Haas DRS train 2: Electric Boogaloo
> gets a 50 place grid penalty for switching engines
> starts P20
> retires before the race even starts due to a gearbox issue
I would hate to be Pierre Gasly rn ðŸ˜ðŸ˜
In case you haven't seen it already: The Bahrain and Saudi Arabia GP will be held on Saturday NOT Sunday!! Unless you're Australian like me. Then they're on Sunday... 2am/4am 🥲🥲

heard the annual driver's dinner was good this year
Didn't get a video but here's Lewis's post-race interview speech:
"Since 2021 Ive just, everyday, getting up trying to fight to train to put my mind to the task and work as hard as i can with this amazing team. And this is my last race here at the British Grand Prix with this team. So i wanted to win this so much for them, because I love them, I appreciate them so much because of all the hard work they've been putting in all these years. I'm very grateful to everyone in this team everyone at Mercedes and all our partners, and otherwise to all our incredible fans. I can see you lap by lap as I was coming round and there's just no greater feeling than to finish at the front."
"A big big thank you to everyone back at the factory and here. I love you guys, god bless you."
Anybody that's feeling worried about Daniel's current quali performance and in particular his gap to Yuki (especially after having to listen to Will Buxton repeat every ten minutes on last weekend's broadcast that "Daniel's average quali gap to Yuki is the exact same as NDV's") needs to have a look at this brilliant data analysis by u/tomedunn on reddit.
Obviously Daniel ideally still needs to find a decent chunk of time vs Yuki in quali, but it's nowhere near as dire as Buxton (and many others) are making it out to be, and I think it does also corroborate Daniel's claim that this is not in any way a McL situation.
and with that, the 2024 season comes to an end
Daniel mentioning Liam Lawson will be taking his dad out for a lap in the Ford Supervan later today, is giving big bro little bro vibes
