A very big crowd in attendance at Becky Katz 10 years in wood exhibit at the Casino Artspace Gallery. It was the first time I had a chance to see some of her work. I knew she was well known and respected in the Hamilton Art community. Swan watching over its last egg. I went down to Bayfront Park/Pier 4 to check on the status of the 3 nesting swan pairs in that area. I knew one pair had already abandoned it's nest. I saw that a 2nd pair at the north end of Bayfront had left their nest with 1 egg remaining (out of 6 or 7 originally). This swan was the last hold out at pier 4 near the Leander boat club. It only had 1 egg remaining out of 5. That egg is also likely not going to hatch. All of the swan eggs should have hatched about 3 weeks ago. Too much rain and cold weather early probably caused the eggs to fail. Sad but it happens. Taking my temporary roommate out for a walk on a nice Sun afternoon in her stylish harness and leash. She's still not used to the outdoors since she's only been outside about a half dozen times. But she immediately took to tree climbing her first time. She met her first dog (little lap dog) today and it was a peaceful and drama-free encounter. Hmm. Got up late this morning and found out No Hot Water in the apartment. I saw a plumbing truck outside so figured it would be fixed shortly. Hours later still not avail. Called super and she had posted a notice downstairs this morning that the tank had a crack - not particularly helpful. No Hot Water today or tomorrow. So I guess it's sponge baths in the kitchen sink ( washing the sink before and after). So I may not be as April (or June) fresh as I normally would be.
