Pairing: Baileywick x Reader

Author’s Note: Okay, Okay, Okay, off topic, but does Baileywick give anyone else Capricorn/Gemini vibes??? I swear, earth and air signs just be acting a certain way 😔 I could spot a fellow earth sign just by their slightest mannerisms I swearrr Lmao. 

Being real though, this has been sitting in my drafts for so long :( so sorry.

Also, I did not do as thorough a proof-read job as I wanted to on this, so sorry for any errors you may find! On a different note, this one is for @ucantseemaowo34​ !!! Thank you for this ask! Baileywick doesn’t get enough love fr, so this felt fantastic to write :) 

While growing up, you had always desired one thing: 

To work at the Enchancia castle. 

Come to think of it, there wasn’t a time that you hadn’t wanted to work at the most prestigious castle in all the land. That is, the most prestigious castle to you. With its stunning architecture, fantastic workers of all creeds, and, of course, the welcoming royals, the castle had seemed like a paradise for someone like you. But there was one thing that drew you to the castle the most. And that was your dear friend Baileywick. 

After moving to Enchancia in your twenties to pursue your dream, you had run into Baileywick while at a local market. It was one of his rare days off, and he had chosen to go purchase some gifts and some items he had forgotten to purchase days previous. And while walking towards the aisle with the whittled figurines at one of the shops, he ran into you. 

Not recognising you from his years of living in Enchancia, he immediately sparked a conversation and offered to tour you around what he said was the best kingdom in all the lands. 

At the time you only slightly agreed with his opinion, given you didn’t know everything about it, but overtime you grew to love the land as much as him; with its cheerful population and bustling city, you knew that it wouldn’t be hard to join their little community. 

The only problem had been finding a job...With little work experience, you weren’t sure what place would fit you best. Your father had taught you the skills of carpentry as a young child, but it wasn’t something that you thought would be easy to find a job for. As Baileywick pointed out in his tour early on, the city already had a fine group of carpenters that didn’t need apprentices. So it didn’t seem as though they, or the castle staff, needed another one to add to the mix.

When Baileywick brought up the topic of careers, he immediately noticed your dread. When you explained the source of that dread though, he promptly eased your worries with one small statement: That the head carpenter at the castle was looking for a partner to aid in his work. And, as it turns out, the man was a friend of your father.

All in all, it seemed as though your dreams were in closer reach than you thought.

Flash forward two years later, and you were thriving in your field. Similar to Baileywick, you had dedicated almost all of your time to your trade. The only difference was that you both began to take more days off in order to spend it with each other.

So much so, that you both set aside one to two days a week to spend together doing whatever it was that caught you guys’ interest that week.

For that last couple of weeks though, Baileywick had noticed that you had been cancelling on him more and more frequently. This was something that flashed immediate red flags in his head. Something had to be wrong; the only thing he had to do was figure out exact what it was that was bothering you.

...

Walking out to the shed you and your fellow carpenters worked in, Baileywick hesitantly knocked on the intricately designed door. He had hoped that you would be the one to open the door and invite him in, but his wishes were sadly not met.

“Hello Baileywick! Haven’t seen you around these parts in a while, is there something you need?,” Reginald, the head carpenter said.

“Well...There is actually. Is (y/n) here?”

Looking behind him, Reginald snapped his finger and opened the door wider.

“Actually, they are! They should be at their station in the back.”

With a pat to the shoulder Baileywick thanked him and manoeuvred his way over to you.

Which was easier said than done.

By the time he got close to your work station, he realised that most of the space was taken up by a large wooden object. This, upon closer inspection, turned out to be an impressively designed wooden statue; something he remembered the king commissioning not too long ago. Come to think of it, it was commissioned around the same time you started flaking on your meet ups...

“(Y/n)?”

 Uh-oh, you thought, he finally came looking for me..

Letting out a nervous laugh, you turned around to sheepishly look at Baileywick.

“Heyyyy Baileywick..long time no see huh?”

Not finding the humour in your words, Baileywick gave you a scolding look. This only made your nerves worse but was ultimately anticipated. You had been working so hard that you hadn’t realised just how long it had been since you had last seen him properly. Unlike him, you were disheveled and looked as if you hadn’t slept in weeks. Which wasn’t far from the truth....Something you knew he was aware of.

“Ha Ha (y/n), very funny. Is this what you’ve been doing these last two weeks? You look like you haven’t taken a break since you started!”

Hearing it from him made the reality really sink in. You spent so long trying to finish this project as fast as you could that you forgot to focus on your own health and close friends. The guilt pooled in your chest at the thought and you finally gave him a dejected look.

“Well, I mean, yeah. The king wants this project done as soon as possible, so I thought if I pulled a couple all-nighters I might get it done faster and have some more down time. Didn’t realise how much that would backfire though...”

Oh (y/n), he thought, always putting work before yourself..

“Well, if that’s the case, it seems as though a well deserved break is in order. A walk in the woods might do you some good (y/n); you could clear your head and finally explore the kingdom’s landscape in more detail like you’ve always wanted.”

This idea did interest you, but there was only one thing keeping you from following through with that plan: you had been isolated so long and had no one to go with.

Sensing your anxiety and reluctance, he decided to try and ease your discomfort.

“Do you not like that suggestion? You can always do whatever else you want, I just thought some fresh air and movement would do you some good.”

Responding quickly, you let out a, “No! No, that idea is fantastic Bailey! I just....I’d rather have someone to....y’know, go with me and do it....”

Oh, he thought. 

“Would you like...me to go with you....?”

With a confident grin, you said the first thing that came to mind: 

“Of course!, Who else would make better company than you?”

