or "a career proplayer team used this once in a tourney as a highly specific/suprise tactic" so now you're enjoying every random trying it out for at least three days.
re: being told what to do: either change your group (if you're into tryharding improvement comes only from understanding WHY top tables Do The Thing, and if you're not - it's on them to descend into scrubdom via secondary objectives), or acknowledge this insecurity of your random teammates is a skill issue on their part. If they were good enough they wouldn't be matched with you. otherwise: they're just hype another opponent just arrived and they want to blitz you to their skill level so you don't get frustrated by getting stomped/see what bedazzled them + at some point improvement itself is improved - random exploratory play gives way to deliberate practice.
but yes, and it's not even decided by a handful of nerds: various analytics sites showcase this is an inherent problem of competitive games
The trouble with trying to get into very niche multiplayer titles is that there's always this core group of like half a dozen players who've been fighting each other on a daily basis since pre-alpha and are the only ones who give the developers consistent feedback, and now the game's entire meta revolves around the personal idiosyncrasies of these five or six specific guys in a way that's balanced and competitive when taken on its own terms, but melts foreign organisms on contact.
Check for understanding:
What tone does the phrase 'fun fact!' give to the next statement?
Why did crabs-but-better phrase the extra time as 'forbidden'?
How does capitalizing 'Watch Out', as opposed to 'watch out', change the interpretation of these words?
What could have caused amiru-shubfeast to reblog with commentary?
What does the use of exclamation marks imply about their mood and mental state?
What formatting choices did their followup post use? Why?
Discuss with a mutual: what are the short and long term effects of sleep deprivation? Have you experienced any?
@reading-comp-posting
fun fact! did you know that you can gain extra ‘forbidden time’ by staying up late in the night? but Watch Out
hypothetically how big of an overlap does the limbus fandom have with the bsd fandom ……. And how would this hypothetical overlap feel about fyolai and ryofaust …………… asking for a friend ………..
Fukuchi's page is likely to be a fake. Keeping a page unused runs the risk of someone retconning what was already written on it, especially since they would see the exact phrasing used. But is the page does have some empty space, Fukuchi would like to keep it on his person as an assurance no ratly concerns are solved with it. So for the sake of good PR you give out a replica - when Fuku decided to use it, it would be either to do finishing touches (at which point it would happen to late to properly react to it's fakeness), or to cover a major fuckup (at which point, it's fakeness is the final nail in the coffin). If he suspects it's a fake, testing it out on something smol would risk eating up squares/space on the real page, but acknowledging the possibility prevents using it to it's full extent (as to hedge one's bets).
re: anime: well, Asagiri has been on board so everything that was added does provide extra data points.
re: Nikolai: ha, out respective brainrots got in the way. the focus on Nikolai w/ hand imo kind of signals the author gets a free setup to rewrite him into basically anything.
upside: dialogue (and the way the main panel is... "shot", hiding the mask) implies that now he has no reason for murderclown routine. alternatively: he's completely written out of the plot, either in Alcott-esque fashion (as pure satellite character), or permamently, as an used up plot device. Either way we forget.
downside: orrrr because it's not as upfront as Odasaku pulling Dazais bandages off, he can just double down on the mask. alternatively: the monkey paw curls and the genuine side is not to your taste.(or what happens is a synthesis of his face and mask, so to speak.)
So at this point i'm kind of afraid to ask: what result would you consider return to (better) form? keeping in mind that whatever research Asagiri did it pales in comparison to yours
re: re: scheduled Dostoy pivot: nonsense trust speech -> adapts strats and THIS being the rough CnP pivot (as opposed to Sigma :|)
can we form a coup against asagiri and make you the writer instead? genuinely... I am not taking the Fyodor immortal information well.. please help............................ ( ´,_ゝ` )
Oh, I would absolutely not do BSD well either. I just wish Asagiri had stuck to his roots more. He was a great comedy writer, and the beginning of the story was great for it. It's the action and Death Note stuff he can't seem to get mastery of. But for the immortal part: I'm not entirely sold that Fyodor's immortal, yet. It seems like yet another twists that will twist to reveal oh, shocker, he faked his memories to confuse Sigma/the ADA... or something. Could very well be immortal, but not 100% guaranteed.
