God Help Me 😭

Hi my loves! I'm just coming on here to talk about something that's been brought to my attention. So apparently it's become a trend on tiktok for people to print/download fics (particularly on ao3) bind and sell these fics on sites like etsy.

First of all, this is really fucking illegal. You cannot, I repeat YOU CANNOT sell and profit off copyrighted characters without a license. Which all of our fics have. You are putting us fanfic writers at risk of getting our sites shut down and our fics taken down. This is a huge legal issue. The reason why fanfics are allowed on sites like ao3, tumblr, wattpad, what have you, is because we DON'T profit off of them. This is illegal and could lead to our sites being shut down or put behind paywalls (like wattpad is now).

Second, it is absolutely fucked up that people are printing fics and passing them off as their own to sell them. I shouldn't even have to explain what's wrong with this. Especially when it seems like this is being done without the permission of the writers.

What I'm trying to get at, fanfic writers, stay vigilant, it is recommended we start to add disclaimer that we do not authorize our work to be punished or sold for profit, maybe this will discourage people from doing it and might ultimately save our asses in legal matters. Keep an eye out for this. And readers, you can be on the lookout too! If you see something like this happen don't be afraid to let the original writers known so we can confront these people!

For the sake of our entertainment, our joy and the happiness that fanfic brings to our fandoms, we cannot allow this to continue.

I don't know how many people are aware, but on the 2nd of March, there will be a shutdown for Palestine. It's a one-day strike.

For one day, everyone is encouraged to stop posting as they usually would and instead focus on Palestine. Please use this day if not any other to share information, to protest, to donate, etc. Do what you can. Even sharing information and speaking up helps.

Of course, it is encouraged to share and post about Palestine every day you possibly can. But this day is more important than ever as it marks the day that a global call to end the genocide is occurring.

Just saw a post about someone dragging RE6 with a heavily biased opinion, even to the point of recommending people to NOT play it, and I'm honestly pissed rn. Just typed a whole response in the notes/replies and I have no shame (though it makes me wish that tumblr had a larger character limit for notes.)

Still currently learning the difference between the two as a 20yr old and boy is it fucking hard to tell them apart.
