Our teachers keep pairing us together even though we’re polar opposites, but I can’t deny that you’re really cute.

We’ve been best friends since the fifth grade, so could you please pretend to be my fake (boyfriend/girlfriend) to get this weirdo to stop creeping on me.

Please don’t be mad, but I found a box of stray kittens and a puppy who thinks it’s a cat and now they’re living with us.

I am now the officiant at my best friend’s wedding, so donate money to my unofficial church because I need to pay rent.

You’re really cute and keep ordering black coffee at my shop, but whenever you take a sip you look disgusted. I just wanted to know if you were okay and wanted something a bit sweeter.

We’re both college professors and some students have both of our classes and are now trying to set us up because we both get really dorky and passionate about certain subjects.

I’m a super villain and you’re a super hero. I know we’re supposed to be enemies but would you like to get coffee sometime?

 I know we’re best friends and all, but could you maybe be my date to my cousin’s wedding to prove to my judgmental relatives that I can find love and that I won’t be alone for the rest of my life.

You’re the new student and I’m the kid who gets constantly picked on and beaten up because I’m the smartest and I have weird habits and hobbies. Now, you’re defending me for no good reason, but I’m not really concerned with that. What I am concerned with is where did you learn to fight like that because I feel like the government would like to use you as a secret weapon of some sort.

You come from a small town that I’ve probably never heard of and you’re really trusting of people and this is your first time you’ve ever been to a really big city. Now, I’m making sure that you don’t end up dead and politely guiding you around the city, but I’m surprised now because you’re making friends with really dangerous people. Also, how are you now friends with the boss of a really big mafia?

I’m a new demon, and I’m assigned to you. But, you’re really depressed, so instead of making your life worse I’ve made it better. So, now I’m slowly redeeming myself and becoming your guardian angel. Oops.

Our kids are best friends and really want to be siblings, so now they’re pulling a Parent Trap.

I’m really stressed out right now, so don’t question why there are 20 muffins, seven cakes, and about 10 batches of cupcakes.

I will always believe that you are too good, too pure, and too innocent for this world even as you shout death threats in traffic.

We’re both in detention because I punched you for stealing my mechanical pencil, but I also punched you because you’re cute but an arrogant asshole and I just needed a reason to give you a black eye.

You’re my neighbor and we both go to the same university, but you get drunk and throw huge parties every weekend, so now I’m pissed off because I’m trying to study for exams. So could you stop being an asshole during exam week. Thanks. 

★The Little Ordinary Things That Everyone Ought To Do★

      ✧ A/N: This isn’t a series exactly, but these drabbles can be considered to exist in the same universe. Feelin like this fic doesn’t flow as much as I’d like, but hopefully it does our boy justice. Abner Appreciators Do Interact!!

Now, say what you will about Belle Reve, but on some days it had its benefits. That is, you thought it had its benefits. Most prisoners, and any sane person for that matter, knew that nothing good came from the deadliest prison in the entire country. Entire world for that matter. It held all the people society deemed unfavorable as well as every super-villain that the authorities could catch.

And despite all that, you still found the small slivers of good buried within its decrepit walls. Most notably being the person you found yourself wanting to spend every waking second with. Your favorite person in the whole world. A person named Abner Krill. 

Though a tad reserved, you found yourself subtly charmed by the, admittedly, attractive ‘villain.’ It had taken years of forced conversations, shared food, and small gifts but, sooner or later, Abner had warmed up to you. You were the only person he had known that had ever shown him kindness just for the sake of being kind. This sense of security and trust you two created over the years only served to strengthen your bond and, over time, Abner began to see less and less of his mother in you; finally being able to appreciate you as your full self. Looks and all.

And while he appreciated your love and beauty with every fibre of his being, it was the little domestic moments you two shared that he loved the most. The moments where he felt the most human. The moments where he was normal and not looked at and analyzed clinically. The moments where he could pretend he wasn’t locked up like some piece of discarded trash and rather, at home with you by his side. 

Moments like this.

“Soooo, which one you want? We got gold, black, teal...I think?, and this nice shade of red.”

Abner peered at the various bottles of colored liquid you had spread out around the both of you and thought about which one would be a good choice for you two.

They all looked nice....but which would be a good fit for this month? 

....

More importantly, how could a decision so small be so frustrating?

He picked at the remnants of the emerald green nail polish stuck to the edges of his thumb (a choice you had made last month) and gave you a pensive look.

“Ah geez....I don’t know......What d’you think?” 

Wagging your finger at him, you let out a disagreeing noise.

“Nuh-uh, not fair. I picked last month’s color. It’s your turn now dippin’ dots.”

This only made him more frustrated.

“C’mon, please? Give me something to work off at least??”

Although seemingly harmless, situations such as there were a sad reality between you and Abner. 

