Ah..

For once, Jackpot was almost happy there was little customers. He REALLY needed this. Not to mention the fuss that damn skeleton caused earlier this week- the nerve!

..[breath]..Calm down, star.

Enough dwelling on past failures. That bottle of wine was calling his supreme, after all!

An extended hand pushes off the plush sofa, towards a displayed bottle of velvet fill.

He knew that, unlike his other counterparts, he wasn't exactly the best..hm. Let's say technician. And the price to pay for that- (not his soul, thank star!) was particularly faulty limbs, at the particularly worst times.

So, what does he do in this situation? Why, use caution of course!

Jackpot twists a strained wrist around the top of the cap, then a hand down to the middle. He wasn't exactly fond of having to curl an entire hand around things to grab them properly- but like hell was an Alphys going to see him on their doorstep.

Finally, comes the pull. Please work please work please work-

And there you have it. A full bottle of wine, all for his taking! The casino goers would be weeping, for sure.

He grabs a spare glass on the table left by him because common foresight is quite the ability, admittedly.

in comes sweeet relief. Phew, if Jackpot could describe how content he was- you'd think he wouldn't need the casino!

Ah, but enough of that. 'bottom's up!' as they say.

Down half of it, he tips upward. The sweet- almost sickly flavour of wine remains.

A sigh reverberates off 18 caratige gold, a record player exactly where his tophat lands on, revealing pure gold on his head in form of a crown. Oh, and don't forget the branding.

Some wonder- and little fools ask, "Why wear a crown nobody can see?" As if that question had any standing in the first place. Royalty, people! He was royalty! They would do well to remember that.

To be below royalty is unacceptable, even on others domain. Especially not on his. Status was power, and power was Jackpot. Really, it was quite simple.

...

..It was quiet.

He briefly considered returning to low power- yet the work day was still on, and as such; So was he. A shame, really.

Nevertheless, off-days like this are hard to come by. He should savor it- bask in it. Go over his achievements twice over, maybe even finish this glass of wine!

Ah, what a dream that'd be. To be able to mull over your own grandeur, over himself. Thankfully, reality was quite kind to the powerful. And he certainly fit that criteria. So let him relax, lay back..rest..

"Jackpot."

AHh!- Huh? Who was this- this..child? Wait. If his informants were competent, this should be core. Ah, he'd heard about them. Quite the heroic type, apparently.

"I am Frisk."

Well, he'll decide on their punishments later. For now, a good first impression must be made.

"Ah, hello, dear! My, you startled me. Though, I must ask- why have you come here? I wasn't exactly expecting visitors, ha ha." Good. Just the right amount of politeness, with the hint of urgency. He wasn't exactly thrilled about his break being interrupted.

"It's fine. Why are you trying to enter the Omega timeline?"

Ah.

"Well, you truly are as perceptive as they say. I suppose the other rumours are true then?"

"That doesn't matter. Why?"

My, would it hurt to have a little of an appetiser?

With a concealed sigh, he began. "Well, dear. Business demands. And as much as others-"

Those other mettatons he was shaming still pale in comparison, really.

"-would like to stay content with their riches, I am a man of prospect! Opportunity knocks, and I shall gladly answer. That is my reasoning, darling."

"I see. Greed."

"Correct, dear. And I'm not afraid to admit it. After all, why does anyone do anything? Greed. That voice in your ear, that voice telling you to be more- that you could be more. I listen to that voice. And look where it's gotten me. Success, riches, fame. My business is booming, and the opportunity for more- especially in the largest crossroads of the multiverse, just gladdens me. So yes, dear. It is greed."

"Ambition isn't greed."

"Oh, but they are two sides of the same coin, are they not? The only difference is one's drive. Ambition can create, greed will create."

"I've seen what you've done in the name of greed. Stop."

His smile faltered. Secrets were not kept around this child, then.

"You've done your research, then." Irritation seeps through.

"None needed. I see all. Including your exploits."

Well, that was a tad more than troublesome.

"Dear, if you're here to stop me, im afraid you'll be sorely dissapointed."

The runt child continued like he said nothing.

"You rely on secrets. Back alley dealings, corners of wealth, you control people by controlling word of mouth."

"You won't control me. Do not enter the Omega timeline. Final warning, Mettaton."

The child dissapeared. Jackpot's teeth clenched, and his grip on the wine glass nearly hardened- Mettaton? And then it did. Hundreds of tiny shards lent themselves to his furnishing. He snapped.

Jackpot stood up in a flash, an extended arm swiping the remnants of glass from the table into the red carpet beside it or the wall.

He steps out of the wreck, a foot landing on the less-than-savory carpet beneath his feet, before heading towards his offices double doors.

He widens the entryway, doors flying open as multiple paintings became visible to him. Those didn't matter.

An extended arm grabs his hat, the brim hitting his head.

Now, where the hell were those informants?

Felt like drawing sans outside of curly's pod at the end of mouthwashing like "hey there pal", but it turned into this

You can tell cuz the borders r shaped like the pod's display (kind of)

Anyway, my 'big project' should be done by the time I either get the burst of motivation i need or I get off my ass and push through; hopefully the latter

Note: dont expect the 'big project' to be insane, its just me trying to genuinely shade and colour as best I can (along with details). So it could look shit to other good artists- and it likely will, but 'tleast I'll get some experience off of it, y'know?

There are two types of writers:

1. 'It's fiction, it doesn't need to make sense!'

2. 'I didn't account for the rotation of the planet and how that affects the constalations while my characters stargazed at different times of year, I have failed as a writer, and this entire thing is trash'