That statement was what gave him the confidence to confidently say yes and join you. The fact that you were so adamant on wanting to spend time with him despite how bad you felt made him feel those familiar butterflies in his chest. And, for a moment, he felt as though he finally had a chance. A chance to admit how he felt about you. 

After preparing the supplies needed for a hike in the woods and getting into the proper attire, Bailey met you at the gates of the castle.

“You all ready to go?”

“Ready as I’ll ever be!,” you quipped.

With a fond smile Baileywick offered you his arm and guided you two to the gate.

The first twenty minutes of your walk was done with excited chatter, but stopped when the beauty of the flora around you began to blossom and capture you guys’ attention; making you both decide to take a break in order to admire it and harvest what you could.

With that in mind, you pulled your basket in front of you.

Seeing that you were focusing on the fauna surrounding you both, Baileywick decided to scavenge for any edible vegetation. The first being the regions more notable mushrooms.

Picking up the nearest mushroom to him and twirling it between his fingers, Baileywick thought back to the first time he started having feelings for you.

His first glance at you in the market square had him gazing in awe- that he can confess to. But beauty often hides the truth, so more time was needed to know if your beauty was deceiving.

And, as he soon found out, the women inside matched the beauty outside. To him, the longer you worked together the more your personality shone. And goodness was it bright.

Every little action you made was perfect in your own little way; even if you would claim otherwise. You constantly changed his perspective on the way he viewed life and he knew that, although you didn't conform to his way of living, he wanted to conform to yours. Even at the expense of his perfectionism.

And though that might be the influence of Sofia talking, he did acknowledge the change that you brought out in him; and he appreciated it. Instead of trying to perfect everything down to the last inch, he let things flow naturally. Instead of getting irritated when things weren’t done the way he wanted, he let people have their own creative liberty with how they went about things. And instead of being happy by himself, Baileywick now realised he wanted companionship. More specifically, companionship with you. 

All in all, Baileywick thought it was only appropriate that you knew these feelings, otherwise it would be awkward on both of your parts. He felt as though you should know how he felt and, in the back of his brain, he hoped that you would reciprocate those feelings. 

So when you both reached what seemed to be the most beautiful lake he could find in Enchancia to rest at, Baileywick instantly felt that it was best he confessed to you here. Because who else than you deserved absolute perfection?

Gazing over to you, Baileywick felt a fond smile creep onto his face. Despite his workaholic nature, he would give up all of his life’s work just to live in this moment with you forever. Your face reflected the purple and orange hues just perfectly and he swore you looked angelic.

Inching closer to you, he took a strand of your hair and began to twirl it around his finger. You raised your shocked eyes in response, which only let your blush become even more evident to him. 

“Bailey?,” you asked, watching him observe your features lovingly.

Pressing his forehead against yours, your breath intertwining and a content affection being built, Baileywick responded with a smooth:

“Sometimes I feel sick…so anxious and sick- as if my heart is trying to beat its way out of my chest. At first I thought I caught a cold from the children, but when it got worse around you I knew it wasn’t just a biological mistake. You were what made my heart race. You were what made me feel like a lovesick teenager again. Looking at you just now, I knew that I had to tell you...” 

Pulling you into a hug, his chin resting on your shoulder, he finally admitted it: “(y/n), I love you. I’ve loved you for years. I just thought you should know because you’ve made such an impact in my boring stiff life. Whether that’s the Sofia in me taking I don’t know, but it remains true just the same.....”

...

Not hearing a response, Baileywick began to pull away from you. That is, until he felt you latch onto him tighter. Staying still, he felt you shaking a bit- as if you were laughing. And for a moment, he felt a bit upset. He had poured his heart out and that was how you respond?

Recoiling, he let out a brief, “Hey! Now what’s th-”

And then he saw it: you had tears in your eyes! That definitely wasn’t the reaction he was expecting; he wanted to make you happy, not make you cry! Showing his concern, he quickly said: “Oh dear! Are you alright?”

Looking up at him, you let out a giggle through a toothy grin.

“Of course I’m alright you old fool, I love you too! You just don’t know how relieving it is to hear you say that. I was worried that I would have to hear Miranda tease me about my crush on you for the rest of my life!”

Hearing that, Baileywick let out a hearty laugh of his own.

“She teased you as well?? I swear I haven’t been able to get Roland off my back for an eternity! That man does not give up easily, I’ll tell you that..”

Smiling fondly at him, you could only think one thing: God bless the King and Queen of Enchancia for their childish teasing. 

A laugh broke out between you and, in that moment, everything was right in the world. Everything was how it should be and the two lovers were finally able to live out their dream life: the one where their person loved them back.

With defection came a wide plethora of new foods, ideas, and things to explore for the Vorta. And Weyoun wants to explore every single one with the one he love most: you. 

A few of his favourite activities to indulge in include watching films and trying out new culinary delights. He, of course, has no sense of aesthetic, but with your help he begins to finally understand the simple pleasures in life. 

If anything, when it comes to films, he enjoys analyzing the character’s behaviour so that he can apply his newly gained knowledge to those around him. Whether it has any real life application and truth is something that he will happily figure out through trial and error.

B eauty - What do they admire about their s/o? What do they think is beautiful about them?

If something is perfect, can someone really pick an aspect to favor over all the others? That’s how Weyoun views it at least. So why should you be any different?

To Weyoun, every aspect of you was sculpted by the Founders; there was not one part of you that was less than perfect and Weyoun intended to prove that point every day. 

Despite that though, Weyoun has a strange interest in your eyes. He read somewhere that the eyes were the gateway to the soul, and to know that he can access the depths of your inner psyche just by gazing into your eyes intrigues him more than anything else has. If your soul was anywhere near as beautiful as your eyes, Weyoun swears that he would fall even more in love with you.