Whenever a decision had to be made you were usually the one who had to make ‘em. Abner, out of no fault of his own, always had this underlying fear that you would somehow hate whatever choice slipped out of his mouth; perhaps looking to berate him like all the others. Unsurprisingly, that had not been the case. You had, in fact, enthusiastically supported whatever he chose to do in every situation. [As long as it was morally correct that is...] And throughout both of your sentences at Belle Reve you had slowly, but surely, gotten him out of the habit of using self-depreciating humor. A trait picked up through his countless trauma responses. Not unlike that of his undying cynicism.

That being said, it was during mundane, domestic situations like this that his trauma occasionally resurfaced; the comfort being a little too foreign and unwelcoming for his taste.

With a reluctant sigh, you pushed the gold and black bottles together. The clink of the glasses breaking the momentary silence.

“Well, I’m pretty sure that rumor of Waller picking us for the new suicide mission is true. So if that’s the case....these two might match best with our costumes.”

Pushing the red bottle over to the others, you continued your sentiment...

“Buuuttt, this might be a little more flattering if that’s the look you’re going for.”

Your opinion seemed to do the trick and it appeared as though Abner had finally made up his mind.

“How about all three..?”

He scratched his chin out of nervousness, but ultimately looked content with his choice; looking up to see if you approved as well. Which you did. 

“Why not! It’ll go perfect with your polka-dot man persona. Gotta love a man who stays in uniform.”

With a suppressed smirk he shook his head and hid his head in his chest, a

“Yeah, yeah okay Captain Cold..like you’re one to talk,” being let out underneath his breath. 

Huffing, you kicked his shin playfully.

“I heard that y’know. You keep that up and you’ll be painting your own nails buster.”

That seemed to humble him enough and soon the fake groveling began; praying for your forgiveness so he wouldn’t fuck up his nails like he had countless times before. 

Laughing at the stupidity of the situation, you both lamented on the grey cloud that was closing in on the distance. Neither of you knew what would eventually happen on the suicide mission you would no doubt be forced to attend, but at very least you had moments like these to live off of. Ones where you both could live as domestically as you could, knowing that, despite your situation, you had each other. 

Each waiting out the storm with the other. Each holding each other when things got rough. Each fantasizing about what could’ve happened had things been different.

And while it would take some time before Abner would fully grow into his own, at least you could go to sleep peacefully knowing you were one of the rare few that got to see him at his best.

All you knew for certain at the moment though was that you had a lot of work to do if you wanted to get you guys’ nails done before dinner.

With defection came a wide plethora of new foods, ideas, and things to explore for the Vorta. And Weyoun wants to explore every single one with the one he love most: you. 

A few of his favourite activities to indulge in include watching films and trying out new culinary delights. He, of course, has no sense of aesthetic, but with your help he begins to finally understand the simple pleasures in life. 

If anything, when it comes to films, he enjoys analyzing the character’s behaviour so that he can apply his newly gained knowledge to those around him. Whether it has any real life application and truth is something that he will happily figure out through trial and error.

B eauty - What do they admire about their s/o? What do they think is beautiful about them?

If something is perfect, can someone really pick an aspect to favor over all the others? That’s how Weyoun views it at least. So why should you be any different?

To Weyoun, every aspect of you was sculpted by the Founders; there was not one part of you that was less than perfect and Weyoun intended to prove that point every day. 

Despite that though, Weyoun has a strange interest in your eyes. He read somewhere that the eyes were the gateway to the soul, and to know that he can access the depths of your inner psyche just by gazing into your eyes intrigues him more than anything else has. If your soul was anywhere near as beautiful as your eyes, Weyoun swears that he would fall even more in love with you.

Oddly enough, he is also particularly found of your arms. He knows it’s a weird thing to focus on, but the way in which you wrap them around him makes him feel like the safest person in the galaxy. Especially when his fears begin to dominate his thoughts.

Mentally, he appreciates your compassion and honesty. Before you, he had only encountered those who had their minds made up on how they felt about him. No one tried to get to know the real him and had attempted to look past the responsibilities the dominion had thrust upon him even less. When you came around though, he finally got to experience what it was like for a person to care for and appreciate even the smallest aspects of himself.

And to be cared for and loved in such a genuine way for the first time is one of the most emotional things to a love-starved person.

Anytime you feel burdened by an issue, Weyoun is by your side in an instant. He knows how it feels to be unappreciated and unloved so, if that's something you've been struggling with, he is more than happy to sit down with you and silence those fears. 

Working to make sure you know how much of a priority you are to him is as vital as breathing in his books.

If you have a day where you feel more depressed and apathetic, he has no issue laying with you and taking care of the aspects you feel like you can't deal with. Even if that means calling in sick for you, cancelling both of your appointments, or just helping you bathe.

Being skilled in the art of diplomacy, as well as being educated on all sorts of human issues, Weyoun knows how to deal with everything in a timely and efficient manner; especially when it comes to people. So if it’s an interpersonal issue you’ve been dealing with, he is more than glad to take the reigns and deal with people for you. 

