Still trying to figure out parts of the plush, namely the hair and feet rn.
while he's going to be jointed, i still want to keep this plush as simple as possible, so a lot of parts are two pieces (the arms, legs, and body) but im not sure how the feet will come out if its two pieces. So i may try to make something out of clay and get a pattern from that.
Wrists were originally supposed to be jointed but nah i dont want to complicate things, so ignore the line there.
the mirror with the face embroidery is gonna be a separate part sewed onto the rim (pray for me)
Hair is giving me the most headaches cause i abandoned the intial idea which you can see in the previous post. I was thinking about sewing on a back piece to the hair and stuffing it kinda like how you would do paw pads on a fursuit might actually make the back piece into the front piece instead so that the hair sticks out more and use embroidery to define the swirl. idk if that makes sense. Besides that I might give the bottom of the head a slightly flatter base so it stays on the body better.
Right now the plush is looking to be 15 inches so that some parts aren't too small to sew.
If y'all have any thoughts about it let me know.
Have a project in the works but needed to go back and brush up on how I draw Olimar. Pikmin fever came back with a vengeance I'll tell you what.
Woah! More Zip and Tubey!! If you like these guys, I'm actually participating in Art Fight so you can attack these little dudes. https://artfight.net/~CheeryWanderer There's also some old stuff that i forgot to upload online too lol.
One of the events in the kirby series that made me realize that there was more going on beneath the surface of the games.
Started watching CFMOT, I love this little muppet.
Wow, I thought the pikmin fandom was dead, but my recent Olimar pic got a boost in notes compared to my other art so far, and it’s only been a day.
I’m not mad about this
Woah! The President! I feel bad for only thinking about Olimar so I figured I should flesh out the president and what comedic potential he could have. I shall post more thoughts on him soon.
Boxster Idle Animation Test. I rigged his little front flap so he could have some secondary action going on. Also added some vertex wobble. Grease pencil is kinda difficult for me to use but ill figure it out eventually (updated my blender version the for the first time so also had to get used to the new stuff and some bugs lol)
Got a pattern for glisten down! still need to test it but I'm super happy! Can't wait to put it together and see how it goes. I still have to properly break down the pattern into a printable file but ill worry about that when i know the pattern works. Gotta also worry about his accessories but we're getting there!
More details under the cut!
decided to make glisten's foot in 3d to make a better pattern piece out of it, then sent it to adobe illustrator and traced it and adjusted it to make sure the pieces fit correctly. Gotta make sure it works though cause i only used plushify for 3d models, im worried it wont come out right
the rest is merely a matter of breaking down the pattern into front and back pieces so its pretty self explanatory.
besides that my main concern is making the joints functional but stable. theres also the thickness of the head compared to the body (since the body is only a front and back piece. but i imagine its an easy fix cause i can trim the side head piece. also the seam allowance might be too big but trimming should fix that.
already have the fabric ready for it too. I was gonna prototype it but im kinda impatient plus i imagine the adjustments ill need to do are minor so we ball.
im looking forward to finishing this project. Glisten is a huge comfort character to me and i wanted to make something that i can share with other fans and encourage sewing as a hobby. the pattern still needs some work i think but i look forward to sharing it with yall for free.
that said, please dont spread this around (yet) or try to profit off it. if you want to try out this pattern as it is right now, just be sure to credit me and let people know that pattern isnt finished and redirect them to this post (or some of my other ones) if they're curious. thanks yall