Oddly enough, he is also particularly found of your arms. He knows it’s a weird thing to focus on, but the way in which you wrap them around him makes him feel like the safest person in the galaxy. Especially when his fears begin to dominate his thoughts.

Mentally, he appreciates your compassion and honesty. Before you, he had only encountered those who had their minds made up on how they felt about him. No one tried to get to know the real him and had attempted to look past the responsibilities the dominion had thrust upon him even less. When you came around though, he finally got to experience what it was like for a person to care for and appreciate even the smallest aspects of himself.

And to be cared for and loved in such a genuine way for the first time is one of the most emotional things to a love-starved person.

Anytime you feel burdened by an issue, Weyoun is by your side in an instant. He knows how it feels to be unappreciated and unloved so, if that's something you've been struggling with, he is more than happy to sit down with you and silence those fears. 

Working to make sure you know how much of a priority you are to him is as vital as breathing in his books.

If you have a day where you feel more depressed and apathetic, he has no issue laying with you and taking care of the aspects you feel like you can't deal with. Even if that means calling in sick for you, cancelling both of your appointments, or just helping you bathe.

Being skilled in the art of diplomacy, as well as being educated on all sorts of human issues, Weyoun knows how to deal with everything in a timely and efficient manner; especially when it comes to people. So if it’s an interpersonal issue you’ve been dealing with, he is more than glad to take the reigns and deal with people for you. 

Overall, he can't stand seeing you in pain of any kind.

Before defecting, Weyoun knew that there was little point in dreaming up a future with you. Although you liked his company, you did not like the company he hung around. And that was something that he knew would keep the two of you apart.

After defecting, he let his inner fantasies run wild. The more he learned about you, your culture, and everything else about you that he could get his hands on, the more he wants to be like the things you love. Anything as long as it meant he could be with you. 

There’s little that he doesn’t want to do with you actually. Get Married? Already bought the ring. Have a child? Don’t even mention it, he’s got time set aside or adoption papers ready as you speak. Up and run away to live a peaceful life by yourselves? The escape pod is ready darling...

All in all, Weyoun just wants to be there for and with you. So your future together is just based on what you and him are most comfortable with; which is usually something of your choice.

Ever since he defected from the dominion, Weyoun has had a tad bit of trouble being dominant over someone he respects so highly. With those he considered beneath him, it was easy to be dominant. But with someone he loved and basically worshipped? He could never.

He is excessively submissive in a relationship, but that isn’t necessarily a bad thing. To you, this is a fantastic opportunity to shower him in affection, praise him, and let him heal from the horrific treatment he received at the hands of his 'Gods.' 

It may be a lot different than what he is used to, but after he gets the general feel of it everything clicks into place. 

Only after developing trust in your relationship will he begin to show his newly developed dominant side towards you. And let's be honest, we all liiivvee for dominant Weyoun 😩👏👏

True to his nature and profession, Weyoun is undoubtedly good at defusing situations; your fights being one of them. Though, that also means you two end up having a shockingly small amount of ‘fights’ over the period of your relationship. 

With your sympathetic and compassionate nature, as well as his diplomatic skills, you two have an effortless system devised in order to get to the root of every issue that ends up popping up.

Much like how he was to the founders and his ‘superiors,’ Weyoun is almost too willing to forgive your slip ups and mistakes made against him. And, although this may seem nice, the fact that he accepts any unwarranted judgment towards himself really concerns you. Just like many other traumas from his past, you are trying to help him move past and heal from certain experiences that make him feel inferior and unworthy.

If you two somehow did end up getting into a fight, he is somewhat ruthless with his words. When he reverts back to his old ways to comfort himself, he ends up being cold and calculating; putting himself in a better position so that he can feel safe and keep you at bay. When you both finally realize why he does this, you both make an attempt to heal the trauma and move on.

Being a born diplomat, he is naturally grateful. He understands the effort and care you put behind things, so he has no qualms with expressing his gratitude towards such efforts. 

Given the fact that he has had to be on the look out for everything his ‘enemies’ did, as well as anything that would make the ‘gods’ upset, he notices every little detail you put into things. This is especially true when it comes to you guys’ relationship; he knows how hard you work to help him heal, and he puts in just as much effort for you day in and day out.

He knows how vital knowledge can be when trying to achieve a goal. Especially when that goal is love. And, in order to experience everything that love has to offer, one lesson he is forced to learn is that of mutual trust.

If you are willing to be vulnerable and trust him, why shouldn’t he be the same way?

Being honest, you and Weyoun have both learned something from being in a relationship together. 

For Weyoun, he learned the importance of vulnerability and how not everyone has negative intentions towards him; he can make friends with people AND receive things in return without having to give back. For him, anything foreign was not to be trusted. Everyone had negative intentions and didn’t realllyyy like him. But after you two got together, he learned to heal from those emotional wounds and learned about parts of himself that he never would have under the Dominion. 

On top of that, he learned to let loose and have fun with the things he experiences. Instead of always looking for the practical use of things and attempting to be productive, Weyoun begins to take his time and relax. Something he has, admittedly, never done before. 

On your part, Weyoun was taught you a lot about self-discipline and charisma. He taught you how to not only handle your emotions, but the emotions of those around you. And while others have picked up on the weird, but not entirely unwelcome change in you, they refrain from bringing it up. Especially when there’s a suspiciously intense Vorta breathing down their neck every time they do.

J ealousy - Do they get jealous easily? How do they deal with it?

Keeping you guys’ relationship a secret came with a lot of things. One of the main ones is having other people hit on you. CONSTANTLY. And while he too appreciates your beauty and personality, he feels as though he is the only one that should be graced with all the secret and vulnerable parts of you. Only he can be with you and know you on an intimate level.

So imagine how awful it felt when he learned that you had friends. The kind that you told loved and respected as well. Oh the humanity; boy is devastated.

