First of all, what is the definition of serial killer? A serial killer is by definition a person who murders three or more people in a period of more than a month, with space to "cool down" in between killings. For a serial killer, these murders must be separate events, usually motivated by thrill or pleasure.

Some of the more infamous serial killers actually have quite high IQ's: Rodney Alcala (170); Jeffrey Dahmer (144); Ted Bundy (136) or Edmund Kemper (145)

Although having high IQs isn't necessarily the norm, as most of them have rather average IQs.

They are often charismatic

Isolation is believed to be a trigger to commit violent acts, as it has been proven that many serial killers grew up quite isolated

In 1987 there was a record of active serial killers in the US (187 of them)

The vast majority of serial killers are male and about 51% of them are white

Most serial killers lack an obvious rational motive

Another categorization of serial killers is classic (often motivated by the sexual desire and stalking) and spree (motivated by the thrill of it)

its hard to explain, but i'll try. we want to encrypt, F.E. the word «apple». what do we need besides the alphabet? well, absolutely any set of numbers (this is our key. usually the numbers in the "key" are not repeated). i'll take 3259. we look at the first letter in the word, in our case it is «a». we look at the first number in the set, in our case it is 3 -> we need to count from the next letter after a (i.e. b) three times to the right. we get «d». we do the same with all the letters (if the set of numbers is coming to an end, we simply continue from the first number). so, the «apple» turns into DRVVH. thats all
