I also hate this theory sooo damn much. Gwyn's grandaddy likely just a sentry or noble that lives in the Forest House and is nobody special, and her daddy is some rando who went to Sangravah to get laid and is also a nobody.

I'll be surprised if SJM even gives a name or background to either of them. But I don't think they're important to Gwyn's story and growth and they will remain nameless, just like Papa Acheron.

OH I am finally, FINALLY given the chance to be a hater on main THANK YOU my god I wholeheartedly hate this theory. I think it's ridiculous and given SJM's track record, she most likely threw in that Autumn Court heritage line and immediately proceeded to forget about it. In the classic SJM fashion, we now have a shitty throwaway scrap which booktok has turned into Eris VanGrandfather, Lucien VanFather/Cousin/Brother, Beron Van[insert your favorite family relation here], effectively leaving us with the VanSweetHomeAlabama verse. Not enough of my favorite artists are on Bluesky yet and I won't touch Twitter or Instagram with a ten foot pole. Pinterest got destroyed by the onslaught of AI slop, so that's left Tumblr, which still seems fairly decent.
