In rope negotiations, talk about how long it will take to untie and make sure you’re both aware of how you’ll communicate when you want to untie! A red/yellow/green stoplight checkin system can be great. A nonverbal method of communicating this is an important backup.

Your safety shears should always be nearby too. Being in rope for any longer than you want can be scary and dangerous. Untie as soon as the limit is approaching, and never be scared to cut rope if you need to!

Riggers, make sure your bunny knows they can indicate when they’re wearing out, instead of waiting until they reach a limit.

Rope bunnies, get comfortable identifying that feeling and communicating it! A trustworthy rope top will never pressure you to stay in rope for more time than you are comfortable.
