~ Someone from Finland, over a Zoom call, said something that helps me change my life. . A conversation with a friend, on his terrace, can stay with me and help me embrace all that sparks joy. . A spring playlist appearing as a suggestion from YouTube turns out to be exactly what my heart needs to feel warm and hopeful. . If this isn't magic, I don't know what is. . Those inner, persistent nudges that illogically, consistently, lead to a spring of joy, each time listened to. . My body talking to me about how it feels, what it needs, how I can I provide for it. . A spontaneous text conversation at 4 pm on what scares me turns into a safe space for not just me, but for another one too. . If these aren't miracles, I don't know what are. . Remembering someone who has never left my heart despite more than a decade of not meeting each other. . If this isn't love, I don't know what is. . . ~ notes from everyday ~ . . P.S: A beautiful boat ride. 🌼
Hyori's Bed & Breakfast has been a non-pushy contender on my Netflix to-watch 'list' give and take, for the past 6 months.🍄
At the forefront are Lee Hyori and her husband Sang-Soon who live on Jeju island. The house in itself is modest (considering they have an entire field as a backyard and then some more). It serves as a reflection of the quiet, lazy life the couple prefers. 🍄
Episode 1 opens up to Hyori and Soon starting their day, sitting in their dining room sipping tea. Hyori is yet to figure out a camera angle that shies away from her nasal hair. She'll target Soon's next. 🍄
The couple are having second thoughts on signing up to have their home serve as a bed & breakfast for surprise guests. Living with 5 dogs and 2 cats (their children), it is Hyori and Soon's easy, nonchalant, loving camaraderie that I spot right away. 🍄
Having failed to look good on camera as they eat breakfast, the couple settles on prepping their home as the next B&B on Jeju. Their pace is slow, unhurried and they are very good with unintentional, slapstick comedy (especially the part when Hyori drops a comforter on Soon's head). 🍄
You'll see them clean, head out to get groceries, play with their pets and have a lot of moments where they don't have anything interesting for the camera. But rest assured, for the English subtitles deserve a mini Oscar. They do a hilarious 'reading between the lines' and accurate (read: LOL-worthy) interpretations of the on-goings in the house. 🍄
The episode ends with the to-be B&B owners having their last restful night of sleep as their first guests are due to arrive the next day. 🍄
My favorite bits:
1. Hyori and Soon's fail humor. 🍄 2. Little Mocha's (their tiny dog) adoption story. 🍄 3. Hyori's take on worldly possessions after she nearly buys the entire slipper shelf at a store. 🍄 4. Soon's adventurous-chef spirit. 🍄 5. Their drive to the local market filled with open highways, trees and sunsets. 🍄 6. Hyori and Soon's little tea setup in the dining room. 🍄 7. The house cats’ 'why do I tolerate these humans?' faces. 🍄 8. Hyori waking up after a nap. 🍄 9. The real reason why Soon married Hyori. 🍄

~ Our Beloved Summer ~ Favorite Moments/ / Stills (1) 🌺
~ I started watching Traveler (Season 2) yesterday and I am already in love with Kang Ha-Neul. Also, I didn’t expect Ong Seong Wu to be so timid and cute. I’d thought he’d be more of a snob, but he’s as soft as a puppy. Also, also, hello Argentina and Buenos Aires! ❤ ~

From: Episode 1
~ My favorite stills from Episode 1, Traveler (S2). I am only one done with a single episode and I am already dreading the end of this show. What a vibe, what a cast and what a beautiful, beautiful city. (Is there a way to live in a variety show forever?) ❤ ~

