In the game proper, the jukebox is an individual thing, but you know -you KNOW- in the fiction of the game's world, there are no fewer than 10 squid kids lined up at any one time all punching in 21 plays of Bang Bang Bing with one play of, I dunno, Bomb Rush Blush in the middle of it because they all think it's funny.
keep the legacy editor around for the love of god
Hello, Tumblr.
If you joined us before November 2022 and predominantly post on web, you will be familiar with the two post editors—the legacy editor and the “new” web editor (formerly known as the “Beta editor”).
Beginning May 15, we’ll gradually be working to remove the legacy editor as an option for creating new posts. New posts created on web will be created in the new web editor. We hope to complete this change by July 15.
This change only affects accounts created before November 2022. Newer accounts already default to the new web editor.
This will not affect posting on the apps because we switched to this new editor on the apps about four years ago. If you use the apps, you’ve been using the new editor all this time!
This will not affect what you can include in a post, only how you get there: You can still include all the different types of media in a post, only now, you’ll do that via the new web editor’s content blocks instead of selecting a post type from the post type bar at the top of your dash. So, if you’re halfway through a text post, and you decide that what this post really needs is your pet reptile, then click on the little red image icon in the post editor, select an image, and voilà. Lizard boy steals our hearts.
If you still prefer to post on web using the legacy editor, please keep reading because the rest of this post is for you.
How can you prepare for this change?
Once we have completed this update, you won’t be able to create posts using the legacy editor. You will be able to edit posts made using the legacy editor, at least for now.
Start using the new web editor ahead of the switch. This will help you help us troubleshoot any issues you might encounter. It’ll also mean you’ll already know the ropes before the switch is final.
Talk to us. Send us feedback. Especially if you’re switching from legacy to the new web editor. We want to hear about your experience: Are there any specific workflows or features in legacy that you want to see in the new editor?
If you use a theme, make sure to check whether it supports posts made using the new web editor, and update it if that’s not the case.
For those of you trimming reblogs: @rpschtuff has created an incredibly detailed master post that gets into the nitty gritty of that practice in the new web editor.
XKitters: XKit Rewritten was explicitly designed with the new web experience in mind. This means that you will need to use XKit Rewritten when creating posts in the new web editor.
That’s all for now. Remember, you can always get in touch with us. If it’s regarding the new web editor, then Support is the place for you. If it’s about something else, @wip is your guy.
I should be studying for my philosophy test, but instead I saw a new picrew and ended up with a new OC. She’s not for any specific fandom, just a general character.
Idea is that she’s a daughter of Apollo, very fun and energetic person. She’ll get into some kind of shenanigans, unsure of the details. If I can’t think of any actual divine abilities she inherited from Apollo she’ll just be really good at dodgeball.
Name’s undecided, main ideas are Laura (from the laurel tree associated with Apollo), Phoebe (Apollo’s Phoebus epithet), Soleil/Solana (Apollo’s Sol epithet), or Delia (Apollo being born on Delos and Delphi being a major place of worship for him). Her dog also doesn’t have a name yet but that’s less important. If anyone has thoughts on the suggested names or new ideas go on ahead and share them.

Fun Fact: If I’m seen wearing something other than a plain blue short sleeved shirt, that’s an imposter. Can’t even remember the last time I wore something other than that of my own free will.
@dysphoria-things said open tag so i'm hopping on, but the original chain was really long so i'm starting my own :P (id in alt)

Okay so I’m willing to bet that we’ll see Riku as a Nopon Archsage in a future Xenoblade game. In the base game of Xenoblade 3 it’s clear that something’s up with Riku, and in the Future Redeemed trailer + some tweets by the Xenoblade JP twitter account Riku is just there even though the DLC happens a millennium before the main game. Nopon aren’t part of the cycle so it can’t be a previous incarnation of him. A regular Nopon seems to be able to live into their 200′s, but that’s not enough time for Riku to be present in both stories. He hasn’t even aged inbetween them either. Only a Nopon Archsage would be able to live that long, the ones we’ve seen generally have an age of 9,999 years. Imagine playing Xenoblade 6 or whatever in the future, the Challenge Mode DLC drops, and the Nopon Archsage running it is Riku.
Akkala indeed. Also full region ranking for fun.
Akkala, I love the fall look. Tarrey Town is also the best town.
Necluda, it has Kakariko and Hateno.
Hebra, winter is my favorite season and the Rito are cool. Just wish all the constant snow didn't make things hard to see.
Faron, mainly because of Lurelin and Eventide. Wish the ocean had a bit more to it. Also I don't normally notice performance issues in games, but things always seem to slow down a bit when I'm in the jungle area, even if I'm just walking around doing nothing.
Lanayru, I like the Zora but it feels like something's missing here. Don't want underwater exploration, I'd be too scared to handle that.
Central Hyrule, couldn't do anything there in BotW since it was Guardian Central. They're gone in TotK so I can finally explore all the ruins.
Eldin, the heat around Death Mountain is annoying but I like the Gorons and it's not as big of a problem in TotK. Also the Lost Woods are here, but I haven't been there in TotK yet because I can see that something's up.
