iâve been saying this to myself this morning and iâm going to say it to you in case you need to hear it: you are not here to be physically attractive. that is not your purpose. you are here to learn new things and be kind to people and listen to your favorite music and pet cute dogs and read big books and drink good coffee. you are here to see beauty in the world and create it when you canât find any. you are not here to impress people with how you look.
Stevie Nicks: The grand high witch, the regent of the coven. She oversees all and always will. Immortal and full of all-knowing wisdom, initially peaceful but also can (and will) kick your ass.
Florence + The Machine: Channels nature energy but isnât afraid to dabble in the dark. Often found wandering through misty forests and open fields of goldenrod, singing lost tales of tortured spirits. Talks with Demeter from time to time.
Hozier: May be possessed by the spring goddess side of Persephone. Spends most of his time in the mossy bogs in the realm of the fae. Sometimes reappears in the human world for brief periods of time, spreading fae wisdom to the humble masses before leaving again.
Zella Day: Modern witch caught between rural and urban magic. Cavorts in the dry, desert planes of the Southwest. Frequently surrounded by crystals and succulent plants. Wears a lot of maxi dresses, wide hats, and combat boots.
AURORA: Actual dryad tree spirit. Lives deep in the woods whispering ageless melodies into waterfalls. Lives at one with nature and is friends with the deer and the wolves. Thrives off of empathy and kindness. Has plans to build a paradise haven for the exiled and rejected peoples of the world.
Zolita: Love witch, harnesses passion and desire for the forces of good. Full of sapphic energy and communicates with Aphrodite. Leader of a badass coven of LGBTQ+ witches and a slowly brewing feminist rebellion.
Elsa & Emilie: The spirits of Victorian witches reincarnated into younger forms. Literally mature beyond their years. Sing haunting harmonies of their lives and loves wrongfully lost. Reach their ultimate power when working together. Arenât afraid to venture into the dark.
Lorde: Urban witch with untapped chaotic energy. Also mature beyond her years. Is still restless but now channels strong emotions. Uses synesthesia to literally see the spells. Kicks back with Athena from time to time.
Lana Del Rey: Fluctuates between light and dark witchcraft. Uses love magic but will also curse you. Talks to both Harmonia and Eris, also the devil. Keeps a grimoire passed down for generations in her purse.
Lola Blanc: Witch that managed to travel from an alternate jazz age steampunk timeline. Utilizes technological innovation in form mixed with traditional technique. May or may not have performed necromancy and hypnotism.
Banks: Perhaps the most chaotic dark witch of them all. Probably possessed by the queen of the dead side of Persephone, or maybe Hecate. Channels powerful energy from storms, lust, and conflict. Has a soft side she rarely lets anyone see.
That ended up a hella long. Did I miss anyone?
Marriage Story (2019)
There I was again tonight forcing laughter faking smiles so I made up this long ass post for y'all!
So you a potato. Me a potato. World conquered by we potatoes. But potato need survival tips. So your brotato (get it? Bro potato?) help you out. Yay potato. Go go potato.
Catch concepts, not chapters. Your portion is most likely gonna be super vast, so itâs helpful to know a little something from every chapter rather than knowing just 50% of your syllabus.
Figure out which concepts are important and master them.
Keep all assignments completed at least 1 day before submission date. This isnât always possible but trust me if you do this youâre guaranteeing marks for proper submission. Job done early? Proof check and add touches to enhance that essay!
Let the teachers know that youâre working hard. I actually passed math because my math teacher knew I was working super hard on my math skills. Participate in the class, gather a bunch of doubts and then dump them on your teacher when the chapter ends.
Try not to miss lectures because chances are youâll remember that silly mnemonic your friend made up in class and get the answer correct.
Analysis of your exam type is super important. Want me to make a long ass post about it?
Having a stuydjo/bujo by your side helps hella lot.
Plan plan plan. Lists, organise lists and colour code them. Basically become Monica Geller Bing and youâre set for life.
Motivational quotes from pinterest almost make me guilty for not being productive and force me to do something.
Before starting your study session, dance around to upbeat music for like 5 minutes. Youâll see the difference I promise.
Seek out inspiration from your smart friends /tumblr friends /people you look up to by constantly reminding yourself about them. I always think of hermione granger because even randomly picturing her with books in my mind ignites that badass boss feeling complying me to study tf up.
Studyjo/bujo saves your life.
Wear a watch all the damn time, it will remind you of how much time youâre spending doing nothing. Youâll end up saving several extra minutes!
List out what youâre gonna do every hour of the day on a sticky note and refer to it when you feel lazy.
Get a super nice friend /parent /sibling who will constantly remind you to utilise your time.
Think of time as currency and pretend that itâs all a game where you need to save up as much money as you can to become a billionaire. Save up your time and become rich af.
Stduyjo/bujo again. You know the drill now.
A little bit of exercise before starting work generally works you up and sets the correct mood.
Knowing how ahead your friends are from you often makes you wanna catch up so try getting that motivation.
Set goals + rewards that actually matter to you. Maybe a face care spa day isnât your thing but munching on a snickers bar is. Treat yo self.
