Pixel Strut

Another snippet from the Pixel Art Project, which is one of a few but the main one going.  This dudes got a pretty wicked strut.  With as few pixels as I had to work with, it turned pretty hard pretty quick but I like the product.  Check out the making of here for all the janky steps.

Just finished up a big push for the Regulation Room new rule. Whenever I have some strict deadlines and a bunch of work, both my real and digital desktop are the first to suffer. Keanu and the Swaze helped me power through though. Now, to clean up those files!

Airline Colors

I’ve been flying more than usual lately. Sitting in airports, you get a good look at airline branding. For as much money as they must put into the marketing and collateral of their brand, so little of it stands apart from its competitors. I suppose this makes sense when all they’re really trying to do is appeal to the largest audience possible, and this will always involve snoozers design. I had to go a bit out of the way to try to find airlines that didn’t use only  red, white and blue (thanks Lufthansa). Feels good to return to some more "studies."

Rejected Tracks - The Sloest

This is one of many ‘rejected tracks’ in the Prescription Strength Hugs (my music-making moniker) archive. I recently stumbled upon this one and am not sure why it got axed, as I quite like it. Dug it out and illustrated the instrumentation and lyrics (which I typically hate displaying, but again, kind of liked them). Please enjoy.

Yesterday I posted a Happy New Year for all the folks who follow my blog. After that, I went about my work day as usual, getting back into the swing of things after a most excellent break the past week and a half. During lunch, however, I checked the blog, I suppose egotistically, and the strange and happy dragon on the front page really struck me. I made a few doodles on a notepad and surmised what he or she might look like at different angles. As I did, a mascot for the year of 2012 took shape and seemed rather undeniable once done in color. This is Newton.

I DR NY

My wonderful friend has been going to medical school for long enough to be forced to decide where to do her residency.  The possibles were Boston, NYC, or Philadelphia.  Thankfully for all, especially me who has come to rely on her medical advice, she will remain in NY!  As a not-going-away present, I painted her a little something because she will, in fact, be stethoscoping New York. Watercolor (which is awesomely cheap) on water color paper (which is awesomely pricey.)

My sister has this dog named Mabel, she's a real piece of work (the dog). I made this for her (my sister).