Being serious though, he hides his jealousy very well. At first it wasn’t an emotion that he could pinpoint very well; he knew he was upset, he just didn’t know the reason why.

Weyoun is a fantastic kisser. Cannot. Stress. This. Enough. Man’s calculated, educated, precise, and adaptable. Of course he’s gonna pick up on all the little mannerisms you enjoy and prefer. Being honest, Weyoun probably does a plethora of research before you two have your first kiss so that he doesn’t disappoint you. The Vorta have no use for physical affection, so things like this, at first, are very confusing to him. Until he gives it a shot and learns about the benefits of it he’s probably hesitant to try things out with you.

His first kiss with you probably looked something like this:

L ove Confession - How would they confess to their s/o?

I feel as though Weyoun would really go all out for his confession, but like, in a very subtle way. Weyoun has no prior experience with being in a relationship, so naturally he has to do some research. Especially when he isn’t even sure what emotions he’s beginning to feel towards you.

At first he began to look for signs that you could possibly like him back. Flushed cheeks, nervous tone of voice, longing glances thrown his way, seeming too interested in your conversations and time spent together, literally anything. If you didn’t, then what was the point in wasting time admitting his feelings? Better to avoid it entirely than get outright rejected...

If you do show signs of having feelings towards him he begins to plan his next move: confessing. 

In order to achieve the best possible result, Weyoun researches everything he can on your interests and preferences. He picks the perfect date location, best food options, and even wears cologne that meets your scent preference. Then, he casually asks you if you want to spend sometime together and lets the night unravel itself; everything calculated, but not outright obvious.

When the night hits its peak, he begins to reveal all the emotions that he’s been developing towards you. He explains what drew him to you, how you’ve changed him, and how excited he’s become to move on from his previous lives. All because of your presence in his life.

It shocks you, no doubt, but you can’t help but believe him when he says:

“It’s you, because no one else makes sense. Whenever we’re together, the struggles become worth it and I find that I can only make it through the day when you’re around.”

M arriage - Do they want to get married? How do they propose? What would the marriage be like?

To Weyoun, being able to legitimize your union and show the universe just how dedicated you are to each other would be an absolute dream. Despite his apprehensiveness about it.

Once he learns to trust you fully (which will take a significant amount of time) the first thing he wants to do is ask you to marry him. Since he doesn't have any real friends, and even less people like him, you two have a small wedding on a friendly planet close to Deep Space Nine. You end up having (y/f/c) be your (person) of honour while he has Keevan be his best man. Along with what little company you two have, you both enjoy yourselves to the best of your abilities; having your ceremony, sharing the food you love, and exploring the woodland region you two got married in.

He doesn’t have any traditional clothing to wear from his home planet, so he gets Garak to tailor a purple suit to match nicely with your lilac wedding dress/purple suit.

N icknames - What do they call their s/o?

Since Weyoun isn’t accustomed to the many nicknames those in the Alpha Quadrant use, he uses those from his own tongue. His favourites include waiyau/waiyauta and zhimata because they’re straight to the point. He knows that no one else aboard Deep Space 9 understands Dominionese, so being able to reveal that you’re his partner and lover in an indirect manner feels amazing to him. If anything, it’s the only way that he can openly admit you’re in a relationship. 

But if anyone asks what it means he just says it’s a term of respect. Nothing too suspicious.

He has made a plethora of enemies through his various lives and it has made him cautious. As is to be expected, Silvanus loves any activity that deals with magical creatures. Since he takes care of only a few for a living, he likes to bring you on trips to find and observe more obscure and less appreciated creatures. 

Despite him being so focused on magical creatures, he does enjoy flying his broom with you and enjoying the scenery at and away from Hogwarts. He also loves indulging in your hobbies as well. Whatever makes you happy, usually ends up making him feel overjoyed as well. 

B eauty - What do they admire about their s/o? What do they think is beautiful about them?

Silvanus admires your unwavering love and commitment to him the most, to be honest. He never thought that he'd meet someone that would appreciate and love him the way that you did; never mind the fact that he'd find someone who desired to be in his company. Too many times has he been the subject of ridicule and never looked at in a positive light. Because of his reckless determination in studying and caring for magical creatures, not many individuals fancy his company. You, though, have defied all expectations and stuck with him through thick and thin. And for that, he's so very grateful. 

Appearance wise, Silvanus loves your smile and how it touches every aspect of your face. To him, your smile reassures him that he is valid and can be taken seriously. Furthermore, it reveals how happy you are to be around him and share in his interests. He really needs to be reminded of your love, and to look at your smiling face reveals all he needs to know. 

C omfort - How would they help their s/o when they feel down/have a panic attack etc.?

When his s/o feels down about a certain matter, or is facing a sudden bout of bad mental health, his first instinct is to comfort you and then aim to find solutions. If you're in a public place when a panic attack occurs, he'll immediately steer you away from the crowd into a secluded area and then instruct you to follow your exercises in order to calm down. Once you've reached a decent equilibrium, he'll begin to hug you and soothe any worries that seem to be bothering you. When all else fails though, he has a way with making you laugh without fail every time. 

Overall, he's very empathic and will pick up on anything you may be needed at any given time.

Ever since he first met you, Silvanus had known he wanted a future with you. Once he started his relationship with you though, he knew he wanted more. Although children had never been a serious topic that he had considered, you had changed that opinion very quickly. After your marriage, he brought up the idea to you and waited till see your opinion on the matter before he did anything serious. If you didn't want any children, he may be disheartened for a while, but will ultimately accept it given a bit of time. If you say yes though, he will be over the moon. Lord knows he needs someone as excitable as he is for company.

