Season 3 has to happen for my sanity.
things I need to see in season 3:
kirin and rachel bonding over how their sports stress them out and the toxic environment of it
martha and josh bonding over their experiences of sa and trauma, and being able to talk to each other about it because they both understand
toni trying to fucking launch herself at kirin or scotty trying to hit on shelby
fatin and leah becoming more and more comfortable with physical affection with each other, and fatin thinking more about her sexuality involving girls
kirin trying to take control and dot fucking owning him and ordering him to go make a fire and then him being like “……” because they all had to use a fucking lighter
and then dot’s just is fucking shocked over how these dumbasses survived for more than a week
the girls all standing to the side watching henry and dot fight over the best way to preserve food
kirin trying to hit on fatin and then seeing leah murdering him with her eyes
and Rafael is just watching to the side and like “oh she’s gay”
martha never having to lay a finger on any animal again to kill since the others are doing the job for her, and she’s actually doing other things like gardening or foraging
kirin and josh’s friendship deepening along with ivan’s and kirin’s
toni forgiving shelby and loving stroking her head as her hair is growing back
fatin braiding all the girl’s hair amazingly bc we all saw her beautiful fishtail braid in the last episode
toni fighting it and slapping her hands away until fatin fucking wrestles her and pins her down
just all the girls being in love with each other and happy while the boys watch and then start to bond a bit more with each other
„Inside job“ might easily be one of my favorite Leverage episode so far because it has „found family“ written all over it, from Nate cooking to Sophie teasing to the entire team going full on deadly-serious in order to get Parker back out.
Not to mention that Parker, team AND Archie point out that the team is Parker‘s real family
You know those characters who are so insanely dedicated and loyal to the main couple of the show they’re on?
The one that should be considered a third wheel but, somehow, they just belong there, by their side, and while others may question it, the couple never does.
Not once.
The one that is so ride or die for each person individually and the couple’s relationship that it gives you the most intense yearning/poly vibes you’ve ever felt.
The one that will kill for them. Risk everything to ensure their two favorite people are safe and happy.
Special shout out to Eliot Spencer and Walter Skinner for being the epitome of that character type. They’re the real ones. Best boys, fr.
Everytime someone says bring back Nate, I shiver with dread.
And for someone who's a really big fan of Nate, I really would hate having to see him come back to Redemption. I saw on a Facebook group I'm in where someone asked how Nate would react to the Jackal Job, and I remember thinking that Nate, the Catholic man, would either not be a supporter or simply not be able to empathize or participate in the con without prejudice.
Look, OG Leverage has a place in my heart for a reason, but I cannot justify bringing back Nate at all. Nate's story could never fit into Redemption for a variety of reasons.
OG Leverage took the experiences Nate had and made a point in every episode why the man does what he does.
OG Leverage was about revenge first and foremost, then doing the right thing after, then building something more.
You know the reason why the stories never mentioned the disabled, the LGBTQ+, or the plain old voiceless of immigrant communities (this one was touched on but not really)?
It's because it wasn't Nate's story to tell. The original message was, if you are in a position where you have been wronged, then you should have the power to make it right. You deserve a second chance. That's why he always dealt with the scammers, the rich white men, the corporate greed, etc. He always tried to give people a second chance from a dumb or honest mistake, or to right someone's wrong.
That's why the Black Book was so important by the end of OG Leverage. It closed Nate's story with the idea that what has been wronged will be righted even if it meant taking a less than legal approach by others who are willing to bring justice to light.
Redemption is not that story. I mean it is, but it isn't. Redemption is the story where those less fortunate, those who are inherently going to lose no matter what they do, get a voice. They deserve a say in how they are treated, and they, as much as the impoverish and the naive, can have the power given back to them.
It's shown with victims like the elderly, the disabled, the people of color, the young who don't quite fit the social norm, and the LGBTQ+ community.
Through Harry Wilson, Redemption also shows us that those with power, need to take responsibility for their actions. It is not enough to fight those in power, but that people like Harry - who do have power, are vitally needed to change the system.
Redemption does not need to see Nate to accomplish this story, but the fact remains that the message Nate started is still here, if not more refined and nuanced than ever before.
Nate should not come back to Redemption because his story was told in OG, and now, a new story can begin where the crew can be expanded and fight for what's right as well as give every victim of an injustice, an opportunity to tell their story as well.
the blueprint: Leverage season 5 episode 10, The Rundown Job
the legacy: Lockwood & Co. season 1 episode 8, Not the Eternal
The Rundown Job was really the OT3 episode, uh?
I knew they worked well together, that's been obvious for a while. But in an episode of just them, it really hits how in sinc they are.
Hardison and Eliot doing their little handshake after watching Parker do her acrobat thing through a lazer grid.
Eliot's first concern being to get Hardison and Parker to safety. Them refusing to let Eliot go up against a terrorist attack. Parker's line about how they change together, for better or worse.
Eliot not being scared of the terrorists attack because he has Hardison and Parker on his side and he believes in them more than anything.
Also when Eliot put his hand on the back of Hardison's neck and looked into his eyes? That was so intimate. The tension was serious with undertones of sexual. It had the same tension as Parker diffusing the bomb.
The silent communication. The celebrating each other's victories.
Eliot throwing down the crutch in favor of leaning on his partners.
I'm sure other stuff I missed, it being only my first watch through and all. But that's the stuff that stood out the most to me.
In The Maltese Falcon Job when Parker is told by Hardison that Tara might've sold them out, Jesus fucking Christ it's terrifying. The way her whole demeanor changed, the mad glint in her eyes, the expressionless scrutiny, the way she grabs Tara's throat and just dangles her over the ledge like it's nothing. 'I dangle myself from buildings with my fingertips. Bye now' and then that smile???? That terrifying, Heath Ledger's Joker level smile as she says Bye Now???Parker is more than just the greatest thief in the world and a damn good mastermind, she's also downright fucking terrifying when she's pissed off with a target and that never comes up in like 99% of the meta and even in some of the episodes and imho that's something that really shouldn't be forgotten
Cutiesss
happy kuroko bday 🎂
I believe in you.
I second this
i think that collective human culture has produced enough media where the protagonists forgive their abusive parents and from now on every abusive parent sublplot should end with their kid killing them with hammers and everyone telling them 'wow it was so cool and awesome of you to kill that bitch with hammers'
Just started reading it and love it already 💙
Alex “my reputation's never been worse, so, you must like me for me” Blackwood and Molly “I hate accidents, except when we went from friends to this” Parker
Random stuff I love. Currently obsessed with Lockwood and co. Pls go stream it on Netflix we need season 2!!
