Hannibal 1.01, "Apéritif"
how wanting to talk to moots but having crippling anxiety feels
I think watching that one scene in Polar was the first time I ever felt like I'd glimpsed at something truly illicit, I was never supposed to know what Mads Mikkelsen's ass looked like
Everything I read by @cervviidae is so heartbreaking and heartwarming at the same time, I cannot BELIEVE I never found them before this year.
Their fic èclair is so tender, and I've got more of them lined up to write full reviews on, but this one is so heartachingly sweet; it's a testament to Hannibal's love for Will and his fear of rejection, and of Will's love for Hannibal despite him being a fool.
you ever read a fic that makes you sob your heart out when you should be sleeping because
this one from @cervviidae pried me open and pulled the tears out so skillfully I’m left feeling soft and changed and in complete awe
I keep thinking about this ever since discovering Death and Floral perfumery. They have such unique scents and I think I remember one smelling like a baby deer? I'm not sure, but I need some people who are knowledgeable on unique fragrances to answer this question!!
theres no such thing as tmi to me. i want to live in your ribcage.
Alien pulling your sleeve to get your attention: and who is this Cunt you all serve
need a destiel fic where castiel's obsession with dean borders on creepily obsessive but dean is a little freak so he likes it
Solo Leveling | ☆☆☆1/2
Hi! I binged seasons one and two of Solo Leveling last night and I have to give kudos to the animation team that carried the entire story. Solo Leveling has been hyped up for me for a long time, especially in a family who watches anime, but I was surprised when the show kind of fell flat. I LOVE an underdog story and I really loved how Sung Jinwoo powered up throughout season one, but after he became stronger it just kind of...becomes a bit boring plot wise.
Still, I can't deny that the show is addicting. I couldn't stop watching because I loved the amazingly animated fight scenes and it's always really entertaining to see the mc beat up bad guys. It just gets to a point where the bad guys are just there to make Jinwoo look good and the other powerful main/side characters are there to just marvel at Jinwoo's power.
I was watching it with my sibling and he says, "This is just aura leveling."
And oh my GOD, it really is just aura leveling. Everyone is fighting each other's auras and Jinwoo becomes edgier and edgier throughout the anime. Sometimes scenes would feel corny because you know that Jinwoo is going to win, but he starts screaming and yelling about how he'll never lose. Really, the fatal flaw with this anime is that we know he's going to win and become even more ridiculously strong, so his epic comebacks end up feeling a little bit over the top.
just had a feeling throughout the show that Solo Leveling was written by someone who wanted to feel really cool
Still, the world building is VERY interesting. I was confused in the beginning of the show because there were people with medieval armor fighting dungeons, but then it cuts to modern city scenes. The explanation of the gates popping up in random parts of the city is so cool, especially when we learn that the world relies on Hunters to keep them safe.
Then, there's the politics surrounding hunting that really fascinate me. Especially, when a character says that S-rank hunters are pretty much above the law. I literally said, "WHAT?!" out loud. It makes sense because hunting is a relatively young business, but it was shocking nonetheless. I could go more into this, but there's just too much to analyze and not enough room.
In the end, Solo Leveling just felt like a lot of mc dick-stroking and aura maxxing with a smidgen of plot.
Hey, this wasn't me trying to yuck your yum though. People prefer shows where the mc is a total badass and I respect that. Personally, I just prefer a more flawed main character who loses and rises back up. I want to feel and believe the desperation of Sung Jinwoo, but when all he does is win, it's hard to cheer him on.
I'm really enjoying what little plot I'm getting though and I can't wait for Jinwoo to solve the mystery of the "System" keeping him alive and the mysterious monsters that glitch and seem to have a past. Who knows, maybe it'll save the show for me and Solo Leveling will get a higher rating!
Anyways, we left off on a cliffhanger, so I'm excited for the next episode to come out! I have a feeling though that Jinwoo is going to save the day...again...and do it relatively easily...and people are going to stare in awe at him and main characters are going to be reduced to damsels in distress...and so on and so on until the show ends...

Cackled at the thought of Hannibal being a famous cook on youtube who invites people on his channel for mukbangs "HUMAN MEAT MUKBANG"
I am not a fan of mukbang videos but I would gladly watch Will Graham eating. I think he is very satisfying to watch.

Unable are the Loved to Die | Peter Parker Fic
(June 2011)
“Is killing people wrong?” Peter asked.
Mary put the pencil she was holding down and looked at her creation. Peter was sitting in Richard’s chair with his head resting in his arms on the table. He looked so innocent then, with his cherub cheeks, wide eyes, and freckles, but the question that fell from his mouth was so complex.
How could a robot understand morality?
“Yes,” Mary said.
“Then, why do I do it?”
“Because, it's what you were made to do.”

