Omg yes! They have such an adorable dynamic that balances each other out. It honestly is such a nice detail Dc added by showing just how close Wally and Dick are.
Especially because in the comics as kids Wally and Dick were always very close. Especially when on the same team like the Teen Titans.
And in the new Teen Titans: World Finest Mark Waid does a good example of showing this when Dick sends in Roy, Garth, and Donna on a mission where a Meta is having a breakdown and causing a mass hallucination of how she feels.
Dick sends in Roy to deal with the meta human despite knowing he only has arrows and the meta humans power messes with you on a phycological level. He does this so that Wally can go with him, which, lets be honest, wasn't a very smart move.
As expected Roy ends up taking the hard blunt of things because, lets be honest, Dick should've sent in Wally. I mean Roy literally only has arrows.
And I'm not saying Roy can't handle himself he obviously can. But strategic wise it would have been smarter to send Wally in whose a meta himself.
Dick didn't do that for the simple fact he just wanted Wally near him. He also didn't want Roy around him as much because they got some tension going on but thats beside the point.
The point is, Dick doesn't just do this in this comic run but also would do it all the time in past comics as well. He would choose Wally to go with him places even when it would be smarter to send him with other memebers of the group/team simply because he just wanted to be with Wally.
Rewatching the first few episodes of Young Justice, and this is kinda birdflash kinda not (you can absolutely take it as them just being besties), but Wally grabbing Robin’s utility belt when Dick uses it in CADMUS, so Wally doesn’t get left behind is SO cute to me. Dick is just minding his business, being one half of the dynamic duo who doesn’t play well on teams, but then there’s Wally who is so clearly repeatedly saying “if you’re going, I’m going” by sticking close to Robin. Dick isn’t thinking about the others, but Wally is SO prepared for Robin’s next movements, and it speaks to such an amazing friendship and partnership in the field😭I miss them so much - they were never the same again after the 5 year time skip what HAPPENED to THIS version of them goddammit
Sometimes home is another person
From Nightwing #90, where Wally is assisting Dick in taking down an unexpected villain!
Though Wally had to sait a whole issue for payback, and it's not like Dick doesn't have issues of his own about KGBeast
“There are three things all wise men fear: the sea in storm, a night with no moon, and the anger of a gentle man.”
Patrick Rothfuss - "The Wise Man's Fear"
I'll bet that Wally was straight on the Titan's WhatsApp claiming the kudos for THIS one, and come the next Titans meeting, he got high fives all round and got the first choice of pizza toppings)
You can't tell me he wouldn't make an excellent father
I LOVE IT WHEN FRIENDS ARE LIKE, "Would you stay on the sidelines in my place? No? Well, then I'm going, and Dick can just deal with it." Dick Grayson's disapproval is pretty powerful, but also they were with him when he was still in shortpants, they're not scared of his disapproval. Which makes me laugh SO HARD because Dick really did turn into his dad, he works so hard to be Disapproving Of Other People's Shenanigans While Engaging In Even More Reckless Shenanigans and the Titans, much like every single one of Bruce's kids, are NOT buying it, fuck off, Dick, GOD CAN'T STOP ME AND NEITHER CAN YOU. (Dick sighs in resignation and thinks how he will never complain to Bruce about this, because he's 99% sure Bruce wouldn't laugh in his face, he doesn't really do that, but that 1% would just break Dick if it DID happen.)
Tim and Damian didn’t behave during patrol so Dick decided to implement a creative punishment, they’re not impressed.
Starfire and Nightwing doodle 💕✨💙
I kinda was in the mood to draw her again after the previous picture^^
I feel like Joan and Jay's relationship isn't focused on enough so I can't tell you how happy this makes me to see it being acknowledged
I love you, Jay Garrick, even though you're a horrible liar.
Jay & Joan then and now in Jay Garrick: The Flash (2023) #1
(Jeremy Adams, Diego Olortegui)
Look at Wally pouting and being annoyed in the corner
I read comics and rant about them -speedster and batfam Central- because all my friends just can't seem to understand the absolute power they hold over me.
