instead of dragons, like wu's ninja, garmadon's ninja have oni face decals, with element-specific patterns and horns! i really like how morro and tox's came out

now that these goofs are done i can finish up the first chapter of the jade ninja au fic! as well as FINALLY start on my lego monkie kid line up/redesigns. my hand is already on fire, time to add some gas to really make it burn!

I Am So Sorry This Ask Is From February

I'm going to make a short list of five things just so I can give you something. One headcanon for each dollar. This is romantic royal trio bc that's my preference and I assume you probably knew this because of code violet (if it was romantic back in feb yet? I'm honestly not sure)

Sumire and Akira are both bi while Goro is 100% gay but also sumiromantic. He doesn't understand why this is but she is the single exception to his otherwise entirely homosexual orientation.

Akira wants to get a tattoo but he's too indecisive to pick anything so he ends up getting nothing even after he's old enough. Sumire is a little horrified by the idea of getting a tattoo but divorced from social stigma she likes the idea of getting something to honor her sister. Goro got a tattoo in November while drunk. It's a crow. He's really embarrassed by it but Sumire and Akira both think it's beautiful and refuse to let him get it removed.

Akira and Goro are Constantly teasing each other/lowkey being assholes but then they turn to Sumire and are the nicest kindest people to walk the earth to her. Sumire starts trying to join in on the teasing and every time she says something even remotely mean she blushes furiously and Akira and Goro both go error 404 not found

Akira is very cuddly with both of them, even in public. Goro rarely initiates anything but he loves cuddling with either of them (but if anyone other than the two of them tries to touch him their life is immediately in danger). Sumire initiates cuddles with Goro but she's shyer with Akira.

You know that one post that's like rock paper scissors polycule? Yeah, that's them. Sumire tops Goro. You can figure out the rest from there. (In reality I think they're all switches but this dynamic specifically is Very funny to me.)

I am so bad at thinking of headcanons apparently I guess that's just not how my brain works. There are Many of my headcanons in code violet so uh I guess you can read that if you want more! Thanks for the ask!

The funniest thing about the ninja being color coded to me is the fact that they’re color coded down to their underwear and, as of season 11, weapons.

So basically:

Kai’s katana has red accents:

Jay’s kusarigama has blue accents:

It looks like the markings around Cole’s first initial on his hammer are orange, his main secondary color:

Zane’s shurikens are gold and white with cyan accents; notably, since Secrets of the Forbidden Spinjitzu, Zane’s belt color has been cyan:

Lloyd’s sword has green accents:

And Nya’s spear is mostly gray with a wave pattern near the top:

It’s ALSO notable that Kai’s always been partial to katanas and swords, Jay’s always been partial to chained weapons like nunchucks and his kusarigama, Cole’s always been partial to weapons he can hit the ground with (scythes and hammers), Zane’s always been partial to shurikens, Lloyd’s always been partial to swords, and Nya’s been partial to spears since season 8.

What I’m saying is there is literally absolutely no reason for the ninja to have color coded weapons (and, for Kai and Lloyd in season 8, weapons with their names engraved on them!!!!!) because their weapon preferences are so different. The only time they use each other’s weapons that I remember (not counting Kai’s use of the Scythe of Quakes in the pilots) is briefly in season 15 with Jay using Cole’s hammer.

*Pushes ‘lil Casey into comic as peace offering* (Totally have not been influenced by all the Casey love @funneylizzie has been posting. Nope.) Sorry this is a shorter one that not too much happens in.  The next part is going to be a little hefty with the imagery so wanted to get the first part out.  I feel like I’m finally starting to get a grasp on how to draw future Leo.  I should have practiced sketching them more before starting this comic, but then I would have never started haha!