Overall, he can't stand seeing you in pain of any kind.

Before defecting, Weyoun knew that there was little point in dreaming up a future with you. Although you liked his company, you did not like the company he hung around. And that was something that he knew would keep the two of you apart.

After defecting, he let his inner fantasies run wild. The more he learned about you, your culture, and everything else about you that he could get his hands on, the more he wants to be like the things you love. Anything as long as it meant he could be with you. 

There’s little that he doesn’t want to do with you actually. Get Married? Already bought the ring. Have a child? Don’t even mention it, he’s got time set aside or adoption papers ready as you speak. Up and run away to live a peaceful life by yourselves? The escape pod is ready darling...

All in all, Weyoun just wants to be there for and with you. So your future together is just based on what you and him are most comfortable with; which is usually something of your choice.

E qual - Are they the dominant one in the relationship, or are they rather passive?

Ever since he defected from the dominion, Weyoun has had a tad bit of trouble being dominant over someone he respects so highly. With those he considered beneath him, it was easy to be dominant. But with someone he loved and basically worshipped? He could never.

He is excessively submissive in a relationship, but that isn’t necessarily a bad thing. To you, this is a fantastic opportunity to shower him in affection, praise him, and let him heal from the horrific treatment he received at the hands of his 'Gods.' 

It may be a lot different than what he is used to, but after he gets the general feel of it everything clicks into place. 

Only after developing trust in your relationship will he begin to show his newly developed dominant side towards you. And let's be honest, we all liiivvee for dominant Weyoun 😩👏👏

True to his nature and profession, Weyoun is undoubtedly good at defusing situations; your fights being one of them. Though, that also means you two end up having a shockingly small amount of ‘fights’ over the period of your relationship. 

With your sympathetic and compassionate nature, as well as his diplomatic skills, you two have an effortless system devised in order to get to the root of every issue that ends up popping up.

Much like how he was to the founders and his ‘superiors,’ Weyoun is almost too willing to forgive your slip ups and mistakes made against him. And, although this may seem nice, the fact that he accepts any unwarranted judgment towards himself really concerns you. Just like many other traumas from his past, you are trying to help him move past and heal from certain experiences that make him feel inferior and unworthy.

If you two somehow did end up getting into a fight, he is somewhat ruthless with his words. When he reverts back to his old ways to comfort himself, he ends up being cold and calculating; putting himself in a better position so that he can feel safe and keep you at bay. When you both finally realize why he does this, you both make an attempt to heal the trauma and move on.

Being a born diplomat, he is naturally grateful. He understands the effort and care you put behind things, so he has no qualms with expressing his gratitude towards such efforts. 

Given the fact that he has had to be on the look out for everything his ‘enemies’ did, as well as anything that would make the ‘gods’ upset, he notices every little detail you put into things. This is especially true when it comes to you guys’ relationship; he knows how hard you work to help him heal, and he puts in just as much effort for you day in and day out.

Besides the secrets he has to keep for work and other people, Weyoun keeps an open and honest stream of communication between you two. He knows how vital knowledge can be when trying to achieve a goal. Especially when that goal is love. And, in order to experience everything that love has to offer, one lesson he is forced to learn is that of mutual trust.

Quid Pro Quo essentially. 

If you are willing to be vulnerable and trust him, why shouldn’t he be the same way?

Being honest, you and Weyoun have both learned something from being in a relationship together. 

For Weyoun, he learned the importance of vulnerability and how not everyone has negative intentions towards him; he can make friends with people AND receive things in return without having to give back. For him, anything foreign was not to be trusted. Everyone had negative intentions and didn’t realllyyy like him. But after you two got together, he learned to heal from those emotional wounds and learned about parts of himself that he never would have under the Dominion. 

On top of that, he learned to let loose and have fun with the things he experiences. Instead of always looking for the practical use of things and attempting to be productive, Weyoun begins to take his time and relax. Something he has, admittedly, never done before. 

On your part, Weyoun was taught you a lot about self-discipline and charisma. He taught you how to not only handle your emotions, but the emotions of those around you. And while others have picked up on the weird, but not entirely unwelcome change in you, they refrain from bringing it up. Especially when there’s a suspiciously intense Vorta breathing down their neck every time they do.

J ealousy - Do they get jealous easily? How do they deal with it?

Keeping you guys’ relationship a secret came with a lot of things. One of the main ones is having other people hit on you. CONSTANTLY. And while he too appreciates your beauty and personality, he feels as though he is the only one that should be graced with all the secret and vulnerable parts of you. Only he can be with you and know you on an intimate level.

So imagine how awful it felt when he learned that you had friends. The kind that you told loved and respected as well. Oh the humanity; boy is devastated.

Being serious though, he hides his jealousy very well. At first it wasn’t an emotion that he could pinpoint very well; he knew he was upset, he just didn’t know the reason why.