OP now you made me think; it's been a hot while since i've read C&P but the general vibe i remember is: the plot: chill slice of life the narration: 'if i agree will that be suspicious can that be tied back to me will NOT agreeing be sus-'
so! how do you make yourself hard to remember/as beneath suspicion as possible? 100% bland politeness, no personal details*, no strong expressions/gestures… Gogol as a distraction is a bonus, and while we have no proof of freeze response(s), we not not have them either. these tend to happen if the subject cannot either run or fight. alternatively: when the brain is stuck trying to find the best course of action ;>
*refering to interactions outside of Dazai
i wish they added a little bit more of raskolnikov in fyodor cuz how much more funny would it b if he just kept having random outburst due to paranoia and guilt or if he kept lashing out whenever ppl r slightly nice to him I kinda wish asagiri had made him more of a anxious freak I would’ve enjoyed his character a little more and he would’ve been a lot easier to relate to instead of having him b so detached
like it would’ve been hilarious to watch his goofy ass keep switching between completely cold and calculating to nervously sweating his ass off and desperately trying not to show it
idk I just love when they give villains silly traits instead of making them seem so untouchable and rigid he’s still a cool character though
Spoilers for the ending of the Mersault arc in Bungou stray dogs season 5.

Going back and reading the Mersault arc again.
My favourite little detail foreshadowing the twist at the end...is Chuuya's hands.
No I'm not kidding.
Chuuya's outfit has changed from what it usually is.
He's not wearing his gloves.
For most of the arc he's in, his hands remain in his pockets.
When fighting Rimbaud years ago Chuuya said to him:
"Wanna know why I've been keeping both my hands tucked away this whole time? It helps me stay rooted when I'm afraid I'm gonna lose myself."
It's why he takes his gloves off when he activates corruption.
But here Chuuya's hands are tucked away in his pockets, just like they were before he joined the Port Mafia.
He's still in there.
He hasn't lost himself.
The other thing I love is that while Chuuya's outfit has changed, he's still wearing his hat. The hat that Mori gave him when he joined.
It's a clear sign that he's still with the Port Mafia.
But Fyodor doesn't know Chuuya, he doesn't know the significance of his hat nor why keeping his hands tucked away mean.
Fyodor doesn't trust people.
That was his first mistake.
His second was thinking he could ever control Chuuya Nakahara.
*Random fanfic of any gay BSD ships getting proposed to/are married/seems like they are married
“it’s cute and all but you’re forgetting that gay marriage is illegal in Japan”
Stfu, they are literally part of the mafia and have killed poeple, you really think they’d care about that💀
;O how deep does the rabbit hole go.
mm, may have overdone with the hyperbole there. In comparison to destroying the town or children's base/symbol of the future? progress? you're sacrificing multiple people who would agree to it, with reasons ranging from solving the trolley problem through fatalism/defeatism to grief/guilt. Nonetheless, it is consensual. IIRC the faction is the one with killers/lawbreakers in it, as well. As for the puppet angle - in this case it's just a story, so not just their sacrifice, but the ending as well loses it's weight. If it's a story, you can just say it takes only a few miserable people (and a few heroic figures) to save the entire town and call it a day. Because the town is fictional even within the game to begin with.
As for 'dealing with death' i have no clue where i heard that idea. Blaming hbomberguy i guess ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ but basically, the opening is children having a pretend funeral - before the plot even starts, before the setting is established. Yes, it could just be to establish the mood, but still. Furthermore, the wiki has this:
On the final Day 12, should the healer successfully heal both their Bound and the Bound of the other two healers, they will receive a letter from The Powers That Be - and they're not happy. They will insist that the healer is ruining their game by doing whatever they please. (...) They're playing a morbid game to distract themselves from a recent funeral - and the healers are their dolls.
So some death is desired. (and p sure they do mention Bachelor is usually a villain, but it is ambiguous if in general or they keep redoing the scenario)
SMT is relevant only tangentially in that the neutral ("good") ending takes extra effort, was super secret and then just became par for the course as majority went for neutral endings since
Speaking of Pathologic, couldn't Clara's experiences inform Fyodor in some way? I feel like there's something there, with Fyodor and his Ability. Particularly how it was shown in Dead Apple... It ties into The Double as well, and Crime and Punishment/Ivan's talk with the Devil, to some extent... Hm, I hope this is a good track.