Although he doesn’t intentionally do it, Silvanus is usually the more dominant one in you two’s relationship. With his excitable nature and drive to please you, he usually takes the more dominant role in the relationship. But he is more than willing to have you take control over things. 

Overall, he just lets his passion flow and goes along with how it ends up.

If a fight occurred between the two of you, it would have to be very serious. Usually you two can discuss issues in a clear and effective manner, but occasionally something will pop up that will make your emotions take control. When that happens, your fight usually lasts for a couple hours and includes a heavy yelling match; after you two finish and calm down though, you come back to each other and deal with the issue properly.

In general, Silvanus is beyond grateful. Whether it be for life, other people or you, he is just glad to be able to walk through life and experience all of its joys. His injuries left him with an appreciation for life and for the people that have helped him through the years. 

You have been there for him in both the good and bad times since you two met, and he could never repay the amount of happiness you have made him feel over the years. And he is aware of that every day he wakes up.

Since you two do not have a lot of free time and are always at school or with each other, there isn’t much he can, or would, hide from you. After years of being together, he feels as though he can confide in you for a number of things and trusts you to hold even his darkest of secrets. And he knows that you would do the same when it comes to him.

Although Dumbledore states that his injuries were the source of his new mellow attitude on life and teaching, everyone knows that it was really you that changed him for the better. You act as his metaphorical stabilizer and help him find a calmer medium rather than let him go into situations unhinged. Although you didn’t change his overall personality, you did help him work through his weaker aspects and reach an ideal form of himself.

J ealousy - Do they get jealous easily? How do they deal with it?

Given the amount of major injuries he has sustained over the years, he knows that there are numerous other candidates that you would be better suited with. He doesn’t think of himself as conventionally attractive, but his usual excitability calms his insecurity. 

You have been with him for years, so he knows that a person making you laugh at a stupid joke isn’t enough to steal you away from him. It still makes him nervous though. One can never know when love is involved. 

K iss - Are they a good kisser? What was the first kiss like?

In terms of kissing, Kettleburn's can only go one of four ways: short and sweet, slow and languid, fast and excited, or hard and passionate. Depending on the situation and where you are, the most common ones to get from him are either the slow and languid ones or the short and sweet ones. He usually doesn't have a lot of time during the school day, but when he does he stops by you and gifts you a short and sweet kiss on the nose, cheeks, then mouth. The younger kids find it kind of disgusting, but the older ones have come to think of it as oddly adorable. Once you two are alone though, he draws the kisses out to be longer and more love filled. Those times are definitely his favorite, and when the end  he can't help but feel a little sad.

What can he say though? Your kisses are rather addicting.

Unlike others, Silvanus knew you were the one for him almost immediately. Most people are put off by his passion and excitable personality, but not you. You were receptive to his interests and let him rant about anything and everything. 

When trust was gained, he started to look towards you more when he had to make certain decisions. Your opinion and input means a lot to him, and he doesn’t want you to forget that. 

It wouldn’t be until he saw you care for his magical creatures that he would realize his true feelings for you though. Besides other Magizoologists, he has never had a friend that acted so compassionate and unaffected by the various creatures he took an interest in. (Even Chimaeras) And he wasn’t gonna let someone like you slip through his fingers.

Which is why, when you were putting some Nifflers in their makeshift home to get some sleep, he pulled you into a fond hug and connected your lips.

Marriage is a definite when it comes to Silvanus. After two to three years of being together, he decides that he wants to be there for you through thick and thin and seal the deal. To propose, he uses the aid of his magical creatures and some entertaining spells he learned just for the occasion.

The night he proposed to you, he took you to visit one of his favorite spots in the Scottish Highlands and set up one of your favorite dinners. After a night of aesthetic visuals, delicious food, and interactions with native magical creatures, he finally let the question slip. And only when you said yes did he finally break out in tears and laughter. 

Being married to Kettleburn would not be too different from a regular relationship to be honest. The only difference is the joy he and you get when you’re able to say that you are each other’s husband/wife/etc.

Out of all the names that Silvanus could call you, Sunshine, Dear, and Mo Leannan are his favorite. He loves to remind you of how happy you make him and if he can include a nickname into that then he is more than happy. Plus, he loves the look on your face when he calls you them. The blush that spreads across your checks brightens his day significantly. 

O n Cloud Nine - What are they like when they are in love? Is it obvious for others? How do they express their feelings?

Although Kettleburn seems to be on cloud nine almost 24/7, nothing could be farther than the truth. He is hit by boughs of depression, anxiety, insecurity, and irritation when faced with various different situations. Whenever he gets into those funks though, he just switches his attention onto both of you guys' love for eachother and immediately has his mood raised. When in love, Kettleburn makes it the most obvious thing in the world. Even after years of marriage you both act as though you're in your honeymoon stage of your relationship. Outside of class, he'll seek you out in order to just spend time together. More than enough times has he been spotted sitting in on your classes and, essentially, being your own personal teaching assistant. Not that it bothered you though; you got to spend more time with the love of your life and also got some help teaching your rowdy students. What could possibly be bad about that?

Given his profession, Silvanus expresses his love through physical affection as well with spoken affection. He doesn't want to make any action unclear when it comes to you knowing your worth to him. And if that means being as clear as possible with his actions, it's a price he's willing to pay.

Yikes, where to start. Kettleburn is very upfront about his relationship with you, and will not shut up about it. You have been such a vital aspect in his life and to not hold you in such high praise makes him feel a tad guilty. After the first hundred times of him ranting about you though, many professors start to get annoyed. They think that his pure love for you is admirable, but they don’t need every conversation to be centered around that. 

Silvanus has no qualms about showing his love for you in public. Although he doesn't wish to embarrass you, he can’t help but express his love for you. You’ve meant so much to him for so long, and if he mistreated that built trust he would be devastated.