Weyoun is a fantastic kisser. Cannot. Stress. This. Enough. Man’s calculated, educated, precise, and adaptable. Of course he’s gonna pick up on all the little mannerisms you enjoy and prefer. Being honest, Weyoun probably does a plethora of research before you two have your first kiss so that he doesn’t disappoint you. The Vorta have no use for physical affection, so things like this, at first, are very confusing to him. Until he gives it a shot and learns about the benefits of it he’s probably hesitant to try things out with you.

His first kiss with you probably looked something like this:

L ove Confession - How would they confess to their s/o?

I feel as though Weyoun would really go all out for his confession, but like, in a very subtle way. Weyoun has no prior experience with being in a relationship, so naturally he has to do some research. Especially when he isn’t even sure what emotions he’s beginning to feel towards you.

At first he began to look for signs that you could possibly like him back. Flushed cheeks, nervous tone of voice, longing glances thrown his way, seeming too interested in your conversations and time spent together, literally anything. If you didn’t, then what was the point in wasting time admitting his feelings? Better to avoid it entirely than get outright rejected...

If you do show signs of having feelings towards him he begins to plan his next move: confessing. 

In order to achieve the best possible result, Weyoun researches everything he can on your interests and preferences. He picks the perfect date location, best food options, and even wears cologne that meets your scent preference. Then, he casually asks you if you want to spend sometime together and lets the night unravel itself; everything calculated, but not outright obvious.

When the night hits its peak, he begins to reveal all the emotions that he’s been developing towards you. He explains what drew him to you, how you’ve changed him, and how excited he’s become to move on from his previous lives. All because of your presence in his life.

It shocks you, no doubt, but you can’t help but believe him when he says:

“It’s you, because no one else makes sense. Whenever we’re together, the struggles become worth it and I find that I can only make it through the day when you’re around.”

M arriage - Do they want to get married? How do they propose? What would the marriage be like?

To Weyoun, being able to legitimize your union and show the universe just how dedicated you are to each other would be an absolute dream. Despite his apprehensiveness about it.

Once he learns to trust you fully (which will take a significant amount of time) the first thing he wants to do is ask you to marry him. Since he doesn't have any real friends, and even less people like him, you two have a small wedding on a friendly planet close to Deep Space Nine. You end up having (y/f/c) be your (person) of honour while he has Keevan be his best man. Along with what little company you two have, you both enjoy yourselves to the best of your abilities; having your ceremony, sharing the food you love, and exploring the woodland region you two got married in.

He doesn’t have any traditional clothing to wear from his home planet, so he gets Garak to tailor a purple suit to match nicely with your lilac wedding dress/purple suit.

N icknames - What do they call their s/o?

Since Weyoun isn’t accustomed to the many nicknames those in the Alpha Quadrant use, he uses those from his own tongue. His favourites include waiyau/waiyauta and zhimata because they’re straight to the point. He knows that no one else aboard Deep Space 9 understands Dominionese, so being able to reveal that you’re his partner and lover in an indirect manner feels amazing to him. If anything, it’s the only way that he can openly admit you’re in a relationship. 

But if anyone asks what it means he just says it’s a term of respect. Nothing too suspicious.

O n Cloud Nine - What are they like when they are in love? Is it obvious for others? How do they express their feelings?

When he’s in love, Weyoun doesn’t seem so intimidating. As much as he would like to admit differently, Weyoun is a die-hard romantic. Instead of breezing by stores in boredom like he used to he now stops to peruse their inventory; hoping to find something that you might like. 

Ever since you came into his life Weyoun began to slowly loose the facade that he had previously held together so efficiently. People begin to notice him becoming less focused on manipulating them and more interested in seeing things from their point of view. This boosts his popularity with other people, but also makes their suspicion double. It isn’t until people start realising that he’s in a relationship that they slowly start trusting him.

With you, Weyoun is more carefree and curious. He is free to explore ideas previously foreign to him and feels safe enough to voice opinions that would have been deadly to reveal in a past life.

Weyoun expresses his love in every form possible: written word, physical touch, kind and loving words, and small, but meaningful actions. It provides a welcoming distraction to his hectic life and makes him content, aware that his actions will bring you immense joy.

Given his past and current occupation, Weyoun is reluctant to release the status of your relationship to the public. His natural possessive instinct wants to show everyone that you are his and no one else's, but reality prevents him from doing this. If one of the countless enemies he made over the course of his lives decided that they wanted to seek revenge on him, what’s stopping them from using you as leverage?

As strong as he knows he is, seeing you get hurt would break him. Which is why he tries so hard to keep your relationship private. 

‘What other’s don’t know won’t hurt him’ is something that he lives by.

He is, by no means, shy to show you the affection you deserve, but he is scared of the repercussions it may have. So, instead, he does small things to show that he cares.

A smile when your glances meet across the room, a hand on the small of your back when he manoeuvres around you, pulling you into a dark corner to sneak a kiss- y’know, small things.