Tell someone a detailed plan of what you are going to accomplish the next day. Now whenever you see that person youâll want to prove to them that youâre doing what you promised. Or the guilt may drive you too.
Try the lipstick trick. There are days when you do not have the time /want to put on makeup, so just put on a lipstick that matches your outfit and youâll automatically create an illusion of being more put together, boss af and fabulous.
Try out cheap (potato canât afford sorry) but elegant accessories. If itâs a necklace try tucking it under the collar of your shirt and see the magic. Stick to one staple accessory thatâs gonna be your trademark.
Tame that mane potato. Your hair isnât gonna detangle itself. You gotta do it. I mean, donât you love your hair?
Minimalistic colours rock. Some outfits never go old like flannels or white shirts or black dresses.
The lipstick does the trick for me.
Putting my hair in a sky high ponytail makes me feel like Iâm a queen or something.
Save little compliments for yourself as reminders and when you get them youâll feel 10x more beautiful than before.
Try to accomplish super tiny stuff. Break down every task into micromolecular basics.
Give yourself a ted talk. It works.
Sometimes the best way of dealing with burnout is by detoxing from the thing that caused burnout. Stay away form books and after some time youâll actually want to study.
Step one is to finish homework /assignments. If you can concentrate on them, youâre good to go.
Do not take up a lot of load, just skimming through textbooks, reviewing notes, going over flashcards should do the trick.
If you desperately need to get shit done, just ignore the fact that you do not want to do it. Itâs harsh on your mind but desperate times require desperate measures.
Avoid forcing yourself to study because youâll not retain info like that.
Take it easy. But consistently. Maybe just one topic a day. But do not miss a day. A steady everyday practice goes long way in the future.
There are several apps that can help you with this, like forest. My top pick is the Tide app which has a gorgeous interface and super aesthetic timers with new pictures everyday. I shit you not every time I quit my pomodoro I feel the guilt of having killed 1000 puppies its worse and I avoid doing that at all costs.
If you study in your room, keep your phone in the kitchen for some time. Your lazy ass is less likely to get up and use the phone.
Switching the phone off before starting a study session works because I care for my phone like a baby and it feels horrible to switch it on and off and on and off.
Practice 30 minutes of digital detox everyday. You donât have to study at that time, just stay away from everything that is technology. Read and book, eat a fruit, make a sandwich, paint, sing, dance, exercise. Study if you want. Just no gadgets.
Yoga works. Potato body ainât that flexible so just breathing exercises for a start is also enough.
Highly recommended : brain dump every night before sleeping can ensure that youâll not stay up too late pondering over the meaning of your existence and world politics.
Having a hearty talk with someone you trust will also lift weight off your chest.
Pin point the cause of your stress and annihilate the problem. Slay it.
Carry a cool ass bottle of water with you every frigging where.
Make it a rule to have a drink everytime you go to the loo or you take a bath /shower.
Replace one of your daily caffeines /sugars with water. You donât have to get rid of coffee because thatâs just non potato ish, but maybe that third cup could be replaced with water.
Try a game thingy. Maybe everytime the word âprocrastinationâ pops in your mind take a drink. Wow, Iâm so creative *sighs for eternities*.
5 minute stretches right after getting up works you up.
Try one of those YouTube videos of 15 minute workouts. You can have 3 such workouts through the day and call yourself a fit potato.
Replacing one packet of junk food with nuts/fruits also works.
Everytime you hear someone say something related to money, have a banana. Random much? Nope, bananas are known to increase hormones that make you happy in your body, meaning youâll feel full and happy. Maybe offer the person a banana too.
Eat bananas!
Take pictures of things you love, not things your followers love.
Puppies are a source of eternal joy.
Reading goofy/cheesy/romance books make you giggle and feel good in general.
Watching cheesy films or good ass romcoms works just well.
Friends was created for a reason.
Writing down what you accomplished today gives a sense of pride and satisfaction. Take that shit.
Tumblr has shitposts made basically to make you happy.
Lists lists lists. Subjects you love, you hate, youâre good at, you suck at.
Consulting your teachers, family etc and find out what they think youâre good at. Sometimes other people can see traits of yours better than you.
Career tests rock.
Youâll figure it out in the end somehow.
And thatâs about it for now folks, hope this helps. See y'all laterz~

Dedicated to @aâspecialâoneâ Thank you so much for asking! I felt like this needed a post all itâs own ^u^
-from my grimoire
Iâd like to say before anything else, and as I always say, this is not the only way to do this. There are many different ways to create your own spells, and this is simply the method that I find easiest when teaching beginners. And always remember that when it comes to crafting a spell, your intentions are whats most important.
The first step to creating any spell, is thinking about what kind of spell you want to perform, how you want to perform it, and how you want it to manifest.
Ask yourself some questions. âWhat kind of spell do I want to make?â âDoes this need to be a very specific spell or a vague one?â âWhat method am I going to use to cast/create the spell?â âHow do I want this spell to affect me or the person itâs aimed at?â âWhat kind of ingredients am I going to need?â âWhat time of day or moon phase would I like to perform this spell?â Anything along those lines are important questions to ask before you start working on your spell. Write the questions and answers down on paper that way you can keep track of everything!
