i've never had such big and sensual birthday greetings...... i'm so pleased i can't put it into words. giggling kicking my feet twirling my hair banging my head on the floor. THANK YOU very much!!!!!!!!!!
i've never been actively involved in fandom life before, and i'm glad that my first experience was so successful. i'm terribly happy to be your friend too, i'm not very eloquent, but believe me this is true, i really appreciate our relationship. and don't worry about the art, i'll wait as long as it takes (even though i can't wait to see it), THANKS again freak!!!!!ššššš
due to unfortunate circumstance the birthday art will be a day late, at least in your time zone. I still wanted to give you something nice so you can have the cheesy aah birthday note I wrote you
Happy Birthday @raguma1002!
As you know, Iām a cheesy lad. This will probably be very long and yappy, but you deserve nothing but the best on your birthday!
On paper Iāve only known you for three months, me shyly reaching out to you asking if I could draw your little creature that managed to capture my brain. Little did I know I was introducing myself to the coolest, most interesting, talented, funny, kindest people iāve met. Genuinely I have never had such a wonderful and meaningful fandom experience, and itās all thanks to you. Talking to you always makes my day a little better, being able to create things with someone on such a similar wavelength is wonderful, and I wouldnāt trade it for the world.
I adore talking to you, Bobutter context or otherwise, youāre funny and sweet and refreshingly easy to talk to. I love owning the entire internet with you and making it all our followersā problems.
I sincerely feel honoured to consider myself your friend, and I hope to be your friend for a long long time! Happy birthday š«¶ā¤ļø
okay, about old married couple bobutters and hollyhockā¦
i just consider this topic terribly interesting because i like hollyhock and i like their dynamics (going back to that post from my dead account, rest in peace)
i have two scenarios in my head. the first is that hollyhock is raised by his 8 fathers and, as in the original, finds bojack and tells him that she may be his daughter. AND THE TEST CONFIRMS THE KINSHIP. AND SHE WAS BORN IN 1999, WHEN BOBUTTERS WERE ALREADY TOGETHER. do you understand? that would be a real drama... kind of a test of their relationship. before they came to the conclusion that hollyhock was his sister, not his daughter, bojack would vehemently deny the fact of cheating (maybe he'd even start doubting himself due to his insecurities and all) but what pb's reaction would look like⦠given his fear of loneliness and tendency to forgive... it's interesting to speculate about. i have a lot of thoughts but i want to hear yours first
and the second scenario is just fun. what if they adopted hollyhock. i honestly didn't think through exactly how this would happen because beatrice would hardly be eager to give the child to them. maybe henrietta would contact them directly, knowing that these two were good guys? idk. but watching and exploring their cute family dynamics seems interesting to me :3
anyway what do YOU think? take your time with the answer, i know that it's about 5:00 am for you
woah holy shit ok⦠the DRAMA of that first idea⦠woah.. Because we donāt often see any sort of drama between the two and this would be really interesting to explore⦠Bojack KNOWING he didnāt cheat, and PB hoping his partner would NEVER do that to him.
That scene where Bojack rushes to hollyhocks house with the information about his dad and Henrietta, but he rushes to PB on his KNEES begging for forgiveness after that conflict, and honestly theyāre both better off because of it
As for them adopting hollyhock⦠thatās just adorable, and the way you brought it up happening feels probably the most likely, to me at least.. especially if (and iām embarrassed saying this) but if Jay exists then i could see the two being like sisters which is a lovely idea
bobutters going to the other side of the country for a few weeks between seasons 4 and 5... just a friendly trip because they both eventually got tired from life and relationships and fame... they spend time together without direct romantic interactions, go to shitty movies and sometimes drink at the bar. their classic dynamics but more of a partnership than a rivalry... and then they come back as if nothing had happened. things go pretty much the same as in the show and they don't even talk about it ever again
soo... this au won the poll, i am a little late, but the post promises to be long (i hope this is a good thing for you. because for me it is). i'll give you the exact dates and all that, because i feel better when everything is accurate. well you know
they got together in 1998, 6 years after pb began acting in "mr peanutbutter's house". it's just that bojack suddenly realized that his life seemed quite brighter with pb by his side, and that he was attached to him, and was no longer under the yoke of his homophobic mother, and decided to, well, give it a chance (same with pb, but less thoughts and worries). one day they somehow kissed, after a while discussed it and made their minds to "try" (no one really believed that this relationship would last long). and well they just... stayed like that. never broke up. feeling absolutely comfortable together and eventually not even considering ending the relationship or anything like that.
they got married around 2009, a year after the ban on same-sex marriage was lifted in california (at that time they had been dating for about 12 years). the show begins in 2014, respectively, at that time they had been together for 16 years, and had been married for 5 years.
as mentioned in another post about this au, they still have the same problems, but bojack has much less regrets behind his back, which is why his guilt and trauma are far from as strong as it was in original. he gets annoyed with pb when he is too positive about everything again, and pb gets annoyed with him when he tries to drown out problems with alcohol - substance abuse is still the case, but to a lesser extent. discussing feelings for them was initially a huge problem (because both are not good at it, and pb also tends to deny any negative emotions), but over time they somehow learnt how to work with it. they often screw up, but they try to get better, really. i vouch for them. they're doing their best your honor
they completely understand each other, to the extent that one can sometimes predict what the other will say verbatim. they have 10001 local jokes. while classics are more gentle and calm, these ones rather give the impression of that old flighty married couple who make fun of each other and initially you may not even understand why they are still together at all and how they tolerate each other... of course can also be super sappy sometimes, there's no doubt, since they're both lowkey a bit romantic - especially pb, boj often just plays along with him
both do films. bojack, unlike his classic self, still stars in some movies, but does it less often, because he is mostly disappointed in this field already; pb loves his career and accepts all kinds of offers. sometimes they star together in the same works (half of such cases end up with both of them being kicked off the set in disgrace)
by the way they like to throw parties in honor of each other! it's kinda their tradition. both try to make it as lavish and luxurious as possible, eventually turning it into another competition.