He has made a plethora of enemies through his various lives and it has made him cautious. There is no way to know if they will come after you, but all he knows is that he isn’t willing to take any unnecessary chances.

Author’s note: Hey! This is definitely something I didn’t expect to write lmao. I haven’t been in a writing mood lately, but after getting into David Spade again I knew I had to throw something together. Good news though! If there is anything that Richard loves to do, it’s activities that leans more on the physical side. As much as he loves academic pursuits, he can get tired of trying to maintain the persona of ‘the bookworm/nerd.’ When it comes to activities he enjoys doing with you, it really just depends on what type of person you are. If it’s physical, his go to activities include fixing up vintage cars, dancing, cycling, painting, and whatever else you enjoy doing. If it’s more mental, then he enjoys laying back, reading, doing crafts, or learning something new with you.

B eauty - What do they admire about their s/o? What do they think is beautiful about them?

If their is one thing that Richard admires about you physically, it’s your hair and eyes. Being a person interested in astrology, Richard knows that the eyes and hair can tell a lot about a person’s personality and self. And your’s show a person with a breathtaking personality. 

And something that he really loves about you is your ability to be accepting, creative, passionate, and unabashedly yourself. You never failed to accept all parts of him, whether they were good or bad. And when you figured out the situation with this hair, you never once faltered on your love and acceptance for him. Which he appreciates more than you know. 

C omfort - How would they help their s/o when they feel down/have a panic attack etc.?

Richard has definitely been at some low points in his life. Whether it be with his career, personality, or looks, he's been through it all. So if there's something be knows well, it's definitely a person in dire need of love and support.

When you're feeling down Richard focuses on the main thing you need at the moment. As much as he wants to listen and be supportive, he first has to deal with your body's needs. Having an anxiety attack? Do some breathing exercises, ground yourself, and take a bite of a lemon. Chest pain and irritable stomach from holding in all your negative emotions? Take a second to dance, cry, and release the negative thoughts. Then, when all that is said and done, he'll sit down with you and figure out the best way to solve your problems.

D reams -  How do they picture their future with their s/o?

Being a small town, settle down type, Richard has always seen you two having a small wedding with all your loved ones followed by having a few children. Although he never really planned to find 'the one,' you turned his life around and showed him that he is good and secure enough to finally start living the life he always wanted. And now that he knows you'll love him forever (hair or no hair), he's confident in the quiet life you'll soon live.

As much as he wants to be dominant and feel in control in the relationship, we all know his scrawny ass could never 😔. And we all know he would love to have someone dominate him. That being said, he loves the challenge that comes with both of you fighting for dominance. But he’s more than willing to calm down and allow you to take control more often than not. 

F ight - Would they be easy to forgive their s/o? How is their fighting?

Being the prick he is, especially with his mars in aries, it will definitely take Richard a while to calm down and discuss arguments with your. While fighting, he is vicious and acts like a wounded animal. None of it is really intentional, he just gets too heated too fast and gets caught up in his emotions. That, added to an inability to express his emotions properly at the moment he feels them, makes him a bit difficult in fights. 

That being said, once he calms down and feels the guilt of his actions he immediately comes back to you and spews out an apology. If your fight was especially bad, he’ll end up setting up a nice dinner for both of you and let out a heartfelt apology. He loves you with everything he has in him, but he’s still dealing with processing and expressing a variety of feelings (plus he’s a man lmao).

With his string of luck and life choices, Richard is very grateful for all of the good things he has in his life; especially you. He understands first hand how fast life can turn sour, so he doesn’t take a second of his life for granted once he meets you. 

He knows how much effort you’ve put into y’alls relationship and is aware of how much of impact you’ve had on his life and personality. And for everything that you do, he is deeply appreciative. And he tries to return that energy back to you 100% every day you two are together.

After you figured out his secret about his hair, he knew that he could trust you with everything else. The only thing that he keeps to himself really are secrets that deal with surprises for you. Besides that, he shares relatively everything that concerns him.

In a way, you both change different aspects of each other; while Richard makes you more sarcastic and ambitious, you make Richard more laid back and wholesome. But when you mix, there seems to be a harmonious balance of the perfect personality. 

Furthermore, you help each other work through personal trauma and make sure that the other isn’t falling into a bought of negative emotions. That strengthens your relationship while also making you both better versions of yourself. 

J ealousy - Do they get jealous easily? How do they deal with it?

Being the sarcastic prick and insecure person he is, Richard is definitely someone who gets jealous easily. To him, you could have anyone you wanted; someone with hair, a better build, and definitely with a better personality. And when he sees you with a man that possess all of those things, he tends to get pretty jealous. 

But he never takes that out on you. He knows that you would never cheat on him or avoid communicating your intentions. When a situation like this comes up, he usually takes a moment to contemplate his insecurities, stews in it for while, then brings it up to you. When that’s all said and done though, you both usually curl up and remind each other how much you both love and appreciate each other.