O, my heart.❤
~ A very proud moment for me. I completed a 100 blog posts of original, heartwork yesterday evening.
This blog has been a source of comfort, creativity, fulfillment and a space where I’ve learned the joy of putting in consistent work to build something from scratch.
The feeling is indescribable and for everyone here, supporting my journey, I thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Turning this into a beautiful memory today.🌼🥑 ~
I will get straight to the point: ‘Itaewon Class’ has been radical, powerful, inspiring and downright bomb. It is such a refreshing show and I am so glad to have watched it during this phase of my life.
The story centers around Park Saeroyi, a high school student who gets suspended for standing up against a bully and refusing to apologize for it. Even as life continues to knock him down, Saeroyi decides to get back up each time. His end goal is to bring down his rival, Chairman Jang Dae-Hee of the renowned food corporation, Janga.Co. As a part of his plan, Saeroyi decides to open his own pub in bustling Itaewon. Along the way, he meets and embraces a troupe of societal misfits who become the backbone of DanBam (his pub).
My Learnings from Itaewon Class:
1. Follow your gut, through and through.
I love Saeroyi for having such deep-rooted conviction in his beliefs and in his intuition. While he pursues his goal with logic and passion, it is his open heart that guides him through every rise and fall.
2. Be flexible; that's how you always remain a learner.
Another thing that I love about Saeroyi is the way he accepts new information and new mannerisms. He is open to suggestions, accepts when he is being stuck-up and rectifies his mistakes by learning how to be flexible.
3. Believe in yourself even when nobody does.
Man, this is such a spectacular thing to watch in Saeroyi, Yi-Seo and Hyeon-yi. Even when the world is against them, these 3 continue believing in themselves and that's exactly why they achieve remarkable things.
4. Have a vision for yourself.
It is delightful to meet goal-driven, visionary, Park Saeroyi even when he is far from where he wants to be. It is the vision that he's created for his life that drives him to be better and do better. Each act, word and thought is channeled for this vision and I loved, loved learning this from him.
5. Nobody can move mountains alone.
I love the DanBam family. I love how they have each other's back. I love seeing Saeroyi find a family once again. The people of DanBam prove that moving mountains is collective effort, not a solo job.
My last thoughts:

~ you owe yourself the love you crave for ~ . since we were children, we've been conditioned to see love as some thing outside of ourselves. We associate it with a soulmate, friends or family. . hence, to feel loved has always been a waiting game for someone's care and attention. To feel nourished, an external dependency. . often, we forget we are love-incarnates ourselves. We are independent lighthouses of love and are fully capable to provide ourselves with the detailed care we crave and need. . healthy companionship with ourselves or others can never exist if we keep seeking the love we need from an external resource and expect it consistently. . if we can just reconnect to that sweet spot which tells you what you need from time to time and ask ourselves how we can provide the same, love becomes an active force in our day-to-day living. . it stops being a dormant, passive energy that only springs up with external association. . loving ourselves isn't a choice, really. Come to think of it, it is a very primal need on which rests the very core of our being. . here's to hoping we look at ourselves a little differently today.🌼

~ Today, I want to share something very dear to my heart, something that's become my Golden Mantra of sorts. I recently learnt and experienced that whenever you feel you're at a dead-end, lost or have 10% of clarity on a subject: . a) Pray: Take that 10% clarity and go ahead with it rather than wait for the remaining 90%. With that 10%, head to the Universe or to whichever divine energy you believe in and ask for help. Pray: about your worries, your hopes, your want for guidance and rest all of it on the Universe. Let it be there for you. . b) Act: Once you've teamed up with the Universe, pinpoint areas where you can start taking immediate action. What is the work you need to put in and in which areas? Prayer is one half of the Divine Teamwork, taking action is the next. It solidifies your hope and makes you feel actively responsible for your path. It makes you feel like a thriving part of it rather than a passive onlooker. . c) Surrender: Once you've acted in the best way you could, however minimal your actions might feel at times, surrender the outcome to the universe. Trust the divine plan and trust its timing. It is never wrong. Let go of your mind's need to control the result and trust the universe's splendid, ever-caring magic. . . P.S: Most often than not, we are the only ones in our way. Let's open our hearts to help (both divine and human), and let's learn to get out of our own way. 🌼 ~ . . ~ notes from everyday ~