they live at bojack's place, yeah (it's just that bojack's house is familiar and i like it more lol. can also help to distinguish them from classics if it matters)
relationships with others:
princess carolyn is still bojack's agent, but at least now she doesn't have to dig him out of all sorts of troubles every single day. she has to dig out them both (but not that often) (something like attacking the postman or saying nonsense that will ruin your reputation. or setting a fire in the house because someone got distracted by tv), especially when pb becomes her client too. they are generally on good terms
at one of the halloween parties they also let todd stay at their place because they think he is a poor gay boy who was kicked out by his parents (pb persuaded bojack). he sleeps on their couch, but he can put things in the closet. he was once offered a guest room, he stayed in it for a couple of days and returned to the previous place because he likes it there more.
pb and todd are in the most positive relationship possible and quickly find common ground, while todd's relationship with boj is not the easiest, but good. pb tries to smooth things over whenever bojack gets annoyed with todd and treats him not very well, so overall they even have a bit of an idyll at home. many misadventures still remain there (like disneyland or halloween in january), but often bojack is also involved in some way (not by his will). todd's their son <3
i also like to think that boj still hires a ghostwriter for his biography because he wants to raise his popularity and take on the acting career more thoroughly. he and diane become friends as a result too, some arcs with their joint participation are preserved, some are not, depending on which ones. however this time there are no hints of a romantic relationship for understandable reasons
so in general, as i said, this is the original with minimal settings and with a pleasant (for some of us) bonus in the form of bobutter. suggest ideas and ask if you are curious about something! thanks for reading! <3
Eye for an eye broski
Bobutter headcanons, hand em over š« /silly
i won't repeat the same things that you said in your post with headcanons for them because i generally agree with you! one thing: i want to believe that bojack didn't star in horny unicorn after he got out of prison. the movie industry is a very toxic place for him and i don't think he would ever want to return to the set again
instead he rather devoted himself to the theater? it seems that his soul lies precisely to it. he started with productions in prisons and then got a job in the theater. begins putting on plays there, and mr peanutbutter definitely attends each one with great interest and pride!!! him sitting in the audience and be like ''yes yes yes my husband directed this play! he's so talented! ooo ooh he's over there!! HEY BOJACK!" (the whole theater hears him)
when pb has time, he attends bojack's rehearsals as well! he praises and encourages EVERY actor, even the shittiest ones, which is why everyone there adores him. of course boj is genuinely pleased when he does this, even though it seems like he isn't ("why did you come? you'd better have stayed at home. why waste time on this shit?") he's just a little shy.
mr peanutbutter continued his career. he keeps acting in movies and tv series of various kinds; but over the years he definitely does it less, spending more time on hobbies and bojack
speaking of relations with the rest of the cast: they don't communicate with diane at all - neither pb nor bojack. however, maybe pb and diane sometimes like each other's posts on social networks, making sure that everything is okay and no one is dead
they keep in friendly contact with princess carolyn and definitely visit each other at least once a month! i mean, they don't communicate much, especially boj and pc, but they keep warm relationship. sometimes she even lets them babysit ruthie (they try very hard to do everything right) (ruthie loves them) (that thing describes their relationship perfectly for me)
todd probably remained the closest of the whole cast to them, at least because he and pb are still best friends. i really want to believe that they hold meetings of pb livin' from time to time, and mr peanutbutter considers bojack an unofficial member, simply because he accidentally walked into the study during one of them.
they come up with new crazy moronic projects and give them to bojack for consideration. he grumbles, indignant at how stupid it is, but still contributes something of his own, which he thinks will make their plan more logical. it turns out even worse, and almost every time they are on the verge of bankruptcy honestly. but at least it's fun!
although they probably would eventually stop investing ALL their money in those brilliant business projects because, well... spending your old age as homeless is not a very appealing prospect (bojack insisted on that)
i also have a post about their relationship with hollyhock
and the headcanon about reading together is here as well
i think they have quite a similar sense of humor. at least it was shown that they both love long setups for punchlines! of course, bojack likes more dark jokes while pb prefers light-hearted ones, but it still seems to me that they would definitely find common ground here.
they have a bunch of inside jokes and tbh they also definitely have a few people that they like to gossip about together (they do it on that art of mine btw š)
pb removed the thunder room (converted it into smth else, maybe storage). he also stopped drinking alcohol, at least while bojack's around so he won't be tempted to relapse again
probably thanks to (almost) 4 unsuccessful marriages and work on himself, pb would take the whole wedlock thing more seriously and not even try to talk about it with bojack because well it's bojack. but! after so many years of loneliness and a few ones of really successful healthy relationship and therapy bojack may want to get married? of course it would be difficult for him because of his distorted understanding of the union of two people as such, but, in the end, he has time. so if he does want it, ig he will be the one to propose. screwing up 19641969 times in the process of course. it'd be cute :Š·
i decided not to mention that they like to hug and walk in the park together and so on like the real snotty romantics, because it's obvious. i'm sorry for the possibly long answer, i've just been sitting all day in the socrates pose thinking about what i should write. thanks for reading!
got caught in the rain again, but found out about the existence of umbrellas
