Nickname -Ā āAn. Eke. Nameā
Nickname is one of those words created by people talking too fast. The original phrase wasĀ āan eke nameā fromĀ āekeā meaning āalsoā i.e.Ā āAristocles is my real name but Plato is an eke nameā Said fastĀ āan eke nameā sounded like āa nicknameā, and the phonological word evolved.
Language is so important for bridging gaps imposed by geography. Proud to be trilingual!

Sorry, Iām moaning. I did get to finish the first chapter of A2 maths so Iām on par with the rest of my year ready for the 10th!
Notes arenāt the prettiest but theyāre functional and ok to look at. Also thanks for the love my little account has been getting as of late!
03/09/18 Chemistry notes! I finally understand the hype about Whitelines paper... I had to save up a fair while to buy any though haha
Edit holy shizzle 100 notes?! Thank you so much!
My exam results were released yesterday - I averaged 91.1% and Iām honestly elated with that! Taking a very low-key year to focus on being kind to myself was the best thing I ever did and Iām in a much better place for next year.
Iāve been flitting between this and that today - a bit of reading, a bit of work and some digital sketching. What you see is the mess that my brain is today haha
Stay safe my dudes :)
The worst part about exams is the waiting. I finished my last exam of second year today, and now comes the agonising period where I fight as hard as I can against the will to overanalyse every little error I may have made. To save my sanity, my mantra is now: if itās out of my hands, itās out of my head :)

I love the library! Plus Iām spending time with my good friend and am just round the corner from town so... did someone say shopping? x
Hello all! Just been to Waterstones with my best friend reading, writing German essays and doing some mechanics.
Exciting news this week: I booked flights and a hotel for the 13th-15th January so she and I can stay in Berlin for my 18th birthday on the 14th! Iām so anxious but excited about it :)
I cannot wait to go back to school, but I am very nervous about my Cambridge NatSci pre-interview assessment on Wednesday (as if Halloween wasnāt scary enough without this!).
So this week Iāve been into watching MIT open lectures on YouTube and reading the fabulous book you see pictured: Endless Forms Most Beautiful by Sean B. Carroll. Itās about Evo Devo and I highly recommend this book to everyone remotely interested in the genetics/evolution side of biology.
Not long until A Levels are behind me...
which is a good thing because I - funnily enough - hate La Haine
Hi all! Back at it again with the biology notes - this time itās the adrenal glands ft hand-drawn diagrams. This is actually really interesting stuff and Iām loving A2 biology!
So Iāve written a German essay, answered a bunch of questions based on an article and have also done a bunch of French homework, and itās only the first official day of half term! I had a pretty restful weekend but I did at least one task just to keep busy.
I think tonight Iāll read Le PĆØre Goriot and then maybe get a couple of pages through Genes. And Iāll go to the shop and get some milk because otherwise I canāt have a cup of tea and Iām desperate for one haha