Overall, Richard is actually a pretty decent kisser. He moves in just the right ways and knows how to avoid being excessive. Additionally, with the love that he puts behind every kiss, he makes you feel loved and appreciated with every languid motion. 

The first kiss you two shared was after a company party when you took him home to watch a movie. You both got bored of waiting around and doing nothing at the party, so you left to do something more fun together. After sitting on the opposite ends of your couch, you both started to slowly inch closer and closer to each other. By the time you both started cuddling together, he felt as though the time was perfect to lean in and risk it all. 

And when he gripped your chin, pulled you in, and placed a slow kiss to your lips, you both knew that you wanted to turn this official. 

That being said, he still wanted your consent on if things would truly turn official or not. After letting out a whispered confession of love to you, you both thought it wise to discuss your newly developed relationship.

Getting married is a definite for Richard. He doesn’t care what kind of wedding it is or when it happens, he just wants everybody to know that you’re his and that he’s yours. 

Not one to be overly dramatic or public about an important moment, Richard proposes to you while you two are on a camping trip together in the mountains. You had both just woken up and began drinking your coffee on a log by one of the lookouts. With the rising sun hitting your eyes an hair in all the right points, he knew that he had to propose; it was the perfect moment. Not even his nerves could prevent him from doing it.

With this man’s wit and sarcasm, he never fails to have new and creative nicknames for you. Usually though, your nicknames depend on the type of mood he’s feelilng.

Sarcastic? My sweet turtle dove. Affectionate? Sweetheart. Playful? Sugar/Angel Face.

O n Cloud Nine - What are they like when they are in love? Is it obvious for others? How do they express their feelings?

When in love, Richard can act like a wistful and love-struck romantic. From afar, Richard can be seen sending you longing and affectionate looks. Furthermore, when you two are near each other, people pick up the way he always drifts really close to you and continuously reaches towards your hand.

While he has a tendency to act aloof and uncaring, Richard does make it a priority to tell you how much he loves you (as well as how radiant you look to him) at least twice a day. He never wants you to feel as though he doesn’t think you are anything less than deserving of all the love you can handle. Even if you two fight, he always puts aside his pride and remembers to tell you that he loves you.

When it comes to PDA at the beginning of you two’s relationship, Richard wasn’t too much of a fan. He was still stuck in the mindset that he had a reputation to uphold; he couldn’t be seen being soft and mushy, he had to be suave and respectable. But as you guys’ relationship progresses he begins to appreciate showing you love no matter the situation. 

If you were to ask one of his coworkers on how he’s changed since being with you, they would definitely point out the fact that he has softened up considerably. He doesn’t care too much about his ‘reputation’ as much since he only focuses on showing you affection during the moments where it fits. By the time you two create a well-rounded relationship, he begins to casually brag about you and how you are the most fantastic significant other anyone could meet. It gets a little annoying, but people find it endearing do a certain extent. (it’s still Richard we’re talking about here lmao)

He understands astrology and a few other personalty based aspects of people, so he acknowledges all of your quirks down to a ‘T.’ He knows your communication style, love language, argument method, preferences, etc. just by a birth date and a few other factors. 

That being said, he also knows what things are particularly difficult to you, which helps when you aren’t able to communicate how you’re feeling on most occasions. (He has yet to learn how to solve his own problems with this quirk though)

Once Richard knows that you love and support him unconditionally, he becomes the sappiest, most romantic person you’ve ever met. Although he has his cliché moments, Richard is usually creative with his methods on making you happy or keeping your relationship interesting. Most of which have to do with the office where you two work *wink* *wink*

S upport - Are they helping their s/o achieve their goals? Do they believe in them?

Being a man of high ambition and deep respect, Richard would love to help you reach your goals; no matter how big they seem. Especially if you are the same way with him. 

He knows how much success and respect can mean to a person, so he will do anything to help you achieve the things you want. One aspect that he likes most about you guys’ relationship, is that you both constantly work towards bettering each other. He believes that you were both meant for great things. And if you associate great things with living off-grid and become self-sustainable, then he’ll help you achieve that.

Richard appreciates a sense of routine in his life and relationship- especially when it comes to his well-being. But this is mainly linked to his underlying trauma from childhood and career. Not that he’ll ever admit this though, he’s got a reputation to maintain.

He’s never really been given the opportunity to feel free enough to be himself and act childish. It was always, ‘act too mature and professional’ or ‘be cold, distant, and ambitious.’ When you came along though, he finally felt secure enough to open up and be himself. Which, of course, led to trying new things in your relationship. He’s down to try anything if it makes you happy; cause when you’re happy, he’s happy. 

U nderstanding - How good do they know their partner? Are they empathetic?

Deep down, Richard is not the most empathetic person. He’s had to rely on himself for almost his entire life, so being able to read and cater to another person isn’t the easiest for him. Reading social cues on the other hand, is. That being said, his love for you runs deep and he’s willing to just about anything to make you happy. He’ll take notice of the little things you like and the gestures you’ve come to appreciate, and repeats those. 

