I hope this message reaches you in moments of peace and reassurance. Today I am writing to you from the heart of a war-torn land where dreams are shattered and lives are changed forever. My name is Ibrahim, 27 years old from Gaza City, Palestine, the eldest of my parents, and this is my family. I have three brothers, three sisters, my brother’s wife and his two children. I am writing this appeal in the hope of saving my family from the incomprehensible horrors that have been happening in Gaza since October.

I was an engineering student, but the ongoing war has shattered my life, my studies, and most tragically, my family’s future.

On October 12, 2023, our house was bombed and completely destroyed. Three of our relatives were killed in the attack. My family of 12 - my parents, my brothers, and my brother’s children - barely escaped with our lives. Since then, we have been displaced several times, fleeing from one place to another under the constant threat of bombing. We have lost everything: our home, our possessions, and the most basic necessities of life.

We are now in Deir al-Balah, living in unbearable conditions, without proper shelter from the winter cold. We have no bedding or blankets to keep warm. Food is scarce and expensive when available. An 11-pound bag of flour costs $350. My father has severe back problems, my mother needs surgery for kidney stones, and the children are sick because of the poor living conditions.

Our fishing boats – our family’s only source of income – were destroyed in the war. Now we have nothing left to rebuild our lives.

Urgent help is needed to save our lives and our families to get out of the war to safety and to have an urgent surgery for my mother and buy medicines for my father. 😥✋⛔

We are also suffering from famine. 😢

Our suffering and hardship started on 14th October, 2023 when my family was forcibly displaced from the north to the south under a life-threatening situation. As a result, our houses were completely destroyed and demolished, and our business accordingly went with the wind. Nothing has been left to be a source of livelihood. No shelters to house us nor a livelihood source to live on.

We have been living miserably in tents since the early days of the war. Life had become very hard and tough. No means of life still exists. Getting the least level of life is now hard and impossible. All our hope is to secure the daily basic necessities but this seems more often impossible that is why we are suffering the hardship of life. You can't imagine how hard it is to get food, drink water, medicine and other facilities. Life has become dire and sad in addition to the hot weather inside the hot tents that adds to our pain and unbelievable sufferings. Words can't show the miserable situations and circumstances we are experiencing nowadays due to the unfair war.

A part of our daily sufferings to get the least of what we need. Imagine how you feel when you wait for at least four hours in queue .Things are the worst one has ever

experienced. That is why I am asking for you generous contribution to help me secure the least of what we daily need and to find safety and peace for the twenty-member family who are now tasting all forms of torture and sorrow.

Every day we wake up to find things move from bad to worse. No sign is there for the war to end and this add to our unhappiness and miserable life. Despair and hopelessness have become new forms of our life as we are now homeless , displaced and jobless.

The war has entered its year and a half and we are still suffering from hunger, fear and terror. This is not the life we dreamed of. We dreamed of a life full of security and stability in our beautiful home with my beautiful family, but these dreams evaporated with the beginning of the genocidal war. We did not make mistakes or commit any sins. We just want to live in peace and build a beautiful future for our children. Diseases have invaded our bodies. Insects walk on us day and night, poisonous insects. Our simplest wish has become to live in a home, to find easily available food, clean water, medicine, and even cleaning materials. We cannot find them. No shampoo, no soap, no detergents, no medicines for diseases. Polio has spread due to the widespread pollution that has occurred. For Ahmed Al-Habil, a fisherman from Gaza, this is not just a thought experiment—it’s his reality. Ahmed once lived a simple, dignified life by the sea, supporting his family of six. The sea was his solace and his source of sustenance. But in an instant, his dreams and stability were destroyed. His fishing boat, his job, and his home were obliterated in the chaos of war. Left with nothing but faith and hope, Ahmed is now grappling with an unimaginable struggle.

Since October 7th, Ahmed, his wife, four young children, and his elderly parents have endured relentless displacement—fleeing from Nuseirat to Khan Younis, to Rafah, and now to a tent in Deir al-Balah. With each move, they have faced hunger, malnutrition, and the suffocating fear of violence. His children—Omar (10), Khadija (9), Ali (6), and Zain (3)—are deprived of the innocence of childhood, their laughter replaced by cries of hunger and cold. Ahmed's 72-year-old father battles chronic diseases, and his 70-year-old mother suffers from diabetes and debilitating spinal problems, compounding the family’s hardship.

Yet, amid this devastation, Ahmed’s resilience shines. He is pleading for help to rebuild a life of dignity and peace—a life where his children can play without fear, his parents can receive the care they need, and his family can once again dream of a brighter future.
