Head drawings of 8 humans. From left to right, top to bottom they are:
Mensah: She has a round face and very dark skin. Her light brown is braided into cornrows with her bangs being a poof of unbraided curls. She has dark stubble, a scar across her nose, and two beauty marks on her cheek. She wears a bluish-green shirt with a round upturned collar, a bluish-green beaded necklace, and silver hoop earrings. Her eyes are bluish-green.

Pin-Lee: She has a round face and light olive skin. Her hair is black with gray streaks, tied back into a loose bun. She wears a light gray vest over a black collared shirt and a choker with a round silver pendant. She also dons light gray eyeshadow, black lipstick, and several silver earrings. Her eyes are medium gray.

Bharadwaj: She has a long, triangular face and medium brown skin. She has long, wavy reddish brown hair with bangs. She has a beauty mark just below her maroon eyes. She dons a red sweater, red scarf, and faint lipstick.

Ratthi: He has medium brown skin and a square face framed by wavy black hair and a short beard. His hair is tied back into a ponytail with a golden bow. He wears a matching golden bow around his neck and a gold and white shirt. His eyes are good, matching the golden strand in his bangs.

Arada: She has light tan skin and an oval face covered in freckles. Her black hair is short and shaggy, with orange streaks at the top. Her shirt is various shades of orange with a dark brown pearl on the collar. She wears an orange triangular earring and two bronze eyebrow rings.

Overse: She has a long, triangular face and dark brown skin with some much lighter patches. Her dark brown hair is long and straight, with bangs swooping to the side. She wears a necklace with a triangular bronze pendant, a dark brown tank top, and a light brown shoulderless sweater. Her eyes are medium brown.

Gurathin: He has a triangular face and light peach skin. His auburn hair is styled in ringlets, which are tied back, and with curly bangs. He is wearing a light pink sleeveless top and over that an asymmetrical transparent magenta shawl with rose gold chains on one side as well as dangly rose gold earrings and a rose gold necklace with a pink diamond pendant. He has on blush and shiny magenta lipstick and eyeshadow, matching his magenta eyes. He has a light scar across his lips. Running from his forehead to his ear is a rose gold augment.

Volescu: He has a triangular face and dark brown skin. His black dreadlocks fade to purple at the tips. A line of purple squares is painted under one eye as well as a line of purple lipstick on his lower lip. He has a poofy black goatee. He is wearing a dangly purple earring and a matching purple shirt and jacket. His eyes are light violet.

One of the things I love about TMBD is how certain things are described with far less detail than you would expect, including the appearance of several major characters, leaving a lot of wiggle room for interpretation.

I did, to varying degrees, pull from the Subterranean cover for Home: Habitat, Range, Niche, Territory (Book 4.5) for the characters that appear in the illustration, but the information in the text was the only strict limit I put on myself.

Well that, and the colors assigned to each character. There’s no way I wasn’t going to give each of them a specific hue.

Been seeing a lot of moodboard-inspired furry character designs floating around, so I thought I’d take a stab at it. This was initially supposed to just be a colored sketch based on a bunch on whatever rainbow-y photos I found interesting, but ended becoming something way more polished. I’m pretty surprised with myself.

Some friendly fire revenge of CherriLyme’s meerkat. Picked him cause I used to be obsessed with meerkats as a preteen. I finished the main drawing yesterday, but noticed earlier today that they had added that they’d like to see Thomas drawn being clumsy, and it honestly worked out in my favor cause I am not the best at drawing characters interacting with furniture and he’s a bit unbalanced in the main drawing.
