Highlights of C.C. Signing

Cassandra Clare’s first novel was The Beautiful Cassandra, based on Jane Austin’s novel of the same name when she was a child. She didn’t know how to write romances, so she just killed the love interest with a falling boulder.

Simon is loosely based off both her best friend and boyfriend from highschool as they were both “brown-haired, slightly neurotic Jews who played Dungeons and Dragons”

Cassandra Clare used to have a wall that she put her notes on but it started to look like a crazy person’s wall, like Emma’s Wall of Crazy, so she took it down.

Will’s hatred of ducks comes from Cassie’s own experience where she and her friend accidentally fed duck pie to mallards in Hyde Park and upon realizing it, stopped, only for the ducks who had “aquired a taste for flesh” to chase them all around the park.

She isn’t sure if Kit hates ducks other not as he hasn’t seen any in the books yet.

She doesn’t know what the password for the LA Shadow Market is, she just knew she wanted Kit to flip them off.

Upon being asked why all warlocks seem to have tragic last names (i.e. Fell, Bane, Loss, etc) she said she didn’t notice they were tragic, she thought they sounded badass but now she’s sad and said she’ll have to name one Barnabas Sunshine.

Simon’s fate was PURPOSELY left out of Thule and it is important.

Her adult novels were picked up for a TV show/movie and she’s much more involved than she was for any TMI productions. (She was EXTREMELY professional in answering this question.)

She tends to start off with a scene in her head rather than a character and then goes from there.

When asked about fight scenes, she quoted; “Fight scenes are like love scenes, you always need to know where their hands are”

She used to make her friends help her choreograph her fight scenes because it was so hard. She says the hardest part for her is adding pockets of dialogue or “presence” of characters amid a fight scene.

She was SO nice, you guys! She was extremely personable and fan-oriented so no one felt rushed when meeting her. I’m still so thrilled. I won an advanced copy of Red Scrolls of Magic in a trivia game. (The question was which shirt was Simon wearing in City of Ash when he meets Clary outside the comic book store. I have read these books too many times, guys, because I also knew the dialogue surrounding the shirt lol)

Title: Good One’s Gonna Be Author: Remmyme Artist: Disterra Rating: Explicit Pairings: Dean/Cas Warnings:

Title: Good One’s Gonna Be Author: remmyme Artist: disterra Rating: Explicit Pairings: Dean/Cas Warnings: Professor Castiel, Hunter Dean, time zones what are time zones?, i hope you like italics, texting and phone conversations, developing relationship, phone sex, dorks in love, first meetings, Dean’s a sad sack as frickin always (but maybe Cas can help with that) Posting Date: 10/5/2017

Summary:  Castiel Novak receives a rather alarming text message from an unknown number, and what started as a simple misdial quickly turns into the greatest friendship Castiel has ever known. But Dean has many secrets, dangerous truths about the life he lives, and would like to tell Castiel exactly none of them. As the months pass and Dean’s time grows short, will he be able to keep his relationship with Castiel while also keeping him safe?

A (slightly) AU, (mostly) text-fic, S3 fix-it romance (of sorts).

- - -

“Dude!” Sam slams into the bathroom like there’s a wendigo on his ass, and Dean – who had only just managed to coax yet another temperamental no-tell motel shower to the perfect temperature and relax into the spray – has a very interesting and confused few seconds in which he instinctively, simultaneously tries to shield his junk, duck for cover, and dive for the nearest weapon.

Dean blinks hard, squinting against the water at the bottle of Garnier Fructis he finds himself wielding, textbook-perfect pinch grip and crouched low behind the shower curtain.

“What,” he says, loud over the hiss of the shower and the pounding in his chest, “the fuck.”

“Dude,” Sam repeats, voice alarmingly close on the other side of the curtain – and, seriously, what the fuck, Sam is breaking so many Winchester Rules of Motel Cohabitation right now – “are you weird pen pal text-buddies with Dr. Castiel James Novak?”

“`

06:33 PM  04/21/07 I think you broke my brother.

06:33 PM  04/21/07 Also, you’re talking to my brother??

06:34 PM  04/21/07 I am, yes. He seems to be familiar with my work.

06:34 PM  04/21/07 Uh, yeah, I heard. Sam is flipping his shit!

