wicked post-canon told in the style of the original frank l baum books where dorothy and ozma visit their favorite lesbian wine aunt glinda the good in her palace with a hundred women at her beck and call and she's currently crashing out over elphie
so dorothy and ozma are like "we should try to cheer her up" and go on journey throughout oz looking for something to make her feel better until they eventually stumble across elphaba who's like "you again? go away" and then they have to drag her back to glinda's palace
no cause like- i had this headcanon buried in one of my gelphie asks:
when she was a kid, glinda's biggest fear was that she wouldn't be remembered. the last thing elphie does before leaving oz is cast a spell to make herself forget
BUT
imagine if, instead, it was glinda who forgot. glinda whose mind had been wiped by magic. glinda whose only knowledge of the wicked witch was of the stories told by morrible and the wizard. the propaganda. the lies.
imagine glinda, a true servant of the wizard who believes she is doing the right thing by helping hunt down the wicked witch. a glinda shaped and twisted and warped by morrible. a glinda who wouldn't hesitate to make the witch fall.
that glinda. facing off against an aching, bruise-hearted elphie who still dreams of shiz every night and wakes every morning wishing she had glinda in her arms. an elphie who misses glinda more than anything. an elphie who cannot, will not, fight her.
"you're my friend," elphaba says firmly. urgently. desperately. "my best friend."
the girl across from her just scowls, her pretty features twisted with hate. "and you're nothing more than a wicked witch."
the wicked movie teaches important moral lessons like "be bisexual in college" and "don't trust politicians" and "if you push someone who's in a wheelchair without their permission, someone might throw a bench at your head with their mind"
Elphaba being an idealist while Glinda is a realist always gets to me. Like you would expect the girl who’s been ostracized all her life for being green to be cynical and think that the world can’t change. But no, Elphie is all starry eyed and hopeful that she can change the world. That she can fix its wrongs and create a better future, not just for her but for every citizen of Oz.
Meanwhile Glinda, the girl who’s had everything, admiration, money, etc, knows how the world is. She knows that the world is led by those who are popular despite their talent or lack thereof. She knows how to play the game, knows the rules of the game, and knows that not playing by those rules will make you an outsider. She’s already resigned to the world as it is.
it should be against the law for streaming services to use shows they canceled to advertise. stop parading her dead body around you bitch you literally killed her
Wicked is a story about everyone being doomed because two gay people thought they were straight.
gelphie ponies but i couldn’t decide between pegasus or unicorn glinda so i did both hehe
AAAAAAAAHHHHH
New chapter icons for Emeralds & Swans! I’ll be adding these to the top of each chapter to signify which country in Oz the characters are currently in, as well as a little brown icon to show if they are traveling :)
These are mainly just for my own enjoyment, and to add a little fun thing to Ao3’s kinda boring interface. I got bored, I dunno ☺️
Horrendous violence on my cellular device every day since the movie dropped.
summary of act 1
The internet: “Glinda should’ve gotten on the broom!”
Ariana Grande: “First of all, I would’ve died, immediately. I would’ve fallen off the broom. I would’ve been off the broom, dead, instantly.”
