Age and experience Are savage beasts Devouring hope & innocence Through life’s bloodied feast

#https://mantelsroman.wordpress.com/2018/06/13/skygge-lys/ Danish. English version: This is just some trees. Looks like olive trees. And grass, a bit other dried out bushes, and a hillside. That's all. But not that's all like in "nothing else"? That is all like in ALL. Everything. I can't proof it, ofcourse. It's just my opinion. I sure don't expect others to understand. Actually, it's a selfie. I'm there, in one of the shadows. Sitting under one of those trees. You might not be able to see me. That's nothing new. But I'm right there. Don't wanna be anywhere else. That's all. And that IS really all. Not enough for you? Guess not. I couldn't care less. Selfish? Very! But about time. And I think, my opinion only, that you don't care either. Not really. Then it gets almost funny: Ok, you might be indifferent. Well, how much do you think I care about that? A competition of not caring. Take a look at my selfie: I'm gone ages ago. About time. Careless, carefree, only me and nothing else. But everything. THAT'S ALL! #https://mantelsroman.wordpress.com/2018/06/13/skygge-lys/ #selfie #altoalentejo #castelodevide #olivetrees #careless #selfish #myworld #mantelmomento #danielmantel #udenfilter #gone #nowisthetime #dontevencareenoughtomakeanymorehashtagsbutiamtherenomatterwhereelseimightbeseenandamashappyascanbe (her: Alto Alentejo (intermunicipal community))
People will stab you, and then get offended, saying you have no right to bleed.

So very true...

In the 21st century, they began building pyramids again. It was a decision not really taken by any authority, but it was commonly very popular. It's hard to say if it was caused by lack of believable Gods; many had been worshipped with a huge amount of followers for hundreds if not thousands of years. So maybe it was a response, or rather result, of the increasing single high-rises. Usually placed where they would do most harm. In the sense of being extremely ugly, and at the same time standing so you couldn't get free of the sight. It was a new and very effective form of prisons. You had to either stay inside with curtains drawn, or simply walk around with your eyes closed very hard. To avoid being caught in that devastating ugliness. Maybe that was why. If there had to be those sky-scratching buildings, then why not give them a purpose? Put something inside. So it happened. New pyramids. Filled with whatever you wanted. Your dreams, your destiny, your future… Your freedom. At night they were lit with hope. From and for every single soul. Most about escaping the new high-rise prisons. To live with open eyes. It actually made sense… #mantelmomento #danielmantel #laurieandthestoryof (Always...) #primeiroproximopasso (Also...) #udenfilter #pyramids #modernage #belief #buildings #gellerup #highrise #hope #fiction #reality #prose #whythefuckmysmalltownisbeingdestroyedbycommercialhighrisebuildingsisimplycantunderstand (Usual one-off hashtag) (her: Aarhus, Denmark)
And that IS all of us! 👍
Shoutout to the bookish people who;
Can’t afford special editions.
Don’t have fancy bookshelves with Christmas lights around them.
Are male, older, or poc.
Can’t afford a monthly box, like YA or Owlcrate.
Don’t even have a room full of books, or shelves worth, maybe you just have a handful stacked somewhere.
Prefer eReaders.
Might only have worn down, or mass market paperbacks, because they’re cheapest.
Because regardless, we all love the same thing. We’re all here for the same thing. Stories.
It's a combination; quite difficult to make work: I certainly prefer those writers, that are able to describe a person with personality and as much 'details' as possible; even 'complications'... Written in 2, 3, 5 lines... A few master that skill, a (maybe) surprising example: Georges Simenon, most known for the many "Maigret"-crime stories... But try reading some of his 'real' / psychological novels... Masterly "painting" difficult figures with few words. Also, almost ofcourse, and also one of my overall favorite writers: Jess Walter. Especially in the masterpiece 'Beautiful Ruins'. He can do the same, with adding changes of the figures as the story developes. Masterly! There's several others, obviously, but these two... :-) And I should add, that I'm a writer, but thru the years have read quite a lot. :-) (Can't tag Jess Walter...?!?)
I have a question for you guys.
When reading a book, do you prefer detailed descriptions of characters or brief, vague descriptions? Reblog and put in the tags which you prefer, and whether you’re a reader, artist, writer, or whatever else.
Thanks!