Silvanus is essentially an empath at this point, so understanding you and your feelings is fairly easy to him. Furthermore, he has a way of deflecting attention off of you when you feel pressured or self conscious, which helps you significantly. All the little things he does for you aids the bond you both have developed and maintained over the years. You've even developed most of those skills as well, given you aren't as skilled at them as he is. When it comes to being the ultimate sidekick though, Silvanus has always got your back.

In terms of being serious, Silvanus is not an expert. He can be undoubtedly romantic, but his actions are usually ones of excitement and passion. Which is something that you’ve come to enjoy over your years together. He is courteous, compassionate, and undeniably quirky. lmao Everything action he makes doesn’t get made without you in mind. To make you happy, he offers little trinkets he created for you, entertains you with stories from both of your pasts, sets aside time for both of you to enjoy, and lets you aid him with the care of his magical creatures.

Given the fact that you’ve helped achieve so much in his field (in Hogwarts and the wizarding world), Silvanus has sworn to help you advance in yours in any way that he can. And, although he is not the best in (y/f/s), he offers you so much support it’s overwhelming. He has made a number of influential acquaintances over the years, so getting you help from better resources is somewhat easy. Needless to say, he is, and always be, your number one supporter.

Although he can handle a routine, Silvanus adores spontaneity and spicing up your relationship. He loves the thrill of trying something new and getting out of his comfort zone; whether it be in the bedroom or in pda, he loves living for the moment. It isn’t something that he needs though. Anything that makes you uncomfortable instantly puts him off. He’s only willing to go as far as you want and can easily adapt to your wants and needs.

Given how well Silvanus handles magical creatures, as well as the fact that he dedicates his life to understanding and helping them, it is fair to say that he is exceedingly empathic. 

He knows almost all of your quirks and, given you’ve been married for over ten years, he has a great grasp of your unique routines. Whenever you need alone time or comfort, he immediately picks up on your vibe and handles the situation in the most appropriate manner. 

As your relationship progresses, he makes an effort to leave you little gifts that he made or found throughout the day and always leaves you affectionate notes in places he knows you’ll look. 

It honestly makes your heart melt and improves your day by ninety percent. 

Much to his student’s surprise, he gives the same amount of energy and consideration to you as he does magical creatures. To him, you take first priority and anything he can do to express his love for you will be done in a heartbeat. Compared to his career, Hogwarts, and the animals he takes care of, you always end up being more important. He could trade everything he had and it still wouldn't be enough to reach your worth. He has never had someone that cares about him as much as you in his life besides his parents and he knows that if he doesn't cherish you he may never meet another person like that ever again. (Magical creatures can only help so much in situations like that you know?)

W ild Card - A random Fluff Headcanon

He has collections of photos he’s taken of you two over the years. Despite what people think, magical creatures aren’t his only passion; photography is as well. From the first kiss you shared to the most recent lesson he sat in on, he has the most randomest and dorky pictures of you. The one he cherishes the most though, is the album he constructed of you two’s wedding day. He has two copies of it: one in your shared quarters and one in his desk in his indoor classroom. Whenever he’s had a bad day, or gets a little more glum than usual, he’ll whip out the album and relive the one of the happiest days of his life.

If Silvanus Kettleburn is known for one thing above all else, it’s his deep, passionate nature. Paired with his Hufflepuff loyalty, he turns into the most affectionate partner you've ever had. 

Although you have restraint when it comes to showing too much physical affection in public, you two can still be found cuddling quite often near the Forbidden Forest with a few of the calmer Kneazles. On top of that, you too are barely found apart from each other when grading student's assignments or working on a new lesson plan for each other's classes.

When sitting in the Great Hall for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, he is always found pulling out your chair and holding your hand in a loving grip. The love-sick puppy dog eyes he throws at you either makes the students gush or gag. Depending on the situation. lmao

During your off hours, you two either curl up in bed together, practice fun little charms you both created, read your respective literature choices, or indulge in a much-needed make-out session.

Copes surprisingly well compared to others, honestly. Given the fact he has to give almost constant attention to his magical creatures, finding a distraction when you're away for longer than a couple days is pretty easy for him. When your stay away from him lasts a week or longer though, he usually starts conversations through your patronus' and continues them until you get back. It's pretty cute when you send messages at the same time though. Over the years, you guys' patronus' have become similar; and since he seemed to love you with a strong and passionate love, his patronus soon mimicked yours. When they met though, the two (y/p) would dance around each other and nuzzle their heads together. Overall, it expresses the love you two can't express when away from one another.

In terms of the length he would go for the relationship, Silvanus would do anything to maintain you guys’ bond. Ever since you reciprocated his passion, he has been entirely devoted to you. as any Hufflepuff would And, although he loves you more than anything else in his life, he would be willing to give you up if that would make you happy. Because, if you really love someone, you have to be willing to let them leave and put their happiness first. Even if it means you aren’t able to have them anymore. He wouldn’t let you leave on a bad note though; you both have endured numerous difficult times together and have enjoyed an insurmountable number of good times. Pairing: Cedric the Sorcerer x Alchemist! Reader

Notes: 😳😳 Yikes, this took too long to post lmaoo; hopefully the third installment is finished sooner than this one. I’m sorry to anyone who has been interested in this for its lateness!! For this one I was going for the same story line as the first part, but in Cedric’s point of view; that’s why it seems so similar. Being born the son of Goodwyn the Great, Cedric was destined to have unreachable expectations pushed onto him; his father’s blatant adoration for fame and glory had been clear to Cedric from an early age and, given he was the only son in his family, he knew that he would soon be groomed into his father’s perfect replacement for when he retired as the Royal Sorcerer. 

The only problem that arose with that goal was that Cedric was only a child and was prone to making mistake after mistake. He knew he wasn’t perfect, no person is, but why did his father have to mention that fact so much?

