Althought I personally like the ones that highlight the aid! Letting them be accessories and making ppl look at them and acknowledge them is very Startrek to me (which I love)

And who doesn't love elf ears???!!

Hope this inspires you. I am hunting down a diy tutorial on how to make it but given how expensive aids are I wouldn't feel comfy advocating for it quite yet until further research. Until then tho, start brainstorming and sketching ideas at least!

I will admit that I will go for completed works first but to just disregard works that are 'only' 90k or 47k, like that's a good twenty (20) to forty (40) pages at least in a word document. And not all fandoms have things that are that high in words...

I think some people (myself included) think that 100k is short because we are used to reading fic of more than 250k but you are right. I know that 100k is a lot of work and effort but that does not mean that because of our very twisted way of seeing things, we do not value every word that writers share with us (or at least that is my case)

hmm i’ve seen people say “i won’t read a fic if it’s less than 300k because it’s not worth my time,” and i’ve seen people demand more more more more despite a writer giving them a 80-100k story (a literal book). so i get that reading fic of more than 250k might skew perception, but even 20k, 40, 80k — that’s a lot of work. time. effort. thought. care. not all writers have the time or energy to write 800k epics. it doesn’t make their work any less worth praise and love, which is what i’d really like this fandom to wrap its head around.

I actually have a post about something like that for hearing aids!

Hey as someone who isn't disabled and has never used or needed mobility devices, I just wanted to let you all know that it is so fucking cool when people accessorise/decorate/style their mobility devices to match their outfit and style. Like this one time I saw an older lady dressed entirely in yellow and her cane was yellow and had daisies on it and I still remember that sometimes with joy! Yay yellow lady! Or the punk kid I once saw with skull stickers on their wheelchair and a studded wrap on the back of the backrest.

If you've got a mobility tool of some sort and you've wanted to do something to jazz it up somehow but felt too self-conscious about doing it because what if it doesn't look good, I'm gonna tell you that you 100% should. It's so neat to see people personalise their devices, like they're telling you "this is not a foreign object, this is an extension of my body and outfit and will be styled accordingly."

And I just think that's neat.

THIS!!! All of this aligned with my own headcanon thoughts!

Nobody asked but here's some random world building headcanons I have about FF7

Gaia is a dwarf planet that's stupidly rich in iron, which gives it earth like gravity and makes constructions like Midgar, Junon and Gold Saucer cheap.

Shinra scientists haven't discovered DNA yet and most of their medical science is successful via dumb luck of Jenova being highly adaptive and also the existence of literal magic. They probably haven't figured out atomic theory either.

Cetra did some measure of terraforming on Gaia and Meteor is how they did it. They made the Black Materia for a reason and doubt it was because they wanted to destroy the Planet. I think it was to nudge the Planet's orbit to more desirable place. There's bunch of craters all over Gaia, including the bottom of the ocean, and I don't think they were all caused by the Calamity.

The Summons (in their original non-playable cutscene form in FF7) aren't actually creatures from other worlds, they're memories. Each summon sequence is a event that happened on Gaia sometime in its past, that was then immortalised into Materia so strongly that it can affect physical world.

Which means that there was once upon a time an actual living breathing orbital laser dragon capable of spaceflight and the fact that Cid is a dragoon suddenly makes so much sense.

I get nauseous really easily but I also make sure to have something around that I know I can still eat even if I am. Not only do I not register hunger, but I get really bad headaches if I go too long without eating something.

I am, like, a long running proponent of the "eat something and you'll feel better" crowd and am often one of the first people to suggest "maybe it's time for a snack before I get whipped into a frenzy" but I really do resent how instantaneous it is. like it'll feel like I'm having my worst day in months and then I'll start eating and literally before I even finish I'm like oh yeah the world is beautiful

This is something I will see about getting myself, but the bit about the Always pads doesn't surprise me 😕

i learned that in August 2014 Women’s Voices for the Earth commissioned testing of four types of Always menstrual pads, manufactured by Procter & Gamble. The certified laboratory STAT Analysis Corporation analyzed the products for volatile organic compound.

I Learned That In August 2014 Women’s Voices For The Earth Commissioned Testing Of Four Types Of Always

“The results of the testing indicate that both scented and unscented Always pads emit toxic chemicals, including chemicals identified by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services National Toxicology Program, the Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry, and the State of California Environmental Protection Agency as carcinogens, and reproductive and developmental toxins. None of these chemicals are disclosed on the product by the manufacturer.” (x)

Please let this be an actual story by now?

Let the Fire Build Into a Blaze

A.N - For the Fandom Bingo card spot 1-2; ‘Giotto x Tsuna’. (Also more time travel AU because it won’t leave me alone oh god get it out of my head.)

“Come here,” Giotto orders, low and intimate, slowly extending his hand out. Tsuna jerks like a startled horse, eyes blazing as he stares at Giotto, nostrils flared. His muscles have tensed up, and the blond can practically see the back-and-forth fight between instinct and obedience in his head. Instinct says uncertain, unknown, while obedience is telling him go, listen to your blood. But he’s fighting both, Giotto is pleased to see, his Sky Flames flickering out, tasting the air, waiting for the trap to spring itself while his eyes sweep the forest, looking for quick exits.
