Ok first : disclaimer, I have read the book, ok angry Michael fan ? I have read the book, I read all of them.
You can guess where my thought is going : it definitely could work.
There's just something about Francesca being startled by Michaela but quickly stuffing those feelings down. She's a married woman and she DOES love John, in some way.
And then when she need Michaela the most, she vanished. (And maybe married to have a baby with some lord for the succession ?... To think about)
Then she comes back and Francesca starts to feel things but no she can't. It's John's cousin for heaven's sake she's betraying John again, she tried to have a child with him !!!She wants children, you need a man for children.
And it's wrong she's a woman, a lady. She always followed societal rules she does NOT like women. She is different enough, she doesn't need something else.
Then there's Michaela. She always liked Francesca, from the moment she saw her.
But it's impossible, she's John's wife, her almost brother's wife.
Francesca is a good woman she likes following the rules, she wants children, she's a perfect lady. No way she is like Michaela, attracted to girls.
And getting with her isn't just betraying John, it's betraying Francesca. She's already cast away from society, she wants children and she deserves it. John would want her happy and no way is Michaela going to make this impossible.
I've also seen people being worried because John was supposed to be Francesca's first love. But he can still be, sure she has a spark for Michaela but nothing more. John and her have a connection something deep, that's going to leave a real hole in her life.
And if anything worries about sex scene you can have consensual sex even if one isn't into it (an example that strikes me is in “The day of a fallen night” which is the most interesting, on a writing level, sex scene I've read)
And all together we whispered;
Die, die, die
So the National Park Service removed any mention of trans people from the page on the Stonewall National Monument. And removed the word 'transgender' from the page on Sylvia Rivera.
Hell no. Trans women of color built the gay rights movement. Full stop.
Check my Mastodon for a version of this at 300 DPI printable resolution! Take copies to a Stonewall protest and hand them out, if you're going to one!
Eloise was literally like that in part one
And you're going to tell me that in the laps of one or two episodes she doesn't eveb bother to listen to Cressida telling her that a 70y old man wants to marry her ? That the friendship was “falling appart" ?!?
I can't bring myself to watch the last two episodes
I never understood this mentality that people only care about an issue unless it affects them. People are so quick to put down people who are crying out for help (one example is Palestinian fundraisers). How can someone, or even a lot of people in our society, be so goddamn heartless? What makes you so special over everyone else? News flash.. you’re not. I hope one of Trumps nazi supporters one day needs help and everyone laughs at them like they did the Palestinian, Jewish, disabled, etc
Grow some humanity.
If sex is what you use as the only proof of compatibility between a pairing that you are trying to push at your audience maybe this pairing isn't worth being an endgame.
We do not see much politics in the Bridgertons but as sexism exist you cannot brush over or make racism disapear in what 40 years ? I try to be sensible about but as I am a white individual I might make mistake and apologise if so and will correct it.
At first we would still keep the same hierarchy of power than the one in real life and, I assume, in the show.
Secondly let's talk about THE thing that changes everything in the Bridgertons : the Great experiment.
The Great experiment appeared for the same reason than show in Queen Charlotte but it's a bit more subtle. It was introduced mostly so Charlotte could marry the king George but never did the royal councils intended to actually give more power to the "other side" of the society. Even if people could now get invited and participate in activity didn't mean they'd be invited or treated well.
Queen Charlotte is actually the one who shacked things up, after mostly focusing on her marriage at first she slowly woke up and saw that despise what was said her own were still being rejected and treaded unfairly. By attending Lady Danbury ball, she shoke things up. When some titles were left without any heir she would think first of giving it to the "other side" (that's how Simon's dad became Duke) etc.
Even thought the Queen Charlotte promoted tolerance things didn't completely work out that way. The "original" Ton felt jealous and left alone and while they couldn't reject the other side at the more little scandal possible they would directly reject a familly. And while young did marry racized Lord it was almost UNFATHOMABLE that an eligible white Lord would marry a girl of colour. It got a little better but there is still a lot of pression on racized people. A few Lord did actually mary girls from the "other side" the most known one being St-Clair, Abernathy and the Sterlings leaving a lot of preassure on their children because they represent this new kind of union and must be perfect. So it is a big deal that so many of the Bridgertons will have union with people of the other side as they are one of the most old and respected familly.
edit: join the subreddit for updates, i think thats where most of the planning is happening. it seems that the date may be changed to allow more time to organize and plan

The moment where I have so many animatic ideas like so so so many.
But I can't draw.
Like the ideas are right here, I know exactly what I want to happen
BUT I CAN'T DRAW FOR SHIT
Eloise should have been the villain in season 3
Listen, I'm the biggest Eloise apologist ever but I can't keep on defending her. She should have been the villain and it could have solved SO MUCH of the issues with the stories.
Eloise has been rejected by society the reality hits her hard after Penelope, rightfully, called her on her bullshit with the “not everyone can be a pretty Bridgertons” speech. And when she was at her lowest she learned that her friend is the one that betrayed her.
She was trying to make amends and to listen to her friends... And where did that get her ?
She's tired of society, she's tired of trying to fit in she just doesn't care. She's mean, she's unapologetic, she laughs when a suitor asks her to dance with him. She's gone. Because what's the point anyways ? She has already lost everything.
There's a lack of drama ? Eloise will GIVE that drama right into the household. Plus I mean a Bridgeton villain? With their capacity to get away with everything ? And it frustrates her because she's just proving Penelope right but she can't stop, she's on a rampage.
And here comes Cressida, always the mean girl, who sees in Eloise the reflection of what she is inside and she makes the first step towards her. What's more beautiful than her and Eloise both evolving out of this cycle, maturing hands in hands.
Eloise learns that people CAN change and as Penelope doesn't write about any of her wrong doing, she starts to see the light.
But she doesn't need to become directly bff with Penelope again, it's not realistic. People change and mature (which is an undertones of this season I'm kinda seeing ?). Things will never be the same again.
Also their friendship wasn't benefiting for none of them. Penelope and Eloise need to make their own space their own friends and grow.
