TLOU spoilers:
Do you know what really made me cry?
It wasn’t the screaming, even though those sounds made me clutch my wrists so tight, I’m going to bruise tomorrow. It wasn’t the blood, or the wounds.
It was the little head raise Joel did when Ellie screamed at him to get up. And as hurt as he was, standing at death’s door, with so much blood loss and so much brutality inflicted on his body, Joel tried to push himself up. Because Ellie, his daughter in everything but blood, was begging him to do so.
I don’t think I’ll ever be alright again.
can we talk about percy uncovering luke’s true intentions and luke coming clean about wanting to recruit percy as a powerful ally and percy obviously refusing despite sympathizing with the cause because he’s just better than that leading to them dueling, with luke about to strike percy down when annabeth’s blade, the one luke gifted her, the same cursed blade that’ll reap his soul 3 years from now, sealed with the promise of family and new beginnings, knocking into backbiter in luke’s hands, and luke turning to stare at her with the most heartbroken, torn expression on his face and annabeth staring him down with more venom than any pit scorpion could’ve had.
can we talk about annabeth standing in the clearing watching the only man she loves, someone who made a promise to protect her and always have her back, someone she’s known for 5 years, looming over a boy she met mere weeks ago, someone who, despite a godly rivalry getting in the way of their initial friendship, fought for her and saved her and chose her over himself time and time again…can we talk about how the defiance in her gaze made it very clear to luke that the person he’s closest to would choose percy over him every time
please take everything you read with a grain of salt. misinformation spreads everywhere like wildfire, and i've been having major trouble wading through false journalism to get actual updates on everything. some resources i've compiled for myself and anyone who's interested:

THE PITT 1.15 "9:00 P.M."
I think the most radical thing the hunger games does is tell young people that the most revolutionary thing you can do is have unconditional love for humanity. Katniss throughout the entire series is guided by a deep sense of compassion for the people around her. It is what causes her to volunteer, to bury rue, to mercy kill cato, its why she tries to save peeta, why finnick telling her to remember who the real enemy is works, and even though her compassion for the larger world falters when peeta is kidnapped, it comes back when she visits hospitals and asks for mercy for other victors and ultimately, it is love and belief in a better humanity that makes her kill coin. Through it all, she maintains an unfaltering belief in the fundemental goodness of humanity, which is diametrically opposed to dr gaul's and snow's worldview. Peeta is even more unwaveringly compassionate
So the series tells young people that the most revolutionary thing you can be is compassionate. Let compassion drive your politics. Let yourself believe in the fundemental goodness of people. And i think that's deeply important in a world that touts the superiority of pure reason or logic, to allow yourself to be guided by something as emotional as compassion. Katniss everdeen tells us that your politics should be rooted in compassion in a world that thinks detatchment or cynicism is intelligence and i think thats v cool
I don’t even care if it’s macaroni, ramen or those little bowls you stick in the microwave. Please, I need reassurance that most of the population on tumblr WOULDN’T STARVE TO DEATH if their parents couldn’t fix them food or they couldn’t go out to eat.
Any Twitter users coming to Tumblr will be in for a rude awakening when someone threatens to de-bone them like a fish because they disagreed with their hornyposting
my favorite kind of character is the kind who deep in their soul is constantly screaming LOVE ME LOVE ME LOVE ME and outwardly expressing literally anything else
I think part of my disappointment with the ending was that I expected catharsis. The show deliberately opened with covid screenings for Minchae’s performance, and there was a recurring theme about the how the times can take away or alter your dream. I expected them to explore the parallel between covid and the financial crisis differently, or at least to reach a different conclusion at the end. I expected them to say “the times will be hard. they will take things from you and you won’t be able to go back. what you experience might not even make you stronger, it might just hurt. but eventually you will heal and things will be better, even if it isn’t what you expected, even if the happiness you experienced during those hard times was temporary.” But I feel like the show stopped short of that catharsis. Instead we got the 9/11 plotline, which was another instance of the times taking things from the characters, which would be fine if it resolved in a more definite sort of happiness for the main character. Instead, we got a sort of placid tranquility for her, an absence of memory, and some unsatisfying dangling plot points. The show said that the times will take things from you, but we all already know that. I wanted something more
can we talk about walker’s ability to act with his eyes…they’re so expressive in every scene and perfectly capture the anger, fear, and despair percy feels throughout tlt, but most importantly they exude love and longing in a way that’s practically tangible when looking at sally, grover, and especially annabeth in some of the finale scenes…rent was DUE
