ES|| Esta soy yo y mi gato imaginario.☀️ Para los que no me conozcáis: Me llamo Anna Valpuesta Farré y soy ilustradora infantil. Nací y vivo en Barcelona y me apasiona crear personajes adorables que solo con mirarlos me saquen una sonrisa. En mis tiempos libres soy una voraz devoradora de libros y siempre llevo una taza o termo de infusión de hierbas en la mano (fresquita en verano y calentita en invierno). Me encanta la naturaleza y los animales, siempre voy mirando los pájaros, las flores y plantas, las abejas y cualquier animalillo que me pase por delante… Me fascina descubrir animales que no sabía que existían en el mundo y tengo una llista mental de animales que sería un sueño ver en directo en su hábitat natural. Por este motivo siempre aparece naturaleza en mis ilustraciones. Ahh! Y me gusta hacer fotos, pero no que me las hagan y creo que esta es la primera vez que hago un autorretrato!! 🌻🐝

EN|| This is me and my imaginary cat.☀️ For those of you who don't know me: My name is Anna Valpuesta Farré and I’m a children's illustrator. I'm from Barcelona and I’m passionate about creating adorable characters that just by looking at them make you smile. In my free time I’m a voracious devourer of books and I always carry a cup or a thermos of herbal tea in my hand (cool in the summer and warm in the winter). I absolutely love nature and animals, I’m always looking at birds, flowers and plants, bees and any little animal that passes by... It fascinates me to discover animals that I didn’t know existed in the world and I have a mental list of animals that It would be a dream come true to see live in its natural habitat. For this reason, nature is always present in my illustrations. Ahh! And I like taking photos, but not being in them. I think this is the first time I've made a self-portrait!! 🌻🐝

ES|| Como apasionada de los dragones no podía dejar pasar la oportunidad de celebrar el inicio del año nuevo lunar, que este año es el del dragón, y ya de paso, aprovecho para despedirme del año que dejamos atrás, el del conejo!

Me parece super curioso la diversidad de dragones que existen en los diferentes imaginarios y culturas alrededor del mundo. De todos los colores (verdes, rojos, turquesa), formas (de serpiente, de lagarto, como una montaña o como un rio), elementos (fuego, agua, tierra) y caracteres (bondadosos como los de varias mitologías asiáticas o malos como en las leyendas occidentales). A mi personalmente me encantan los dragones bondadosos ligados a la naturaleza, por este motivo me imagino siempre al dragón de Sant Jordi como un jardinero que cultiva rosas y no como un ser despiadado que solo de su sangre brota la vida.

EN|| As a dragon enthusiast, I couldn't miss the opportunity to celebrate the beginning of this lunar new year, the year of the dragon. And, in the way, say goodbye to the year we leave behind, the year of the rabbit!

I find it super intriguing the diversity of dragons that exist in different imaginaries and cultures all around the world. We can find dragons of all colors (green, red, turquoise), shapes (like a snake, a lizard, a mountain or a river), elements (fire, water, earth) and natures/ mind set (kind-hearted like those in various Asian mythologies or bad like in Western legends). I personally love kind dragons linked to nature and farming, for this reason I always imagine the Sant Jordi dragon as a gardener who grows roses and not as a ruthless being that only from its blood does life thrive.

CAT || Mai m'ha agradat massa com va la llegenda del caballer sant jordi… La meva llegenda de Sant Jordi particular és la de la dragona Jordina que va llegir tants llibres que es va quedar dormida en un camp de rosers! Va tenir somnis preciosos on viatjava a terres llunyanes, coneixia animals salvatgement suaus i tothom reciclava molt! La cultura és un generador de somnis on tot és pot fer realitat! Culturitzem-nos, la cultura ens farà forts com una dragona! Feliç Sant Jordi a totes i tots!! 📚🐉🌷

ESP || Mi leyenda de Sant Jordi es la de la dragona Jordina que leyó tantos libros que se quedó dormida en un campo de rosales! Tuvo sueños preciosos donde viajaba a tierras lejanas, conocía animales salvajemente suaves y todo el mundo reciclaba mucho! La cultura es un generador de sueños donde todo se puede hacer realidad! My legend of Sant Jordi is that of the dragon Jordina who read so many books that she fell asleep in a field of roses! ESP || Mi sueño desde siempre es tener un gato... Y muchas plantas! Esta ilustración es especial ya que hacía muchísimo tiempo que no hacía una ilustración toda en técnicas tradicionales! Hoy he desempolvado el gouache, las acuarelas y los lápices de colores y he celebrado el día del gato con una ilustración rápida hecha en menos de una hora... Espero que os guste!!😺

ENG|| My dream has always been to have a cat ... And many plants! This illustration is special since it has been a long time since I did an illustration all in traditional techniques! Today I dusted off the gouache, watercolors and colored pencils and celebrated the international day of the cat with a quick illustration done in less than an hour... I hope you like it !!😺

ES|| Para celebrar que ya casi tenemos el otoño encima, voy a enseñaros una serie de heladitos que he estado haciendo en mis tiempos libres (he de confesar que gran parte la he hecho viendo películas de miedo… ¡Viva el contraste!). Pues como os decía, he estado jugando con el illustrator, que lo tenía un poco aparcado porque siempre acababa aplicando el color con Photoshop o de forma tradicional, así que he estado usando nuevas herramientas y formas de trabajar y probando estilos nuevos. Al final tengo tres helados sonrientes de sabores bien distintos (creo que este es mi favorito de entre los tres diseños, ya me diréis cuál es el vuestro cuando los haya colgado todos), pero con dos propuestas de acabado diferente para cada uno de ellos. A vosotros cual os gusta más: con la línea negra o con las líneas de colores?🍦🍓

EN|| To celebrate that autumn it’s almost upon us, I’m going to show you a series of ice creams I’ve been making in my free time (I must confess that I’ve made most of them watching scary movies… I love the contrast between what I was watching and the piece I was doing!). Well, as I told you, I've been playing with illustrator, which I had put on hold because I’ve always ended up applying the color with Photoshop or in a traditional way. So, I've been using new tools and ways of working and trying new styles. In the end I have three smiling ice creams with very different flavors (I think this is my favorite one of the three designs, I hope you’ll tell me which one is yours when I’ve posted them all), but with two different looks for each of them. Which do you like the best: the one with the black line or the one with the colored lines? 🍦🍓