Additionally, he understands that you aren’t responsible for his healing. He knows that he is responsible for a huge majority of it, so he takes note of your empathetic nature and uses it to heal not only himself, but you as well. 

When that’s all said and done, Richard comes to learn a lot about both of you and shocks all of his associates with how close you two have become over the years.

Richard values your relationship as much as he values air. Which definitely says something. The man doesn’t care that much about anything when it comes down to it (publicly that is), but he does care for you. And his is willing to quit his job, move across the globe, or do anything you wish just so that he can make you happy for even a second.

After he met you, nothing really mattered as much as you guys’ relationship. To him, those things were put on the back burner and wait. As Charles Aznavour sang, “Me, I'll take her laughter and her tears; And make them all my souvenirs; For where she goes I've got to be. The meaning of my life is she.”

W ild Card - A random Fluff Headcanon

Richard has actually always wanted to have a child. Since he never had a father present in his life and repressed his inner child, he has always wanted to prove that he was better than his parents. That being said, he’d love to have a little girl over a son. Mainly because he knows she will bring out the softer side in him.

All in all, he just wants to nurture and care for a child that he knows will grow up to have a stunning personality and life.

At heart, Richard is a man with a deep, passionate, and affectionate nature. He loves being close to you and enjoys laying back and spending some personal time together. He loves all sorts of kisses he receives from you. Whether they be short and sweet or long and languid, he loves them all. 

When it comes to the long and languid ones though, he loves to do them while you’re cuddling together. 

Is it because he knows it’ll lead to something more? Maybe....but he’ll never admit that. 

Plus, sometimes he just like being held so he knows he’s cared for.

Y earning - How do they cope when they're missing their partner?

Let's be honest, Richard can become a bit of a prick when you're not around. Since you both work together, everyone notices the day's where you’re absent; cause his toxic energy goes through the roof. Although he isn't insufferable, he definitely reverts back to his sarcastic and aggressive method of communicating and acting. But he can't really help it; (his mars is in scorpio 🙄 jk jk lmao) he doesn't have someone around to treat him right y'know? When he's alone though, he tends to get a bit melancholic and revert to sitting around and waiting for you. It isn't his proudest moment in life, but he’s trying to get used to the fact that you might not always be there. With that in mind, he copes the best way he knows how: by occupying his mind. Which is usually by working on his cars or cycling.

Similar to his career and the things he aspires to do in life, you are something that Richard will go great lengths for. Although Richard knows when to quit, committing to a task is something that isn’t unfamiliar to him. He will work night and day to please you and keep you happy. 

Need him to take the day off to help you with a task or take care of you? Done with no hesitation. Need more emotional support because of recent events? He’ll drop everything in seconds. To him, nothing is worth ruining the relationship you two have worked so hard for.

To say that you and Greylock made an entrance at the ceremony was an understatement. You were dressed in the most radiant blue gown you could afford with your castle paycheck while Greylock had worn a finely-fit black tux under his usual cloak. Like two peas in a pod, you gracefully made your way to an empty seat in the semi-crowded ballroom.

Additionally, unlike the ‘holier-than-thou’ strut that he usually carried himself with, Greylock switched it in favor of clutching onto you and walking as if he was on cloud nine. Which he felt he was currently on.

This, of course, immediately got the attention of his would-be rival Cedric, who let out an exasperated sigh at the sight of you two together. It wasn’t as if he didn’t trust you or your judgement, but he most definitely did not trust the man latched to your side. Especially since the woman Greylock chose to get involved with was his sister.

He never fully understood why you both gravitated towards each other, but, if he made you happy, then who was he to stop your seemingly harmless relationship.

What baffled Cedric at that moment though, was how he had gotten you to agree to join him at this year's ball. You two hadn’t kept in touch that much over the last couple of years given his transfer to Magnus’ kingdom, so the fact you both were still on decent standing confused him. But he wouldn’t deny that he was relieved you were finally getting what you had been wanting for the last couple of years. Especially since he had to hear an earful of it every day you two were apart. 

--------------Earlier That Evening--------------

Wandering around the seemingly endless corridors of the Enchancia castle, Greylock was dying to find an excuse to leave or let loose at the ball him and most of his colleagues were cordially invited to. Not that he didn’t appreciate the food and view though. Enchanica had a certain type of charm that left people wanting more, and Greylock definitely desired more. More company that is.

And when he caught a glance of a stunning woman, he finally thought he had a chance of getting what he so desperately wanted.

When Greylock caught his first glance at you though, he couldn't catch the breath that escaped his lungs quick enough.

You were the most gorgeous creature he had ever laid his eyes on and, in a sense of silent fleeting hope, he dreamed that you could be the one to ease his distress at the function he was forced to attend by his dear king Magnus. Staring at you for at least five minutes straight, Greylock was shaken out of his thoughts when he realized he should probably get a move on if he wanted to avoid someone else snatching your attention. Especially since the woman was someone that he knew quite well.

