo, there was this one time Manbat showed up and he practically teleported away. No one saw him for a whole week, even after Batman had captured Manbat. (He got injured in the fight.)
However, by extension, this means that Bruce Wayne is afraid of Batman. Just- absolutely terrified of him. No ones seen them in the same place. Ever. Bruce Wayne actually publicly refuses to even believe in the cryptid for YEARS past when he's already been proven to exist.
When the Justice League gets called in to protect Bruce and his smattering of children from a planned kidnapping that batman is conspicuously absent from, despite Gotham being his territory, Bruce straight up tells the league that he doesn’t believe in him, and he feels much safer with “real heroes” rather than “a urban legend spawned from overdramatic furries and gang wars.”
The justice league is, obviously, confused.
Certified little shits Dick, Jason, and Tim, (because we’re going with JUBE514’s canon and jason doesn’t die they’re all brothers f off-)
ANYWAYS: Certified Little Shits Dick, Jason, and Tim, ready for chaos/solidifying secret identities: “Don’t worry! We believe in batman! We saw him!” :D
They then proceed to tell the justice league that Bruce HAS met Batman, but he has a phobia of bats, and when Batman saved them at a gala Bruce screamed so loud and shrill he threw off the bat-hearing and then punched batman in the face so hard he knocked him out cold, grabbed then-baby Jason and ran. (Nightwing and the second Robin had to HEROICALLY rescue a dazed Batman, Dick saw it with his own eyes!)
Bruce was so scared of the bat coming to take revenge that he jumped at every shadow for a whole month. Why, Jason, (who was younger then) had slept in Bruce's bed to keep him safe! (Dick is crooning about his cute little brother. Jason, who is hitting his growth spurt and not a little kid anymore, is infinitely embarrassed.)
“Why is he so scared of bats?” The Justice League is wondering. Oh, they are so glad they asked!
“Alfred told us a story once,” Dick says, eyes wide and innocent as he prepares to lie through his fucking teeth, “that when Bruce was little, really little, he got trapped in a cave filled with bats, and his dad had to come rescue him. Apparently, Little Bruce had been crying about a massive bat, even bigger than he was, with glowing red eyes and human hands and (gasp) wait oh my goodness gracious what if that was the BATMAN :0”
“The baby batman.” Jadon adds.
“Batboy?” Tim wonders.
“Alfred, do you think Bruce met batman when they were little?” Dick asks.
“I believe,” Alfred “the greatest enabler” Pennyworth hums, offering fresh baked scones to thier gleeful audience, “that Master Bruce referred to what he saw as ‘the bat king’ and reported seeing him outside his window several times over the years.”
“Maybe it really was him! Will you ask Batman for us?” Tim asks, already planning to hack the watchtower cameras and set up some popcorn with his brothers.
The Justice League, who have learned more about the Batman in one conversation than they have over MANY years of working together, tell the Wayne children that it will be their Genuine Pleasure to quiz batman on his interactions with BRUCIE WAYNE who has, apparently, laid batman out cold with one punch.
Alfred adds on that he personally thinks the Batman is being rather courteous to Master bruce, as “bat king” sightings were after “difficult times” and he doesn’t come near the manor otherwise, as robin had been the one to return some stolen family heirlooms. He calls the batman and his robins “polite young gentlemen” and then leaves.
But now the gears are turning in the justice leagues heads. Batman? Courteous? Polite? Batman is not Courteous or Polite. Not unless something else is going on.
Now. From their point of view. Batman lives in the cave systems under the richest houses in Gotham, Phantom of the Opera style, hiding his meta form (because this batman is playing cryptid really well.) Maybe he was a mutant baby of some Rich Gothamites, who threw him into the caves in shame! He’s been watching Bruce Wayne, likely as he struggled with the highly reported on demise of his parents, seeing the effects that crime had on the boy that fell into his cave all those years ago. Batman has always been so protective of children, so hateful of guns, clearly the Wayne tragedy is part of what motivates him. He loves Gotham dearly, territorial of it to the point of keeping other heroes out, and yet he breaks that rule here, for Gotham's prince, solely for Bruce’s comfort. Bruce, another person who obviously loves the city of Gotham just as much, putting millions into charity and relief efforts. Who is clearly very protective of his children, even if he usually has no spine, to the point of attacking his greatest fear to keep then safe, and good enough to land a hit, even.
Its all so clear to the Justice League: Batman is madly in love with Bruce Wayne. Has been for years. To the point of watching him sleep, on occasion. How very tragic! Batman, in love with someone he can never be with! Not only would it paint a massive target on Bruce’s back if they ever did get together- there’s no questioning what Gotham villains would do if they discovered this- but batman can’t even truly see the man without him running screaming! Well, the poor guy… how sad…
This conclusion can be aided by the following-
Batman always being seen near where Bruce is. He’s never once at the watchtower when Bruce has a public appearance- he must be watching over him, a silent guardian in case someone gets it in their head to kidnap Gotham’s Prince.
Batman insisting that Bruce is innocent in a corporate scheme, despite evidence to the contrary.
Batman casually referencing Wayne Tech/Foundation inner workings- he keeps an eye on them, of course. (If he can’t be close to the object of his affections, the league reasons, of course he’d make sure that Bruce’s company and projects are on the right track)
Superman saves Bruce, who thanks him with a kiss on the cheek. The justice league starts teasing Clark, batman huffs and leaves the room. He’s CLEARLY jealous! Superman feels just awful!
Batman inexplicably knowing social dances/high society manners- he must have learned by watching (stalking) bruce! He can navigate high profile talk if he wants to, he just doesn’t want to most of the time, but if the situation calls for it he can talk like the Richest of Pricks in a way that only comes with observation.
Batman absolutely freezing up when confronted with this. Or bristling when some of the league members start making Comments on Brucie Wayne’s Physical Attributes. (Jealousy? Defensiveness? Perhaps… embarrassment at GL’s detailed explanation on what he’d do with a chance in bed with Brucie.)
Dick/Jason being big enough to wear the Bat-wings rather than thier own and be convincing- they save Bruce, though the man passes out (from fear? Blood loss from an injury? Perhaps- he is faking) and Dick/Jason, either out of genuine concern for their dad or general “how can i stir the pot” chaos, gently strokes his hair away from his face in an act of compassion that the cameras just so happen to catch. (There’s a few tears shed in the justice league- poor batman! He can’t be with his love!)
The robins (in both identities) telling the justice league that they've seen batman watching him.
“oh yeah he does background checks on aaaaaall bruces conquests. Had a conniption when brucie found a mafia boss that one time.”
“And when he found out Bruce and Two-face had a fling!”
The Justice League is swooning over this tragic, forbidden love story. Batman is a little creepy but hey. He apparently grew up in a cave system. Its a wonder he's as well adjusted as he is. Batman has their sympathy, he seems a little more human, they’re a little more understanding with him now. Superman is all too happy to be a rebound, if needed. There are magic users offering glamour spells. Hal is making exposure therapy innuendos.
The robins can’t believe how lucky they got. They’re def grounded but B can’t be too mad bc his secret identity is FUKIN SET.
Alfred is rather proud of Batman's new nickname in the league being “the bat king” and keeps sending batman along with cookies. The league thinks Batman is checking up on bruce with his butler. Its a mess.
Eventually, Batman loses a bet to one of his kids. Committing to the Bit with an exasperated sigh (he’s definitely not having fun, shut up jason.)
He admits to his crush.
Tim, at Starbucks: Can I get a venti mocha latte with, uhh, seven extra espresso shots.
Tim: Oh, and one of those caffeine sachets if you have them.
Kon: Jesus Christ just do cocaine.
