Romanticizing Paimon

(myth retelling)

In the beginning, Paimon was not a demon, but an angel, wise and radiant, close in spirit to the archangel Lucifer, whom he called his friend. When Lucifer rebelled and was cast into the pit, Paimon, confused and heartbroken, approached the Throne of Heaven, asking not for forgiveness or rebellion, but understanding.

But the heavens were firm, and the answer he received did not soothe him, for he saw only the injustice done to his friend, not the pride that had sparked the war. His grief curdled into quiet disobedience. He remained in Heaven, but no longer sang. He stopped flying. He turned his face away.

So God, with sorrow, sent him down, not in wrath, but in release. For one who could not bear Heaven without his companion was already lost to it.

When he fell, Satan welcomed him, not as a servant, but as kin.

“You sought me,” said the fallen Morning Star. “Now I shall make you king, rule beside me.”

And so Paimon became a king of Hell, not out of ambition, nor evil, but loyalty, the kind that damns as deeply as it loves.

when i was in middle school nickelodeon on directv broke and it froze on the same frame for five hours. which would not have been so bad, except it was during the episode of spongebob where he goes to live with the jellyfish. specifically the scene where he’s naked and covered in sea urchins and flopping all over the place trying to get them off. and it froze on the frame where spongebob was facedown on the ground, naked. so he was laying there like that in complete silence for five hours. we would change the channel back every so often to see if he’d gotten up, but he was still like that when we went to bed. none of my friends had directv so when i asked them the next day they hadn’t seen it, but my brother and i were pretty convinced that spongebob was dead.

Alawites are a religious minority in Syria and we are currently facing genocide.

If you're out of the loop, in December Syrian dictator Bashar al-Assad was deposed and replaced with leadership from Hay'at Tahrir al-Sham, a terrorist organization with ties to al-Qaeda. In the months since then Alawite genocide has progressed pretty heavily.

1. This division goes back to the days of Assad.

2. This was mostly skipped but it's not hard to know when someone is an Alawite given their name and where they're from.

3. In the past, Alawites suffered from extreme poverty and lack of opportunities and were forced to either join the military or work government jobs. After the regime change mass layoffs from government positions hit Alawite majority areas, leaving thousands without stable income.

4. During the so-called "security campaigns" conducted by government forces, Alawite civilians were detained and called "Nusayri dogs/pigs/etc" (Nusayri is a derogatory term for Alawite) and sometimes forced to make animal noises (such as barking).

5. The government sent security forces to the Alawite-majority coastal areas, who often conduct the aforementioned "security campaigns", such as one two days ago in Latakia city that had at least 13 dead.

6. Whenever the government conducted the "security campaigns" they said it was against "remnants of the regime" to sway public opinion among non-Alawites into thinking these people were the ones that killed civilians in the days of Assad.

7. After some minor skirmishes between Alawites and Security forces in Jableh city, the government sent the military to the coast.

8. As I'm writing this multiple massacres against Alawites have occurred and are occurring in the coastal countryside.

9 and 10 are yet to start.

We call for the UN and the international community to step in to end this ASAP. Please help us.

This comes WAAYY way after Gavriel and Jack's relationship really takes off.

The other members were initially very against Gavriel and Jack's relationship, Gavriel Huffman included. However, Jack is eventually able to earn the respect of the other mobsters after proving himself able to protect both their boss [Gavriel] and the other members of their group, time and time again.

They swore to do him favors and other errands as a compensation for his benevolence. Jack himself didn't mean for this to happen, he just didn't want anyone to get hurt and his kind heart has won the group over in turn.

Gavriel feels little to absolutely no animosity in Jack and his place so his body and mind just goes “safe mode: on” even if he doesn't it want to lol. It's like he's recharging after living in high a stress environment his entire life, he's still tense around Jack but his body is like "it's safe here" and just goes honk shoo honk shoo 😪

I mean, he's always living life staying up late working and managing underlings, doing meetings, keeping up with contracts, having often violent confrontations, meh. Can you blame a guy for being an easily irritable tired prick because of all'at?

"It's mandatory for all Toons to learn at least basic medical knowledge." YEAH ABOUT THIS. Small worldbuilding drop, the places populated by Toons have insanely high healing properties. Hospitals there are seldom built for the Toons themselves, but more so for the other genres who get injured a lot more easily :)