06:35 PM  04/21/07 You’re the God of gods, apparently?

06:36 PM  04/21/07 Don’t be ridiculous, Dean. A few publications and professional consultations hardly makes me the leading expert.

06:37 PM  04/21/07 That’s not what Sammy says!

06:39 PM  04/21/07 I must admit, I was surprised when he knew me by name from my academic credentials alone.

06:40 PM  04/21/07 You said he studied pre-law, correct? Is religion and mythology a personal interest of his?

06:41 PM  04/21/07 Kid’s a genius. Everything’s a personal interest, the nerd.

”`

06:42 PM  04/21/07 Dr. Novak, it’s such an honor.

06:43 PM  04/21/07 Sam, please, there’s no need for such formalities.

“`

06:43 PM  04/21/07 Fuck, is he still texting you?

”`

06:44 PM  04/21/07 Your research on the history of belief in the energy of the human soul is amazing.

“`

06:45 PM  04/21/07 Oh, Jesus. He just pulled out a frickin’ book.

”`

06:46 PM  04/21/07 So many culturally different and chronologically discrete belief systems, but the ritualistic parallelisms are insane! And all the lore backs you up, man. Magic, monsters, spirits, sacrifices; that power has to come from somewhere, right?

“`

06:46 PM  04/21/07 Dude, you wrote a BOOK?

”`

06:47 PM  04/21/07 If you don’t mind, can I get your opinion on a couple of things?

“`

06:48 PM  04/21/07 If he’s bugging you, Cas, just say the word.

”`

06:50 PM  04/21/07 Ugh, hold on a sec, Dean’s being an asshole.

“`

06:56 PM  04/21/07

Seriously, what the HELL is happening here?!

Why Japanese is EASY

A lot of people want to study Japanese but think it’s too hard and that they will never succeed. That is really a myth, though. Here is why Japanese is actually easy.

1. All verbs are regular, there are only 2 exceptions

If you know French, this must sound like a dream to you. In other languages [like French] there seem to be more irregular verbs than regular ones. Not in Japanese, though. There are 3 groups of verbs, the first 2 being regular and very easy to conjugate. The third group consists of only 2 irregular verbs!

2. Easy pronunciation

Japanese doesn’t have any exceptionally hard to pronounce letters. Unlike Arabic, German or Finnish, Japanese should be quite easy to pronounce for English speakers. Also, Japanese isn’t a tonal language like Thai or Chinese.

3. No genders, plural or articles

Anyone who studies a romance language [and many other languages that have that] knows how frustrating it can be when you use the wrong article or verb ending. In Japanese, it doesn’t even exist, so nothing to worry!

4. Grammar is easy!

That’s true. It’s just completely different from English, but that doesn’t make it hard. After a while, it will feel completely normal. The best part about the grammar is that you can build a whole sentence with just one word. For example, if you wanted to ask somebody in English if they did their homework, you’d say ‘did you do your homework?’ Kind of long, isn’t it? In Japanese, you can ask by using only the verb ‘to do, can, be able to’ - like this: ‘done?’ Also, spoken, you can drop many words if you don’t really need them, especially particles! So if you’re not sure what particle to use, chances are you can just easily leave it altogether without the sentence losing its meaning. It’s easy to build sentences that seem to end in ‘…’, but that’s completely normal in Japanese and everyone will understand.

5. Tons of resources

Sadly, there are some languages people don’t really care about or not a lot of people want to study/ are interested in. Japanese is not one of those languages. There are hundreds of books about Kanji alone! And so many courses for every level. Also, it doesn’t matter what you’re interested in - anime, manga, books, movies, game show, video games, dramas, music - it’s all out there and super easy to find, so you definitely will find something you can listen to or read to practice your skills.

6. Kanji/the writing systems are hard?

No. They aren’t. It’s just a huge workload, it takes time and effort, but they are not hard.

At first, having to learn 3 writing systems will seem exhausting. But believe me, later, when you start reading, you will be so glad! You can detect if a text has a lot of foreign words at one glance if it has a lot of Katakana, for example, and you could say a lot more on twitter because of the syllabaries!

So actually, the 3 systems put together makes everything easier to read!

So please, just start studying and go at your own pace, and have fun studying every day ⭐︎
