Being “proship” Is Common Sense, I Think The Label Shouldn’t Exist

it's quite odd to me that people assume all proshippers are predatory when all the proshippers i've met care deeply about online safety, advocate against irl abuse, and understand the importance of setting boundaries. i have witnessed more kindness here than any other community i've been in.

Antis are toxic, and so are proshippers

“A proshipper did this!” “Proshippers when someone blocks them:” I’m sure an anti has acted the same!

“An anti did this!” “Antis when we block them:” well I’m sure a proshipper has acted the same!

Is it so hard to accept that maybe we BOTH have our own problems and flaws and everyone has their own opinions?

Extra :It’s ok to be uncomfortable with proshipper content, and it’s ok to be uncomfortable with anti content!

it sucks that people can't stand the idea of SA victims coping using fiction if it doesn't fit the criteria of being repulsed of any and all subjects related to said trauma. you can't cope if the incident is presented in a way that isn't explicitly horrible. if you find comfort in rewriting your trauma, you can't do that either because it has to be bad all the time. you can't redefine what your trauma means, you can't process it in the way you want to, you can't heal because you're "not doing it right."

No anti ever has an explanation for "if you like this in fiction then you like it in real life" and why it seemingly only applies to sex shit

They can understand separating fictional violence and murder from real life violence and murder. They don't think reading about a murderer means you want to murder irl. But reading about incest? You must want to fuck your sibling irl
