When you realized you were going to be a parent, did you know specifically what you wanted?

As in if you wanted a son, a daughter, nonbinary, etc. (I forgot exactly how gender works with your kind, and I can't find the post you made explaining it). Were you always planning on having a son? Or would it not have mattered if they were a girl, or someone else?

Also, did you have a different name in mind if you did have a daughter?

"What" I wanted? I've said this more times than I can count--not that it's stopped the inquiries from multiplying ad infinitum--but binary gender is an antiquated notion that my species does not share. No "girls", no "boys", only children of Arcos. Anything I am is because I choose to be it, not because it was foisted upon me at birth.

Now, if young Algid were eventually to decide he wanted to be something else, that would be his prerogative... so long as it didn't prove a distraction.

Almost freaks me out how time seems to pass. Seems like Kuriza is getting to be pretty articulate now.

Any highlights from when he was getting up to this point in his learning... or just anything absolutely out of nowhere you never expected him to say/pick up?

Yes, he knows how to cut with his words, even if he's not aware he's doing it. I seem to have avoided the "terrible threes", though; he's as fair-tempered as ever, and even when he does throw the occasional tantrum it's remarkably easy to calm him down.

I'm beginning to appreciate, too, what must be the purpose of that parent-child link: if he can't figure something out, I can lend him temporary pieces of my own understanding, as if by psionic osmosis. Again, hard to explain to someone who's never experienced telepathy. People seem to hold the misguided belief that it's like speaking over an intercom in your mind, and that's certainly something that can be done, but most of the time it's more akin to transmitting a feeling.

That's precisely why I've avoided it for so long, in fact. I don't want anyone influencing my thoughts in such a way. In the case of teaching a child, though, it has remarkable utility.

Anyway, some highlights:

-He had a cussing phase around age two and a half. I think he learned the words from visiting the barracks.

-He's started testing boundaries. If I tell him not to do something, he'll immediately set upon doing it, just to see how serious I was in my command. Sometimes he knocks things off my desk like an ornery kitten.

-Snubbin remains the main character in all of his imaginary games. He's been a chef, an accountant, a military general, a ballet dancer, a mafioso, a supermodel... impressive resume.

He very sorely wants to go to public school. That isn't possible for him, but I've enrolled him in some extracurriculars so he can spend time with other children his age. He seems to be having trouble fitting in... not a surprise, all things considered, but a pity. We'll see...

I’m being fr though about the Namekian, I heard he knocked out a guy as strong as Goku’s SSJB form in one punch and then proceeded to wrangle a fuckass Cell-like creature that was pretty much as strong as Broly. If it wasn’t for a certain half-saiyan he’d be the strongest being in Universe 7 and I’m not even kidding.

The kicker is that this all happened after his potential was unlocked a la how Guru could, and as we know Guru’s technique didn’t exactly bring out every bit of strength a fighter has to offer, meaning Piccolo most likely has a long way to go before he reaches his peak.

In other words, if you don’t figure out a way to bring him down now before his power reaches Beerus levels in like, 5 years (if that), you’re fucked! Good luck sleeping at night! 😬👍

((OOC, tbh Goji this is just me being Incredibly Autistic /pos about the fact Piccolo’s incredible strength doesn’t get talked about nearly enough. He’s got more potential than Vegeta does right now and it is just discussed seriously in canon! 🙃))

Oh, I don't doubt that he's stronger than Goku right now. What I mean is that Goku is very literally favored by the gods, and so he is likely to pull some nonsense or other out of his pert little hindquarters before the year's end.

Remember, I was his superior by orders of magnitude on Namek, and he reversed our positions in seconds when he decided out of nowhere to fulfill a thousand-year prophecy. I'm becoming convinced he's some sort of universal constant.

I tried to base them off of his plush bunny (mostly with the button eyes and all), I hope he likes them! Or that Yamcha likes the plushies if he finds them.

His having an egg tooth at all is genetic happenstance; they became obsolete quite a long time ago.

In most cases the eggshell dissolves just before birth. And, yes, before you ask, I could feel it once it did. I’d thought I was having some horrid cramp or stitch, and then he comes out with a thumbtack on his head! It was too late to be irate, so all there was to do was laugh.

It suits him, though, doesn’t it? Distinctive, if a little silly. No one will ever confuse the two of us, that’s for sure.

Yamcha says the Earth-bound slug man can turn orange now, apparently. I can't say I'm impressed.

It’s satisfying to see you care for your son, regardless of how weak he is compared to you, instead of tossing him to the side. It’s sweet to see how much he loves you.

I didn’t mention it before, but the idea that people have begun to call my entire species the “Frieza race” is equal parts hilarious and vindicating.

I’ve spoken briefly on the topic… we started off quite close. Neither of us had the opportunity to socialize with children our own age—after all, it would be hard to call them peers—so we spent what little free time we had with each other.

As we grew, that time became scarce. Until then, however, you might have called us friends.