Gripping the top of his pointed, purple hat, he slowly lowered it to be gripped by his left palm.

Circling the brim with both hands, be walked at an excruciatingly slow pace towards you and went to grip your hand.

".....(y/n)?..Is it really you?"

To that, you only shook your head and let out a soft and quiet laugh as you turned to fully face you.

"I’m surprised it took you so long to figure it out, Lock. You’re usually so quick to pick up details, and I was getting tired of you staring at me from so far away,” you said teasingly.

Greylock’s face was brought back to his usual face spanning smile, but the usual arrogant gleam in his eyes was replaced with a loving tint. 

“It’s so good to see you (y/n). I’ve missed you so much; I’ve tried to keep in touch- I swear! King Magnus’ rule just kept me too tied up. But nothing pleases me more than seeing your radiant face once more.”

His eyes dropped into one of pure fondness as he leaned down to finish kissing the top of your hand. Looking up, he noticed the bashful look on your face as you ducked your head and gripped his hand tighter for a few seconds longer. When the seconds finished, you reluctantly pulled your palms towards your abdomen.

"A touching compliment from one so handsome, my dear ol’ friend. Would you care to accompany me to the dining hall? I hear they're serving the finest dish tonight and I’d be delighted to share mine with you.”

When you both started making your way to the ballroom Greylock was met with the sudden realization of why he missed you so much. You had always offered him solace and a way to let loose without fear of ridicule or jealousy. It shocked him that you could be the twin sister of this sworn rival. Although you both were very much alike, you were both so starkly different. Particularly when it came to opinions on him. Regardless of that though, he appreciated everything you helped him through and yearned to start a future with you. One where you were more than friends. One where you were both lovers. That’s why following you like a lovesick puppy came so naturally to him. Even if he did it in front of a crowd of royalty and royal subjects,

Over the span of the night, you and Greylock had catched up on the time he had missed out on (as well as the time you missed out on), ate a lovely dinner together, squabbled chatted with your brother, and joked around with a few of your old friends. When both of you guys’ favorite song began to reverberate through the echoing ballroom, both of you couldn’t deny the desire to get caught up in each other's arms.

“May I have this dance my dear?,” he asked, offering you his right arm.

Repressing a face-splitting grin, you quipped back a, “Do you even have to ask?”

Pulling each other together while you rested your head on his upper chest, Greylock started to sway you both left to right in a rhythmic motion. And although you both shared each other's feelings, neither of you wanted to voice them. The fear of ruining the moment weighted too heavy over both of your heads.

In the evening, when the day is through

In a similar turn of events, you began to think back on all of the childhood memories you had shared together and how, when the stress of living up to your father began to harm your mental health, Greylock was always there to reassure and offer you comfort. This led to a string of thoughts related to the traits you favored in him. You adored the softness of his hair, the drawl of his voice, the airiness of his laugh, the way he made you laugh and entertained people, and the playfulness of his attitude. What you loved the most though, was the way he made you feel loved.

I only know what I know

The passing years will show

You've kept my love so young, so new

While finishing your stream of thoughts, Greylock pushed you back just enough to see your eyes and hesitantly opened his mouth. Shifting his eyes, he started to sweat; as though he was regretting initiating this particular conversation.

"Darling... what...would you say your plans are for the future?"

This question frightened you a tad, but the romantic atmosphere in the air had gifted you enough confidence to share a small aspect of your real feelings.

"Well.. I suppose advance in my career and...perhaps be in your life more. You've been gone so long, and I've just realized how terribly I miss you."

With a fastened heartbeat and hopefully teasing tone, Greylock quipped back saying:

"Trying to charm me are you? Well, I'd say that you've succeeded my dear."

He arched his left eyebrow and offered you a playful smirk, adding quickly:

"I knew it was just a matter of time before you fell into my dashing arms."

You swatted his arm playfully and then dragged you hand down it until it reached his elbow. Gazing tenderly up at him, you gave a shy smile and clutched his arm in an affectionate manner.

"Would that be so bad? Falling into your arms? Or perhaps,...falling in love with you?"

Those sixteen words were all Greylock needed to hear to have his heart slamming erratically in his chest and his pointed ears burn a shocking shade of red. 

He had yearned for you to admit those feelings for the longest time and could feel his childhood sense of glee rise in his throat as he knew that his feelings were being reciprocated. 

Stopping you both from dancing, he gripped both of yours arms in his palms and leaned his forehead slowly down onto yours.

"Love, I wouldn't have it any other way. After all, if this is what makes life so divine, then the key to heaven is mine. If you would accept, I'd love to have the chance to...perhaps...court you?"

And with one swift swoop upwards, you pressed your lips together and melded them in fluid motion.

"My love, I wouldn't have it any other way either."
