i agree with this 100%. my housewife hannibal sequel was scraped by that damn AI scraper / whatever the fuck you call it. i am so sad because i worked so hard on the newest chapter. i poured 3 months of dedication and love and joy into that new chapter, and to have it (and some of my other fics) be used for AI training (some soul-less machine) is not a good feeling at all. i'm sorry to all my lovely guest readers, but i will be locking all my fics so only registered users can access them, because fuck AI.

After the recent scrape of Ao3 I feel like now is a good time to say a few things

Authors: Limit your works to registered users only, you are going to see a drop in activity which is going to suck a lot but it's 10x better than having your work stolen and used to train AI. Please take care of your precious work

Readers: If you aren't registered, it's to get registered. You've probably been lurking on ao3 for at least a little while, and if you want to be able to properly interact with your favourite works then the best thing to do is get registered. This way authors can feel supported and you can still interact with your favourite works. It's important the authors and readers help each other out here

Expanding on my last post to add a few more things about Mizumono and Digestivo:

Imagine young, mute Hannibal in the orphanage watching as other children get adopted—but no adults ever approach him or seem to want to get to know him because the other kids (and staff) are wary of him and warn the prospective adopters that he’s difficult—that sometimes he has violent outbursts, wets the bed, has night terrors, and can’t speak. His first experience of rejection.

Only, this present rejection from Will in Mizumono feels ten times more agonizing because he’s overcome those past struggles and society finally views him as normal and an acceptable, highly-respected presence. But even after overcoming all that—it isn’t enough—because Will doesn’t want him or the life he planned for them to have. A life he never imagined he would be able to have.

That’s why each of Will’s future rejections cut so deep. Hannibal turns himself in because he couldn’t handle the thought of Will losing him—of Will not knowing where he would be. Because he’s been lost before—stumbling through the snow, cold and starving—after losing everything that mattered to him. He’s known what it’s like to have no one care about his whereabouts—and nothing would sting more than having to live with the knowledge that Will didn’t give a rat’s ass about where he ended up. His reputation and freedom mean nothing in comparison to his need for Will. He kneels in the snow just as he had decades prior—waiting for a savior to come and find him—because it’s the only thing he knows to do.

For three years he waits in the BSHCI for Will, his savior, to hopefully come and find him.

Post-Fall Will enabling mentally 18 year-old Hannibal's first kill and praising him for it and cooking a spleen for him would heal something inside him. Y'all know Hannibal's little heart would be bursting with glee and surprise and nervousness at being so deeply seen and understood. He wouldn't think about being rejected by Lady Murasaki ever again. Not when this beautiful man as crazy as him came into his life.

me, trying to write a carefree pwp for the first time ever, but then the beginning somehow becomes 1k words where Hannibal and Will live in a secluded cottage in Ireland and have a little farm with chickens post-fall because of an apocalypse (though it's really Will being manipulative and lying to keep Hannibal from venturing off and possibly being seen) and Hannibal's amnesiac mind trusts everything Will says because mentally Hannibal is 18 years-old and developing a crush on the first person who understands him and accepts him after being freshly rejected by Lady Murasaki) and they haven't even kissed yet: damn the plot has in fact plotted again 😔

i know this is on my vulnerable Hannibal fic rec list already, but i cannot recommend it enough because it is so beautiful and the last two chapters are finally up! everyone and their momma, go read i have loved you in a tame way & i have loved you wild by @cervviidae (and leave a comment for the author if you can, they deserve so much love) because it is such a beautiful Hannigram AU!! i rarely read AUs myself, but this has quickly become one of my favorite fics of all time <3 i'm about to read the last two chapters and i'm so excited to see how it ends <3

Prompt- Hannibal unwillingly regressing during season 2b. Will is still angry at Hannibal for killing Beverly and Abigail, and thinks Hannibal is some emotionless being. Cue Will’s shock when something triggers Hannibal and Will has to watch over him. (I don’t know if this is anything but you just don’t see any Hannibal agere fics set in s2)
