another Merlin drawing
according to IbisPaint, this took me about 7 hours. i did it all on my phone, though i didnt sketch as much as I'd normally do, and instead used the reference as a guide. i exaggerated their proportions, simplified the armor, and created the colors and rendering entirely on my own to give my desired effect, not really following the lighting in the original picture

again, ethically sourced from tumblr
(i apologize for any formatting issues, im on mobile)
this took a few weeks of drawing on and off to finally finish, since the paper is i believe about 3 x 2 feet
i used a mechanical pencil for the sketch, which might have been the most time consuming part. in the sketch i messed up the perspective and proportion while trying to make it more dynamic, which i had to fix when i did the lineart (with tombow ink pens).
i did the shading in only a couple hours using greyscale alcohol markers. i didn't use the reference image for the shadows, because i wanted to be particular about the lighting
the final piece is still a slightly different angle than the original photo (of the Canterbury Cathedral, found on Britannica), and while it was on purpose, i still need more practice with the execution
the fight is still on! donβt give up!
a quick 40 minute drawing of my friend and i that i did after we had a very long week (ibispaint x on my phone)
i'm one week into making a fully customizable picrew with 6 skin tones (each piece has a separate toggle, so not every part has to be the same color) and 3 body types, as well as various facial features. i still have the mouths, eyebrows, hair, clothes, jewelry, and other accessories to go, but i'm hoping to make something for everyone
please keep in mind that i'm white - PLEASE let me know if there is anything you think i should adjust with the current features or anything i should add to future features! i'm doing my best but it isn't perfect, so i'll correct any mistakes i make immediately
this might take a while but will be free to use when it's finally up. i'll try to post updates every now and then, so comment or add a tag if you have any tips or requests!
(though i'd rather not do outfits or accessories based on real characters that belong to somebody else or somebody's franchise)
this is. shockingly relevant to today's drawfee video

and most importantly, stay safe out there and keep on surviving. we're in this together, no matter how much they try to pit us against each other.
Okay, so I try hard to cover global queer history, and this isn't marking a stop to that, but I am aware that most of my audience is American, and I want to address them very directly right now.
Google Removed Pride Month From Its Calendar App, and Stonewall National Monument's "LGBTQ" status was changed to "LGB" on the government website. This is the beginning of the erasure of queer history, not the end. I don't know what the future of the United States looks like, as someone who studies queer history and has done so for many years, I want to share some tools with you.
Now is a good time to prioritize local queer history, Making Gay History is a great project, so is the Digital Transgender Archive, but also check your city and see what resources there are.
Read and buy books about queer history. I have an affiliate list with some of the books I personally recommend.
If you use Google Calendar, repopulate that resource with so much queer history with a free queer history calendar plug-in, it has names from queer history that you can also learn more about for free when they come up. As the author of these articles, feel free to save them, print them off, whatever makes them freely accessible as suppression get's worse.
Use your local library. Email the board about book bans, request banned books, request queer books, and make your voice heard.
Make queer art. Share queer art. Protect queer art. Here is some public-domain queer art to use as you wish.
Keep up with queer news, THEM and Pink News are both great resources.
All of these tools are currently freely accessible with an internet connection. Queer history is a community responsibility, do your part.
