sick of new-wave underage proshippers thinking they HAVE to enjoy all forms of "problematic media" to be considered proship. i myself am proship, however, cant stand loli/shota. makes me uncomfortable, triggers me, hence why i dont interact with it. im sick of seeing kids literally forcing themselves to interact with all aspects of dark fiction just because theyre proship. its okay to have discomforts. its okay to have limts, as long as you accept not everyone feels the way that you do. idk if this makes sense. im tired. glad to see the proship community thriving anyway.

i've been seeing a lot of them saying that proshippers are groomers and that any attempt we make to be kind to them is just some sort of grooming tactic

and to me it just sounds exactly like hearing homophobes and transphobes saying that all trans people are going to groom your kids into being trans or all gay people are going to groom your children into being gay

its scary, and so stupid.

i understand that a lot of antis have this fear because they were groomed by a proshipper or they know someone who was, but it really frustrates me because there are going to be groomers everywhere on the internet, its like their hunting grounds.

yes some trans people are groomers, that does not make all trans people groomers.

I think antis need to understand that we can differentiate between fiction and reality and that what we enjoy in fiction doesn't mean we condone or want it in real life.

Like, I'm a sucker for certain incest ships, but that doesn't mean I want to fuck my mom or anyone else in my family.

I'm also a huge slut for age-gap relationships and abusive dynamics, but that doesn't mean I'm interested in going after someone significantly older or younger than me, and it doesn't mean that I want to be abused myself.

Being proship means that we enjoy things that are problematic in FICTION because of the entertainment/comfort/whatever other value they provide for us and that it is not always a reflection of what we believe or desire.
