Returning to the matter of my phone screensaver, I have actually done a separate home/lock screen for the first time, and this is now my lock screen because I was just in a Spicy Watson mood when I was setting my screensavers.
I’ve also had a lot of wanderlust lately, and it’s just about exactly a year ago right now that I got home from my study abroad in London (and other places in the UK, but the longest portion of it was in London). At one point I stood in almost exactly the spot this picture would’ve been taken from if it was a photo, in fact--well, not precisely at this angle, but along the walkway by the river near the London Eye.
I know it’s meant as Sherlock fanart, and I can definitely hear the theme song playing in my head as I look at it with that in mind, but I love that it’s also subtle enough that it just makes me feel like I’m there. I don’t know if there are any Thamesside hotels in the right spot to have this view, but the purpley-sparkly sky makes me feel like I’m sitting on the crisp white sheets of a bed in the window of one such hotel room, gazing out against the fading light of the sunset as the stars slowly come alight during a power outage apparently because you could never see that many stars from there sorry I know this is no time for realism and the hum of the street begins to dull for the night, giving way to the rustling of the river. It’s just very tranquil when I’m not overanalyzing it and transportive and, again, purple is my color so it’s great for that too. There’s just a particular, unique feeling to sleeping in a hotel in a city, and this piece has that feeling to it.
Inspired by Sherlock!

This is so gorgeous and emotional and dramatic! I haven’t watched the Netflix finale yet--I guess I’m saving it for a little bit--but I’ll never forget all the feels I felt reading the beach scene in The End, back before “feels” was even a thing people said. This song beautifully captures all of those emotions and gives me plenty of its own. I’m pretty sure it gave me goosebumps although I admit it is also a bit chilly in here. But the emotion in the lyrics and the singer’s voice are certainly goosebump-worthy!
Also, FYI, the volume is fine on my end. It sounds lovely!
Edit: I realize now that I was using my cheap headphones when I wrote this; they’re not great headphones and so I always have to turn the volume up on things to compensate. I just didn’t realize that I wasn’t turning the volume up for this song. So, yes, the volume is indeed loud. It’s not hard to deal with though, and this is still a gorgeous song. I was listening to it on repeat at work the other day.
I think it’s best to listent to it at low volume because I still can’t use garage band properly and the volumes are wrong
Kit and Olaf love story was my insipiration for this song, they are one of my first ship and it felt like a nice way to honor it.
I hope you enjoy it. I’ll be posting the lyrics in a reblog so keep an eye open. also as soon as I’ll fix the volumes I’ll be putting it on band camp.
My gosh, these are beautiful. The color and the lighting are so delicate and the water is just glowing. I love how faint the ships coming through the fog are. Also boats are beautiful in general and this captures that, plus the water looks like candy in some of these. Lovely <3

I’m feeling such secondhand bittersweetness right now; 100 episodes of an awesome show is a great accomplishment, and I’m happy we got this far. All the same, I can’t help that endings are always sad--like, I’ve heard that whole “don’t cry because it’s over, smile because it happened” quote, and I often think about it, but still. But at the same time, the end hasn’t even properly started for us yet; it’s just over for the actors and camera people and such. I imagine the editors have a fair amount of work ahead still (shoutout to my editing peeps ;) (I work as a video editor for a local historical society)). Still, I’m glad I found Gotham when I did, and it’s been a fun ride.
I mean, it’s crazy because I just started watching this summer, but it’s cool to be here now to go through the end as part of the fandom. It’s rare that I’m caught up and active in a fandom, especially at such a climactic time. I mean this was a couple of days ago now, but still. In the broader span of fandom history... I was here, watching as Gotham ended. I feel like I’m standing with my fandom dramatically perched on a rooftop gazing into the sunset as chaotic explosions bloom around us in the encroaching night.

Happy 100th episode, @GothamOnFox! 🦇 .

Well, I just reblogged Christmas antlers Wilf, so I suppose I must also reblog Christmas antlers 12.
Hey, wait a second, are those the same antlers? Okay they aren’t, but I can’t help but wonder if the Tardis wasn’t at least inspired by Wilf...

”You are a time-space machine. You’re a vehicle! I’ve never asked you to cheer me up with hologrammatic antlers!”
I second the request! That or someone on Etsy who knows how to screenprint things needs to get on making them. I could hang it up next to my Ravenclaw banner in the library/living room :)
me @ gotham
ok how much for one of these banners
I have recently discovered that cat cosplay is a thing. In fact, I think it’s my new favorite thing :)
“You’re just as sane as I am.”
The other ships will still be looking to us, to the Black Pearl, to lead, and what will they see? Frightened bilge rats aboard a derelict ship? No, no they will see free men and freedom! And what the enemy will see, they will see the flash of our cannons, and they will hear the ringing of our swords, and they will know what we can do! By the sweat of our brow and the strength of our backs and the courage in our hearts! Gentlemen, hoist the colours!
fandom is so weird you never know how old anyone is but you just kinda assume most of them are around your age until proven otherwise and then one day someone is talking about their 9 year old kid on your dash and another person is saying they just finished 10th grade. wild.
Yes, this is definitely my favorite Gerard hair :) The color, the shape, and the softness are all on point.
Day 57: “Sniper”
I kind of love the idea of travelling with my cats, but at the same time it makes me afraid that they might get away and get lost in a strange, faraway place. Like, I remember once when we were bringing two kittens home from my cousin’s in Iowa back home to Virginia, there was this moment when we stopped at a rest stop to refresh their food and water bowls, and I just had this overwhelming realization that, with their carrier door open, if they were to get out of the car, they would probably get spooked by the commotion of the rest stop and run, and I would in all likelihood never see them again. This pretty kitty seems to be quite calm outdoors, and the woods are not the same as a rest stop, but still. I would worry.
Plus I have three cats and I think it would be harder to travel with them all than with just one kitty like this, and I would feel bad picking one cat over the others to take somewhere--although I suppose one could cycle through.
It’s certainly a tempting notion, travelling the world with cats in tow, and I love photo sets like this (or adventurecats.org is a fun site, too). Maybe some day, when I’m confident in their leash training and I have money to travel and such. It’s a lovely thought. And these are very pretty cat-and-nature pics.
Welcome, dear traveller, to our fantastical lande shrouded in swirling violet mists. Here we study how stories shape our lives, how words weave wonders before our eyes. Here we are enamoured of love and the connections betwixt people. Here we seek daring adventures in our wild lande, delving into the unknown at every turn. But mostly, here you'll find my obsession with any number of things, like Doctor Who, the Vampire Diaries, or any number of others from the ever-shifting tide of obsessions through which I cycle. My more-used sideblog is blagueofchaos if you ever wish I posted more :) She/her, 28