It appeared that his father just couldn’t understand the notion that he was a conscience, feeling person though and decided to continue his crude actions anyway. No matter how much it hurt Cedric. 

Unbothered by this fact though, his father set out on a mission to make Cedric’s life almost unbearable and filled to the brim with dread over the fact that he would probably never become the royal sorcerer or get the family wand. In Goodwyn’s eyes, Cedric was no more than a mistake that would never be worthy. And at this point, Cedric was starting to believe it.

The days he spent subjected to his father’s emotional neglect and constant taunting when he was tricked into messing up his spells had left him in an emotional limbo that he could not escape from. And who was he to not be affected by this tortuous treatment?

Soon he was counting down the days until he could get away from his toxic family in the castle and attend school at Hexley Hall.

One upside to Goodwyn, in Cedric’s opinion, was that he was just as skilled a sorcerer that he claimed he was. Cedric wasn’t sure if this was something he should feel more exasperated about, but he knew that he couldn’t deny the fact. 

No matter how much he desired to demonize his father.

He had the ability to travel almost anywhere in the span of minutes and that was very convenient to a kid who had a very short attention span. And although he couldn’t travel to vast distances, Goodwyn could certainly get to many places three times faster than others. 

Which meant that Cedric could arrive at Hexley Hall faster than all of the other kids and have more time to explore his home for the next seven years. 

In less than one hour, Cedric and his father had travelled from the Castle and made it to the gate of Hexley Hall. The clean exterior of the castle was only rivaled by the beautiful architecture that made it the prestigious academy it is. 

Wasting no time leaving his father and rushing with his items to the front doors, Cedric was awe-struck by the fact that the inside was even more beautiful than the outside. Even inch of it was designed with a purpose and each piece of art was shown with pride and respect. 

And when he saw the warm smiles of the teachers waiting in the hall, beckoning him in, Cedric knew that he could get used to his new home.

After being toured around the castle by one of the teachers, as well as given a brief run down of its history, Cedric was left to his own accord and given a map so he wouldn’t get lost. The map had an incantation that would show him his current location and bedroom, which he thought was very convenient. But he wasn’t surprised, he knew how lost kids could get without proper guidance.

Looking down at the map after reciting the spell, he found a glowing mark on where his assigned dorm was located. Ironically enough, his was located with the rest of the sorcerers, witches, wizards, and warlocks. 

Dinner commenced shortly after introductions were made and, after a bout of awkward shuffling, he found a quiet location to eat and then began his trek to his new dormitory.

By chanting the wandless spell to the map once again, an arrow led to his room in the lower regions of the castle where he began to unpack his hefty luggage. 

After neatly organizing all of his ingredients, clothes, and books he quickly laid himself down on the comfortable mattress and ran through the events of the day. Although he still hadn't met any friends yet, he was able to get away from his father and analyze the place he’d be living in for a portion of his teenage life. 

Putting aside those thoughts, he curled into a fetal position and fell into the most blissful sleep he’s had in years.

Looks about right, Cedric thought to himself as he made his way down to the Great Hall for breakfast. 

Being somewhat challenged by wand-based spells, Cedric was relieved to see that he had potions for his first class; it was the one subject that he excelled at and was something that used to calm the nerves created by his domineering father. 

So he had no doubt that he would start his days off good with the way things looked on his schedule. 

What if no one likes me enough to partner up with me though? he asked himself while ringing his wrists. 

I guess I’ll just have to take it one step at a time….

With that thought in mind, he picked up his pace and quickly sat in a secluded spot. Looking around, he found that many people had already begun making friends. And, although this was a troubling notion given he had yet to meet anyone, he had hope that he would meet at leat (one) person that would approve of his company. 

There has to be at least ONE person who will like me right? he questioned while gazing around the expansive room. Looking to the section where all the alchemy students sat, his eyes stopped on a girl with the most adorable (h/l) haircut and beautiful disposition.

Neptune’s Nettles they were gorgeous...Hopefully I share some classes with her. Blushing, he looked back down at his breakfast and waited until it was time to head to his first class session of the year.

Nice! Cedric thought. I’ve got the first pick of any seat in the class!

Looking around, he found a spot that felt just right; it wasn’t too far in the back and was just enough to be in the front and in a corner. 

Smiling smugly, he sat down and began to unpack all the necessary items listed on the board in front of him. 

Humming to himself, Cedric slowly stopped when he heard a series of footsteps approaching the classroom. 

Thinking it was just the professor, given how early Cedric arrived, he kept his head down and decided to begin labelling the items in his journal.

That is, until he felt a tap on his shoulder. Whipping his head back, he stared dumbfounded at who was standing behind him: the girl from this morning!

Oh goodness, what if I’m sitting in the spot she wants?? What if she has some sort of beef with me already?? Oh dear, I’m gonna throw up..

This thought process continued until you let out a shy, "Do you mind if I sit next to you? I like the feel of this corner and you don't look half as bad as the rest of our class. Plus, I haven’t had much luck making friends."

OH, he thought, That’s not what I was expecting. Trailing his eyes to yours, he searched for any sign of this being a lie but couldn’t find any. 

Softening his features, he opened his mouth and let out a:

"Really?....I suppose I don't mind." 

He cautiously lifted his palm to you and said, "My names Cedric. I'm coming here to become one of the next Royal Sorcerers. What about you?"

With a firm grip, you shook his hand and settled down into your seat next to his. Watching you take out your schedule he heard you reply, "(y/n) Erwin! I'm studying to become the Royal Alchemist!"

Gripping your chin with an inquisitive look, you added a quick, "You wouldn't happen to be related to Goodyn the Great would you? I thought I recognized you at first, but I couldn't quite place from where…."

