I like to think in modern au Sanemi actually knows the Kochou sisters for quite a few years, maybe they’re childhood friends. So when they adopt Kanao and they’re like “oh she needs more friends, can we introduce her to Genya?” Sanemi is like “….sure” knowing how fucking socially awkward Genya is.
And I imagine that they’re looking at each other like this when they meet

And like it works out in the end cuz childhood besties genkana ftw but the vision of this whole ordeal has me chuckling like an idiot
