there is an insane amount of antisemitism floating around right now.
i just want to say:
this blog loves and supports jewish people.
this blog does NOT conflate the israeli government, or the atrocities it commits, with jewish people.
this blog is disgusted with those who use or express antisemitism.
this blog knows that if someone needs to invoke antisemitism, they do not actually care about helping palestine or the palestinian people.
this blog will do its best to ensure that it remains a safe space for all.
What if Atsushi knows sign language?? Like in the orphanage the kids would use it to communicate sometimes without the staff knowing, so even if Atsushi wasn't involved he gradually learned sign language to find out where to sneak food, good hiding spots if something happens, and how to get away easily if you do something. He knows how to sign fast too cause the kids would cut deals with Atsushi that if he used the fact that he was much scrawnier than the other kids to do something, then they would split something, mostly food though. So he can sign fast, fluently, and easily understand it even if it's rushed or unclear to most.
I will never ever get over the fact that Dazai let himself get captured by the Port Mafia on purpose. Facing the consequence to see people again who he knows won’t welcome him with a hug on purpose. Letting himself get chained up in their torture chamber on purpose. Getting punched by his former subordinate on purpose. Mocking said former subordinate with his new subordinate, which leads to yet another punch in the face on purpose. Meeting his old partner who threatens, punches and fights him on purpose. And then that trashcan-man says with blood dripping from his mouth, a knife and a hand against his throat that he did all of this “mostly for Atsushi-kun”.
Talk about devotion, man.
The real reason why Atsushi shops at the same grocery store as Akutagawa is because the grocery store they both shop at is one of the Port Mafia’s money laundering schemes.
It’s not like Atsushi is completely unaware that it was a money laundering scheme, he just didn’t piece together that it was a Port Mafia money laundering scheme. He shops there anyway because Mori doesn’t know the average cost for most household products so everything is ridiculously cheap and also decent quality.
All of these used to be so common for people to show their appreciation of different fics and authors, and I think it’s a shame people don’t do it anymore. I love seeing fan work for my fics!!
As of the time of this post, AO3 has been scraped by yet another shady individual looking to make a quick buck off the backs of hardworking hobby writers. This Reddit post here has all the details and the most current information. In short, if your fic URL ends in a number between 1 and 63,200,000 (inclusive), AND is not archive locked, your fic has been scraped and added to this database.
I have been trying to hold off on archive locking my fics for as long as possible, and I've managed to get by unscathed up to now. Unfortunately, my luck has run out and I am archive locking all of my current and future stories. I'm sorry to my lovelies who read and comment without an account; I love you all. But I have to do what is best for me and my work. Thank you for your understanding.
Obsessed with vampires but specifically when they're really pathetic
If your story has different points of view, is it annoying to switch between them in a single chapter? Thank you!
I do that all the time, so I hope not! lol
seriously, though - as long as the switches are clear and don’t cause confusion you should be fine. I find it helps to use the horizonal rule in between viewpoints to show the flip in perspective.
Note: don’t use stylistic breaks between viewpoints (or scenes) like a series of asterisks or tildes etc. If someone is using a screen reader, it will read out each symbol that you use. Also using indicators like “Character A’s POV” tend to break up the story and take people out the narrative. Or at least they do for me.
Atsushi getting phantom pain from injuries that no longer exist.
Because Atsushi's ability has allowed him to survive, but never has it let him heal.
He's woken up and screamed grasping what should be a stump but is his leg.
He knows where every single scar should be. He's felt every stab, every burn even if only one actual scar remains.
Atsushi's foot hurts and he can feel the cool metal of the hammer in his hand like it's mocking him.
It's worse after Shibusawa, Atsushi can feel electricity dance across his skin and chokes back a sob. It's like he's burning from the inside out but he just smiles.
Atsushi who's asked what hurts and he just laughs because it's everywhere, all the time.
Because the mental ghosts of his past won't leave Atsushi alone, so why would the physical ones?
I am handing you this 30 second song I wrote and sang