The next place youâre going to end up is choosing what kind of spell you want to do. Picking what type of spell you want to do is important because this is what decides how effective it is, how long itâs going to last, and when itâs effect will activate. This is not a list of all the types of spells out there, but simply the types that I do on a regular basis. And as another note, you can totally combine methods as well! This can easily enhance the power of your spells and make your intentions more clear and direct.
Prayer - This is the most simple form of a spell, and best to do if youâre only looking for a little aid rather than something major. A spell like this puts you in the universes hands completely.
Spoken Word - Differing from prayer because this has actual intentions in mind. This is usually a word, phrase, rhyme/lyric, or short paragraph spoken with energy. A spell like this can be very effective depending on how much energy you put into it and how much you actually believe in yourself. If youâre low on supplies and need something solid, spoken word is the way to go.
Incense Spell - An incense spell is usually directed at yourself rather than at another person, though that doesnât mean it canât work on another. But these are very temporary spells and only last as long as the burning incense. Usually this kind of spell is used to enhance focus.
Candle Spell - One of the most common types of spell youâre going to see are ones with candles. You can perform this spell on yourself or another person easily, and theyâre very fast acting depending on the type of candle you use. When doing this kind of spell, take things like color and size in account.
Crystal Grid - A type of spell work that is done by placing specific crystals in a manner where their energies intermingle and work together to perform a task. This is a spell type that I use on a daily basis to set the mood for the day and keep me energies.
Sigil - A type of drawn magick that puts your intentions of paper. Usually these need to be charged and activated, but once thatâs done, they have quite nice effects!
Bottle/Bag Spell - My personal favorite type of spell! These work well if you need a constant effect, and depending on the size of bag or bottle you use can easily be carried with you everywhere. These are very long lasting, donât need to be charged often, and produce the best effect.
Energy Spell - Probably a more advanced technique, but this is the use of pure energy to put your will into motion. Doing energy spells takes lots of practice and in the early stages can be very unstable in whether they work or not, or whether theyâll completely backfire. This takes patience so donât give up!
Unless youâve decided on spoken word or prayer alone, youâll be looking for ingredients next. You donât need expensive or fancy ingredients, and if you need to you can totally add spices and such from your kitchen ^u^ Think about correspondences carefully, and if you associate something with a feeling or ideal specifically then use it! Things that have personal meanings to yourself can be the most powerful ingredient in any spell.
Here are some of the correspondences Iâve posted about. (If tumblr wasnât fiddly I would post links, but theyâre on my blog in the âMy Grimoireâ and âMy Tipsâ pages) Herbs and Spices Incense and Oils Common Crystals Colors Flowers Feathers (be mindful of the feathers you pick up, some could get you in legal trouble!)
Once youâve got all your ingredients together, next thing youâre gonna wanna sit down and figure out when you want to cast your spell. This isnât always a necessary part, and most spells can be done whenever you feel like, but taking things like Time of Day or the Current Moon Phase into account can really add to (or even take away from) the power of your spell
Here are some simple correspondences for Moon Phase and Time of Day. (Iâll go more in depth in a separate post if enough people show interest)
Moon Phases
New Moon (when there is only the tiniest sliver) - Good for sowing the seeds of new ideas
Waxing Moon - Good for healing, and growing ideas
Full Moon - Best time to perform any sort of spell
Waning Moon - Good for cutting things out of your life
Dark Moon (when the moon is not visible) - Take this time to rest and focus on yourself
Time of Day
1am-3am - Good for communicating with spirits
4am-6am - Good for planting new ideas and fertility
7am-9am - Best time to make offerings to deities or local spirits
10am-12pm - Best time for positivity and growth
1pm-3pm - Good to focus on yourself and your studies
4pm-6pm - Time to harvest and be with family
7pm-9pm - Best time to cut things out of your life
10pm-12am - Good for any magickal workings
Like I said earlier, this stuff isnât necessary unless you really want that extra âumphâ in your magick, so donât feel like you have to plan it down to a T especially if youâre in a hurry. Only plan if you want to and have the time to.
How are you going to cast the spell? Thatâs probably one of the hardest parts youâre going to come across if youâre new to spell crafting. You want to think about this part carefully so you get maximum results. I can give some tips ^u^
If youâre combining methods, think about what order you want to put them in. Organize them in a way that flows naturally.
Practice your spell! Set up a play scenario and rehearse your spell a few times to make sure you get it right, and the whole process goes smoothly.
Donât be afraid to make a mistake though, mistakes are part of life and they always tend to happen when you want them to the least. If your spell doesnât go perfectly the way you imagined, thatâs okay. Intention is what matters.
Keep all your spells in a file or in a book. Keeping records of spells is important if you ever intend to use them again, write everything down from ingredients to how you cast
Dont be afraid to experiment! Especially with random things, thatâs how you make your own associations. Making your own associations is how you make a spell even stronger!
Lastly, donât feel obligated to get fancy or over the top. Spoken word spells can be just as effective as a bottle spell, especially if itâs said every day.