"Uhm….Yeah, I am. D-did you live at the castle as well?"

Analyzing you, he tried to remember times in which he would have seen you, but none came to mind. Which wasn’t surprising given he had all of his time stolen from either the prince or his father. 

His thought process was halted though when you looked at him and said, "Yep. My dad's the Royal Astronomer, so we get to live with him at the castle…..I've seen you around you know….I always meant to say hi, but your dad and sister seemed to take up most of your time."

He rubbed his wrists anxiously and let out a, "yeah, they tend to do that…...but I digress. Do wanna compare schedules? I don't have any friends either, and y-you don't seem that bad as well…."

Looking down at the schedule you held loosely in your hand he noticed that it didn't seem so far off from his. You were both new to the school after all, so it made a tad bit of sense but luckily you both wouldn't have to split up very much for the next couple of years.

Surprisingly, it seemed as though you would be seeing a lot of each other. Which didn't seem to bother either of you that much. After confirming your new friendship and planning your day out together, you both set up the rest of your supplies and began your first class of the day.

After cleaning up your respective area of the shared potions table when class ended, Cedric reminisced on how well the class had actually gone. Despite both of you being new, you and Cedric seemed to work in a sort of synchronized state. Even your teacher pointed out how good you two were together. This had made Cedric feel elated, it was the first praise he had gotten since leaving his father; that alone made him feel on top of the world. Even more so when he took into account that he gained a friend and intellectual equal.

Picking up the last of his mess, he gently put his bag over his shoulder and looked back to you waiting for him at the end of the desk.

You looked up and down and asked slowly, “Would you mind if I sat with you in our other classes as well today? I’m not really…..friends with anyone else here yet and we seem to make a good team. Plus, you seem really sweet.”

“I’d love to!,” he said in an excitable raised voice. His face broke out in a flustered blush at how desperate he sounded and quickly let out a, “I mean, if that’s what you want to do…”

To that, you chuckled and lightly punched his shoulder saying, “Of course I would you dork. Now let's hurry up so we can get the best seats in our next class."

After that day, the two of you were like two peas in a pod. Whenever you both had a class, were going somewhere, or ate, you were attached to the hip. Even teachers knew that, if they couldn’t find one of you, they wouldn’t find the other either as well. 

For you two, there was never a subject left unstudied, never a prank left undone, and never a conversation left undiscussed.

It started off with you both teaming up in your shared classes, meeting for meals, and talking on the way to class, but soon branched off outside of school. 

With coaching from you, and years of positive reinforcement on your end, Cedric had been coaxed out of his hesitant and neglected shell. All it took was one fond look and a caress of his hair from you and Cedric was turned into mush. The love you showed him through the years made him see that not everyone was out to get him. And not everyone was untrustworthy. 

In summary, you brought hope in humanity back into his life. Something that he surely would have gone off the deep-end without.

To others, it seemed as though you had put him under a spell and transformed him into a new man; Cedric had never felt so confident in his life.

Especially since he never had anyone to support him. Until you, that is……

Year 7 at Hexley Hall

Flicking your wand in a cursive “J” formation while pointing your wand at the painted black stone, Cedric watched as you whispered, “Avifors.” 

Within seconds, the rock you had been pointing at morphed in size and began to take the shape of a sleek, black raven that immediately began pecking the tip of your index finger. It cocked its head at you and turned to inspect Cedric.

Cedric, gazing back at the bird, looked absolutely stunned at the sight of this seemingly never-heard-of spell and immediately began to shift his eyes to you and then raven. He wasn’t sure where you had learned that, since you were only taking alchemy classes, but he was beyond interested in knowing.

“Merlin’s Beard! Did you make that spell up all on your own?”

“Not exactly,” you chuckled, “My father and I worked for days to come up with the correct spell and paint concoction when I was a child. But it worked out, and now I have a way to create any type of bird to do my bidding!”

Setting his chin in his palm, he began to gaze fondly at the scene in front of him and think about all the things he has yet to learn about you. 

“Would it be alright if you taught me that spell? I know it’s yours and everything….. but it’s too bloody brilliant to be left unpracticed.”

“Sure!.......I'll write it down for you by tomorrow.”

That confirmation made his heart swoon and a grin break out on his face. Yet another thing that would bring him closer to you. He knew that this spell was very special to you, so you being willing to show him it reassured him that you cared about him as much as he cared about you.

He was willing to do anything for you and perfecting your spell was one of the best ways he could think of to honor your spectacular intelligence.

When night revealed itself and Cedric was tucked away trying to complete his assignment, he began to reminisce on the time he spent with you that day. He knew how special that spell was to you, and knew that you sharing it with him meant something. Right?

After all, you didn’t share personal things like that with just anyone; even he wasn’t privy to most of your private thoughts and feelings. Up until recently that is; you had begun to reveal more and more about yourself to him and, honestly, it made Cedric finally feel special and worthwhile. Which did NOT help the fact that he had been in love with you for the last five years. 

And thought Cedric knew that he had to confess soon, he needed to know if you felt the same before he ruined whatever it was that you two had going on right now. If you didn’t reciprocate his feelings….that would make everything pretty awkward….Which wouldn’t help his situation out too much.

At least it would give him some closure....

He had been with you at every step of the way through your years at Hexley Hall, and he knew that you would be there for him for days to come. Working at Enchancia’s castle wouldn’t stop the bond that you both had formed over the years; it would only make it grow. Which it what he was hoping would help you develop feelings for him.

With each other until the end, that’s what you both had promised one another. 

‘If only she liked me back,’ he thought to himself, gazing into the spell that he had been too distracted to work on for the last two hours. 

With a huff of a laugh, he closed his textbook and laid down to go to sleep.  

As if…………..
