Doctor calls you with your bloodwork results and just says “I’m really mad at you” and then hangs up

Disabled people are not obligated to do everything that a non-disabled person can do. Stop treating us as though our bodies are the same. What you do normally can be detrimental and dangerous to us.

Does anyone else feel like they kind of have to train their able-bodied friends?

I know that sounds fucked up, but y'all know what I mean. Teaching them things like "slow down" and how to let me set the pace when we're walking, or how and when to offer help, or a HUGE pet peeve of mine: taking the ramp with me instead of splitting off to take the stairs.

I know they're not dogs, but y'all gotta admit that they do take some training.

shoutout to the people who desperately want to move out but can't because they have medium/high support needs, and their family is the only people they have to rely on. especially since autistic and disabled adults are much more likely to suffer from loneliness. i hope you get what you need soon.

went to my general practitioner and suddenly got diagnosed with post covid and cfs. after he had not taken my symptoms seriously in the past. after years of medical gaslighting. i mean i still think its mecfs but thats probably as close as it gets. which is so much better than nothing. nevertheless i don't really seem to feel much about it even after i've recovered for over a week from this draining excursion. just endless exhaustion

generally speaking, doctors only see health-privileged patients when they're feeling their worst and chronically ill patients when they're feeling their est. Chronically Ill folks often can't even make it to see a doctor when at their worst. More doctors need to understand this <3 <3

weird as fuck living in a culture where it's considered more impolite to speak up and defend yourself against someone treating you unfairly than it is for someone to be rude to you in the first place

it's funny that people act like disabled people are such a downer and negative and pessimistic for acknowledging their health conditions when we have to be the most optimistic suckers on earth to repeatedly go to drs with the expectation of actually recieving treatment. did i say funny sorry i meant soul destroying

You should be able to say “don’t touch me” to anyone ever in any context and not have it be considered in the realm of surprising or insulting imho if we ever needed to normalize something it’s this
