Well fucks? Get to it!
Recently found this lovely manga at my library with what seems to me like great aroace representation! 'I want to be a wall' by Honami Shirono.
It's about an aromantic asexual woman and a gay man who marry for appearances and become close friends. (In Japan, asexual and aromantic are often referred to as the same thing, which is explained in the volume translation notes btw)
Here's a few pages that I thought did a good job of discussing things. As an enby who likes romance in stories (especially BL) but not so much in real life, I felt pretty seen.
Trirat?
Trirat.
Vash ver (+ Meryl)! They are coping.
Spoke to a gen z person the other night and apparently the young folks don't know about the very legal sites from which you can access public domain media (including Dracula, The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, and other Victorian gothic horror stories)?
Like this young person didn't even know about goddamn Gutenberg which is a SHAME. I linked to it and they went "aw yiss time to do a theft" and I was like "I mean yo ho ho and all that, sure, but. you know gutenberg is entirely legal, right?"
Anyway I'm gonna put this in a few Choice Tags (sorry dracula fans I DID mention it though so it's fair game) and then put some Cool Links in a reblog so this post will still show UP in said tags lmao.
New reality show idea: house renovation competition called "Generation Wars" and all the couples are, obviously, from different generations. They're all terrible at reno and their taste all embodies the worst stereotypes of their generation e.g. the millennial pair likes to paint everything beige or white.
Viewers will hate-watch the crap out of it and roast the contestants online after each episode. The contestants could use their tiktok to keep up the hype and hate between episodes.
Gen alpha are probably too young to compete, but maybe they could be assistants or guest judges?
Older version of Renga is so in loveee 🤧
PLEASE DO NOT REPOST
thanks!
Is Asta the only Black Bull who got recruited through the magic knights entrance exam instead of getting randomly scouted by Captain Yami? Is he the only one (other than perhaps the captain himself) who actually passed the exam?
The Disastrous Life of Saiki K is something like 75% gag with the rest being fluff and serious, and the fanfiction that focuses on the 25% is so fucking visceral.
The negative side effects of Saiki's powers are described with graphic depictions of migraines, nausea and dizziness. The slow, reluctant realization that his friends like him and he likes them is heavy, sad and joyous. Makoto and Kusuke's behavior goes from pathetic to dangerous, with the horror of it written so vividly I have to take a break from reading. The autism and aro/ace vibes, already present and relatable in canon are even stronger.
The difference between canon and fanfiction, wow.
Some cute Sk8 couples enjoying the beach <3
