damn it's been a while since i've last posted any of my art. have some revamped ocs, i might post more about em in the future
if you’re ever in the position to choose between giving up and accepting defeat, and actually trying to fight the ancient unkillable god that is about to peel apart reality like a string cheese, remember this: scientifically speaking, you might as well give it a shot!
1.there were trees at the beginning of the world! there were trees so long ago that they predate bacteria that causes wood to decay. when a tree fell, it would lie there in stasis and there wasn’t any way of breaking down wood xylem on a molecular level in that way.
2. it seems obvious to say, but wood eating bacteria are literally incapable of comprehending what they’re breaking down. It’s just not information conciously available to a microorganism. they don’t know what they’re deconstructing, where it came from, bacteria have no way to even fathom the existence of a tree as a concept.
3. Regardless of the facts above, the world we live in today is a world where wood inevitably decomposes
it is worth fighting the unkillable god no matter how pointless it seems. it is worth taking the risk even though youre trying to accomplish something impossible. the reality in which you live was also once reality in which trees didn’t rot. You live in a reality that allows for existence before the possibility of destruction. you live in a reality where uncomprehending microbes break down matter that is so far beyond the scope of their comprehension that it feels comical to specify something so obvious. you live in a reality that occasionally allows unshakeable physical truths to be altered with no warning.
It is worth fighting the unkillable god because trees are so old they predate the source of their destruction, and it still did not spare them. It is worth fighting the unkillable god because bacteria rots unthinkingly, because there is room in our cosmos for destruction without comprehension on the part of the destroyer. It is worth fighting the unkillable god because now and then reality retracts the promise of immortality without fanfare, and when that happens there is no mercy for the ancient. the unmaking is not softer for the desecrators ignorance. for all things, existence is endless until the exact point where it ends.
so you might as well try to kill the unkillable god. it doesn’t seem likely, but at the beginning of the world, trees didn’t rot. so you never know! you never know
a weird thing is that we got waves of people going "who cares if its cringe or youre annoying! have fun!" but no one really learned how to accept the fact that some people will find you annoying or think your art or your work or posts or anyrhing sucks and thats ok. rather it just became a weird "if people think youre annoying theyre just morally bad. let people enjoy things!". like no i think this yes man only biome sucks and people are allowed to not like artstyles and shows and media and other things
whys combat and military gear always got to look so fucking cool when the people wearing them just objectively arent. thats unfair
Me talking about FP: hes an overhated, complex character. He was traumatized and hurt and out of fear he shut himself away from those who care about him. And even after everything, Moon still forgave him because she knew he never meant to hurt her, and whats why hes such a good char- [continues into a 3 hour long infodump about RainWorld as a whole]
Also me talking about FP: hes my skrunkly. My scrimblo. Hes a spoingle. Maybe even a miphy. Hes sad and wet and pathetic and i wanna give him a kiss on the forehead and throw him down the stairs. I wanna put him in the washing machine and hear him go thunk thunk thunk and wrap him up in warm cozy blankets afterwards. I wanna put him in the microwave. Hes a silly little guy. I think about him 24/7. If you look into my brain all you see is Pebbles
open carrying a loaded catapult in case i get attacked by an army while im at the grocery store
Death Stranding maybe? Has a lot of lore paralels with Rain world. First of all the post apocalyptic worlds and the deadly rain (though the rain is dangerous in different ways but it could work I think)
And also the lingering spirits of people who couldn't cross over into the afterlife (echoes and BTs respectively).
The plot of Death Stranding could also probably be altered slightly, and would fit with Rain World basically perfectly. Maybe with a slugcat being tasked to connect iterators to a communication network? Maybe Rubicon could be the parallel of the beach? Or maybe the depths idk. just makes me think of Sam as a slugcat lol. I might actually draw this now.
Anyway that was just my ramblings because I've been playing Death Stranding recently, and the plot is so batshit insane and I cannot stop thinking about it.
Wonder what other medias that can totally crossover rain world with, be it lore paralels or just cool for them to be in that setting
"YOU CAN'T BE THERIAN!!!!!!!?? YOU CAN'T BE ALTERHUMAN!!!!!!! YOU CAN'T BE OBJECTUM!!!!!$ THAT DOESN'T MAKE SENSE TO ME!!!!!!!!!"
