I've seen about your ukyo x mermaid!reader and it got me thinking I have some fics with the same theme, hear me out!!

Mermaid reader that live in the middle of the ocean, like an orca mermaid following other orcas and migrating peacefully until A DAMN GIGANTE BROWN THING APPEARS OUT OF NOWHERE IN THE SEA???? Mermaid!reader gets like: "???wtf is that, I never seen or heard of anything like that in my entire life" and then proceeds to approach the gigant brown thing that floats and moves strangely fast for something that doesn't has fins. Reader keeps approaching carefully and alert to any signs of aggression til the point she can touch the giant thing and realizes it's not something alive, it doesn't react to touch or any contact at all. She was thinking about what in the damn seas could that be when she hears noises that look like something communicating up on the surface. She emerged and started to follow the sound, noticing it comes from even above. (Skipping some stuff to get straight to the point I want , but I'm sure you know what happened in the meantime 🙏)

After finding a hole in the structure, reader was FINALLY able to see what was inside the floating island. That's when she sees the Kos talking in a barely recognizable language, it did ring a bell but it sounded odd at the same time, reader could only catch some words here and there, something about fish, catching, food, etc. She was trying to figure more words when Gen noticed a little face peaking from from the side of the Perseus, pearls eyes watching carefully while they talked, he could recognize the look of curiosity in those eyes, and he kept looking out for them, to curious to pay attention to the conversation. That's until Senku also find the light pink eyes stalking them. Reader jumped straight into the waters and submerged to keep hidden from the strange creatures, hiding down the boat hull (don't know if the spell is correct) when she sees heads looking around in the water, looking for her.

She didn't know if they were dangerous, but surely the curiosity was getting into her to follow them and see where they want to go.

I am so stressed out because imagine if there is a meteorite planning to destroy our earth in 378 days and for some reason I get voted to go to the North Sentinel Island and communicate with them to warn them but they have no concept of our language, how would I tell them?

I guess I could demonstrate numbers with material, and days with drawings of the sun, but how would I tell them that we might destroy the meteorite in many tiny pieces or maybe not? How do I communicate the concept of maybe?

Communicating any kind of concept with a tribe of people that have no concept of language in the same way we do would be extremely difficult.

Maybe just means that it's not quite yes but not quite no. So I suppose you could use pictures to do that. Yes is one side, No is the other, and Maybe is the middle.

Touchstarved Headcanons: Tsukasa Shishio

General:

Sudden and unexpected touch can make him flinch

He's had a bad childhood and spent a majority of his life fighting people for money, so his relationship with it is a little iffy.

That's not to say he doesn't like it, he just has to be warned first

Loves hugs from his sister and other gentle-handed people

Tries really hard post stone war to reorient his thoughts and be more accepting of casual touch

With His Partner:

It takes time for him to warm up to touching and being touched by you

But once he's fully comfortable, it's fairly constant.

He's a lot like Senku, where he'll find little reasons to touch you at all times of day.

He'll hold your hand, brush his fingers over your arms, tug on the back of your shirt so that you don't go too far, and find reasons to lean his weight on you (just a little, he's genuinely worried he'll hurt you).

Sleeps with his whole body wrapped around you like a giant cocoon, and will pout if you scoot away because you're too hot.

An absolute cuddle fiend

Would rather die again than move even the tiniest bit when you lay on top of him.

Loves when you hold his face

His body will follow your hands on instinct when you pull away, aching to get more of your touch

I don't know Aurora enough to give any real analysis, this is just the headcanon I have so far, I need way more data.

Like I'm low-key getting Aurora X Tsukasa vibes, both had a rough childhood, and maybe Aurora (even if not agreeing) would understand Tsukasa's reasoning. And he's good with kids.

Ukyo and Tsukasa are actually fairly good options. They're both patient and can roll with the metaphorical punches.

She'd definitely see Tsukasa's point, but think how we went about it was too much. She'd love how he's willing to own up to his mistakes and become a better person. Him being good with kids is just a nice bonus.

Ukyo is the type to help her stay grounded in reality. Aurora can get lost in her own head sometimes, so having someone willing to go find her and bring her back is a plus. He doesn't have much of a presence, but she has a big enough personality for both of them.

They're both good options for her for sure.

Cause like, here's the thing.

Tsukasa is one of those people that I firmly believe would have ended up at Senku's side, even if the world hadn't turned to stone (Gen also sits on this list, but that's a different post).

Think of how well they fit together almost immediately. How they match each other's wavelength from the moment Tsukasa wakes up, and how even after Tsukasa believes Senku is dead, he still carries the weight of their relationship. Of what could have been, had Senku just looked the other way.

Whether romantic or platonic, they were made for each other.

Anyway, now that I've rambled about that, have whatever this is as a little treat:

Platonic SenKasa

Tsukasa trusts Senku without question.

Sure, there are some things that he'll raise an eyebrow at, but in the end, if Senku says it, Tsukasa is rolling with it

This goes both ways

Senku will look to Tsukasa for his thoughts on a lot of things before going to anyone else.

Because Tsukasa will listen.

He will sit and let Senku talk until he works out the solution to whatever the problem was

Senku trusts Tsukasa with his life almost more than he does Taiju, and that's because he knows that if he needs someone to fight for him, Tsukasa will do it without hesitation.

They could almost be considered soulmates, if either of them believed in things like that

They aren't very physically affectionate with each other

Their platonic affection typically comes in the form of words and deeds

Tsukasa will often carry Senku on his back when he exhausts himself while scolding him for overexerting himself

Senku just rolls his eyes, and reminds Tsukasa that he also goes too far sometimes

Tsukasa is the person who gets the side-eye from Senku when someone says something objectively stupid/hilarious but no one is allowed to laugh (we all have had those moments you know what I'm talking about)

On nights when Senku can't sleep, Tsukasa is there.

"Late night, huh?" "Yeah." Neither of them speak for a moment. "Do you wanna talk about it?" "What, are you my therapist or something?" "No, just a friend." Senku huffs out a laugh. "You ever just want to go home?" Tsukasa thinks about the question for a while, taking his time to consider what Senku is actually asking him. "If I went home, I wouldn't get to spend time with so many great people," Tsukasa says. "I'm blessed to be here with you, Senku." "Gross, you sound like you're in love with me." Now Tsukasa laughs.

A personal headcannon of mine is that everyone who was petrified the 3700 years are all on varying degrees of touch starved, some might be more clingy or used more subtle touches around people. Especially for significant others, family and friends, now take that and applied it to the main who now is sperate from their s/o who by themself again but having the whole weight in getting the revial fluids or else. 😬

I imagine the like Suika they began to imagine their friends/family and their s/o encouraged them to continue that they'll be there supporting them, when ever they feel down. Heck, even just spending some time hugging the status or even rambling on how their day was to try to maintain some sort of sanity 🙃