When Tony Stark recovers a shut down cyborg on a routine Hydra raid, he makes it his own personal mission to get the bot working again.
This story idea has been floating around my head for a long time! I only have a couple chapters written, but it's been an interesting one to play around with. Peter Parker or 'SPY-DER' is a decommissioned Hydra killing machine created by none other than Richard and Mary Parker. In Tony's excitement to apply the Ultron program to his Iron Legion, he accidentally wakes up not one, but two murder bots.
Please, Don't be Cruel | Hannigram Fic
Hannibal stopped scrubbing the dishes, his hands hidden beneath the soapy water, and Will was oblivious to the knife hidden beneath the surface.
He misinterpreted Hannibal’s silence for guilt and he sighed, leaning against the man’s arm to convey that he wasn’t mad at him. Will said, “I just don’t want Jack to get any wrong ideas, okay? I would hate for you to go to jail because of a stupid pun.”
“Just to clarify, you’re talking about me being…”
“The Chesapeake Ripper.”
“Ah…”
-
Will thinks that he and Hannibal are in a relationship. Hannibal thinks that he and Will are just close friends. Will also thinks that Hannibal knows that he knows that he's the Chesapeake Ripper.

Eileen (2023) | Fan Theory
I rewatched Eileen (with my sister who loved the movie btw) and I just had a thought pop into my head! I don't know if this is a known thing or if someone has already thought of this, but my theory is that Rebecca is a killer and her modus operandi is finding an unsuspecting person to frame for her crimes!
I believe that Rebecca finds a person who "shares the same ideals" as her and makes them complicit in her kill, then has that person take the fall. Her victim in this case is Eileen, a budding murderer who Rebecca knows she can manipulate.
I had a feeling that throughout the movie Rebecca didn't really care for Eileen. Rebecca tends to talk over her and never really listens to what Eileen says. Not to mention, Rebecca essentially love bombs her, knowing that Eileen is a very lonely and isolated young woman.
Was Rebecca ever a real person? Was her crying and screaming all just an act? Did she find young men wronged by the system and enact her own kind of justice by killing the people responsible for them? Did she kill someone at her previous job then move on to Massachusetts where she chose her next victim?
This movie was so good because it really makes you stop and think. It's so worth it to watch a second time just to pick up on all the little nuances and foreshadowing.
Anyways, this was my insane person ramble. I could elaborate more on the theory, but it's one in the morning and I'm SUPER tired. Thank you and goodnight <3
Eileen (2023) | ☆☆☆☆
(spoilers ahead!)
Today, I watched Eileen and it surpassed any expectations I had going in. Anne Hathaway and Thomasin McKenzie's acting in this movie was incredible and the cinematography was to die for. Perfectly dark and intimate. The buildup of the story left something to be desired, but the twist at the end was done so well that I physically slapped my hand against my mouth in disbelief.
The way Anne Hathaway delivered the line, "The first thing you need to know, this isn't my house. This is the Polk house. I have Mrs. Polk tied up downstairs." Chills.
My favorite scene though, was a bit earlier in the kitchen when Rebecca says, "Tell me, honey...what would make a person want to kill their father?" Eileen replies, "Everybody wants to kill their father." Rebecca's eye twitches and she says, "No they don't. Where did you hear that?"
I thought this exchange was PERFECT. Eileen is completely oblivious to her own psychopathy and capacity for violence, up until the point where she shoots Mrs. Polk and excitedly devises a plan to hide the body. We're led to believe (at least I was led to believe) that Rebecca was the one hiding a secret murder-y alter ego, but then Eileen actually acting on her intrusive thoughts in the end (shooting Mrs. Polk) was a great twist after all the fake-outs.
Also, I love the way we become desensitized to Eileen's intrusive thoughts throughout the movie. Because Eileen thinks that her violent fantasies are normal, we end up just brushing over her thoughts of killing herself/her father until her dark side appears with a literal bang.
Eileen thinks that everyone thinks the way she does and it comes as a surprise when she realizes that she isn't like every one else. Eileen kills Mrs. Polk and she does it with a sort of detached calmness that is so striking against Rebecca who was shaking, screaming, and crying. There's something terribly wrong with Eileen, whereas Rebecca had made a terrible mistake and was trying to fix it.
(Rebecca: "Why did you shoot her?"
Eileen: "I was upset.")
The scene also highlights the fact that Rebecca would never be able to love/accept Eileen because they are not alike. Although it pains me to say it (because I really wanted them to run away together), Rebecca was simply a stepping stone for Eileen in her journey of self discovery.
This made me recall the conversation Eileen had with her father. He said, "Some people...they're the real people. Like in a movie, they're the ones you're watching. They're the ones making moves. And other people...they're there filling the space. That's you, Eileen."
At the end of the movie, Eileen becomes one of the "real people" and smiles.
I feel like I could talk about this movie WAY more and do a better in depth analysis, but I just wanted to briefly talk about some of my favorite parts <3
