Reblog to give the person you reblogged this from motivation to work on their WIPs.
recently learned about the concept of a commonplace book and I am obsessed with it. a notebook where I keep all of the information I've gathered that I want to remember? when my shitty little brain can't remember what I read 5 minutes ago? perfect. yes. good.
“writing fanfics is something I do in my free time for fun. I will not treat it like a job and will instead treat it like a hobby because that’s what it is.”
also how it feels being a fanfic writer:
this summer i will learn italian and french and russian and run a marathon everyday and work for three months and get fifty new ear piercings and read every work of high literature ever created and watch every movie. but most importantly just chill and relax
How fucking annoying is it when you feel so restless with creative energy but you can’t decide what to do with it and when you finally try to create something it comes out shit so you just give up and sit there being all creatively annoyed and jittery.
me writing the worst paragraph of my life knowing that a sexier, more hydrated version of me will fix it later
fuck it. be creative even if you never really *make* anything. write out plot synopses of stories and then move on. design OCs you'll never use. make mood boards and concept art and don't do anything with them. life's too short to forget everything that inspired you and creation doesn't have to be "complete" to be worth the time you put into it.
“you‘re so quiet” baby i’m not even here. i’m fantasizing about a book i read weeks ago. move on.
Every word written is a victory. No matter how shitty. No matter how painful to write. No matter if you immediately deleted them, or if you know you will delete them later.
If you wrote - if you tried - I'm proud of you.
‘bread is bad for you’ ‘rice is bad for you’ sorry im not subscribing to the idea that staple grains that have been integral to cultures for centuries are evil. i love you carbs
i hate how you get desensitized to the cool stuff in your WIP if you've been writing it for a long time so when you read back over it you're like "this isn't as cool as i thought :(" but it still is! you just read it too many times
