Jewish Holiday Miku - Rosh Hashana ππ―π
Has it accrued to you that the reason the left hates jews is because you people are fucking awful??? The problem is you!!!
antisemitism is not the fault of jews. ever.
got jumpscared looking at my calendar and realizing the high holy days are RIGHT THERE
saw this in tel-aviv yesterday
this shouldn't be a controversial opinion, but every single jew should be open and safe to discuss all types of antisemitism they receive. yes, even the jews you dont like. even the ones you think couldn't possibly experience those problems are allowed to talk about it. you are not the only person who exists, meaning that your morals do not dictate how everyone else thinks. so, let jewish people talk about antisemitism. even if you cant understand it, let us have a space to just talk about it.
you all better still vote democrat I'm serious for the sake of the whole world trump cannot get back into office whoever becomes the new candidate cannot be worse than trump
walking into erev rosh hashanah services tomorrow like "what a fucking year, my man"
Hi I am not a Jew and was wondering why you censor the word G-d like this? Additionally do you do this when speaking also and how does that work then? And if you do censor when speaking then what do you say instead of 'oh my god' or other such exclamations?
(I swear I read about this on another post but I forgot π )
Hope you don't mind such a stupid question lol. Please take care, may the hostages return safely soon πππ
hi! idk the specifications for it but i know that weβre not supposed to write out the name of gd (any of them, and especially tetragrammaton) and some jews, like myself, take it to the level of omitting the βoβ to maintain the respect of not writing gds name. like most things with jews, this isnβt true for everyone and there a great many jews who write gd with the βoβ
personally iβm too lazy for the dash so i write gd and assume people will get it through context. i only started doing this a few years ago and i found it made me more aware of how i relate to gd in the religious sense despite my not being particularly observant.
if anyones got better explanations or wants to share why they spell gd the way they do please do so! i love opinions! the more the merrier!
There's this specific dread that happens when you keep Shabbat and Yom Tov in a way that means you don't get news until after the holiday. That pit in your stomach when you turn your phone back on, waiting to see what horrifying things happened while you were observing the sacred day. Who desecrated it by shedding blood? What new horrors await?
Sometimes you get lucky, and things are relatively quiet.
Other times, you come back to the news that at least 11 innocent Druze children were dismembered by a Hezbollah rocket while they were out playing soccer.
I remember the first time I really felt this effect, coming back from Shabbat to the news that eleven Jews had been massacred in Pittsburgh. This past year has been a prolonged and repeated version of that, and shows no signs of slowing down.
It almost makes you want to avoid going offline at all, except that then you never get a break. It makes it so hard to want to keep Shabbat, knowing what may be on the other end of it.