Gerudo, I like the town and bazaar, but I don't like how both games start off by having sandstorms that make it hard to see and get rid of your map. I haven't even seen much of it in TotK because of it. The Highlands also just exist.
Sky Islands, I expected more from them based on the trailers and starting area, but there's not much up there.
The Depths, actual nightmare land. I'm afraid of the dark, can barely get myself to go down there. And of course it's where most of the cool amiibo stuff from BotW is. It's scary and full of demons from what I've seen I do not like it.
Personally I’m a big fan of ten gerudo desert but I do like necluda, faron, and the sky islands
I think that more fanfiction should be written with the aim to tackle the original meaning of hanahaki. Because when the concept of hanahaki disease was originally created, it was intended to be a metaphor for suppressing one’s feelings.
Your feelings are this beautiful garden of flora inside of your chest. When you express how you feel honestly, you allow for it to grow freely. But when you hide how you feel out of fear of rejection, and try to make it smaller and smaller, the flowers become cramped inside of you, until you choke on your own feelings. Every flower you cough up is something you’ve felt, but refused to say.
The whole “dying” thing is intended to be more symbolic especially. You’re killing off bits and pieces of yourself and how you feel, because you’re afraid to express yourself.
It’s not really supposed to be, “The one I love doesn’t love me back, and I’m dying from it.” Rather, it’s more along the lines of, “Repressing your emotions is bad for you, and it’s better and healthier to express them freely, even when it’s scary.”
Which is to say that, one, the cure for the disease should be telling the person that you are in love with how you feel. How the other person feels about the person afflicted should have nothing to do with it, as the trope is meant to be about feeling your emotions unapologetically.
And that, two, it’s not an inherently romantic trope. Obviously, it has romantic applications, but it can be written for any situation where a character is hiding how they truly feel. This can include a refusal to address a specific trauma, a desire to indulge in something that they’re ashamed of, and even really practical things, like wanting to ask one’s boss for a higher position.
Although (as an aromantic person myself) I don’t agree with this conclusion about the trope, this application would also avoid people calling it arophobic. When the thing killing the character is a refusal to be honest with themselves, rather than an unrequited love, it’s on nobody’s hands but their own to save their life.
There are a ton of ways that this interpretation of the hanahaki disease could be applied in new and interesting ways in fanfiction, and I’d love to read what things people could come up with!
I need to process the stuff I saw in the Xenoblade 3 DLC trailer, I’ll spoiler it all just to be safe.
There’s six party members we know of for the DLC. They’re Matthew, A, Nikol, Glimmer, Shulk, and Rex. We also see Na’el (I think that’s the right spelling?), Alvis, and Riku.
-Matthew is probably N’s great-grandson, with the old guy we saw get killed by N in the trailer being his grandpa/N’s son we saw in the flashbacks. Probably Founder Vandham. He punches people, kinda looks like Mr. Xenogears, part of me wants him in Smash. He’s an attacker, makes sense.
-A has some kind of connection to Alvis. She has an earring that looks like his core crystal, the silver hair, class name seems to be Monado Fencer, and her name is A. She’s probably Consul A, outfit looks like it has elements from Alvis’s outfit and I’m seeing a bit of M’s outfit in there too. She’s a healer, didn’t expect that.
-Nikol is probably Shulk and Fiora’s son, but like Mio he’s not the original, just one of many incarnations of him throughout however long Aionios has been going on for. Probably Founder Ortiz. He’s a defender, we’ll get back to that.
-Glimmer is probably Rex and Pyra’s daughter, and another Aionios incarnation like Mio and Nikol. She has a very Pneuma hairstyle and the green core crystal, I’m also getting Lora vibes for some reason. Probably Founder Rhodes. She’s a healer, seems about right.
-Shulk’s back, he grew his hair out and lost an arm. He’s also a defender now, so lots of Dunban inspiration and maybe passed that down to his kid Nikol. He’s the mentor to Founder Reid but there’s no sign of them anywhere.
-Rex is also back, but he lost an eye. He’s an attacker and he mentioned some meme lines in the trailer, hopefully he’ll tell us the fifth rule of the salvager’s code. He’s the mentor to Founder Cassini, but we also don’t see them anywhere.
-Na’el seems to be an NPC from what we’ve seen. She’s probably Founder Doyle, making her Matthew’s sister. I think it’s lame that Matthew and Na’el look so similar to their great grandparents who were the same gender as they are, like give Matthew the core crystal or Na’el the blue eyes just SOMETHING.
-Alvis is here, he looks so pale get this man to a doctor. He’s got the Zanza-looking wings and still has the core crystal.
-Riku is here for some reason, and I don’t think Nopon are part of the cycle. Why is he here.
The Founders: -Known: Vandham (Matthew), Doyle (Na’el), Rhodes (Glimmer), Ortiz (Nikol) -Unknown: Cassini, Reid, mysterious 7th founder
I’ve seen some people say that A is either the 7th founder or possibly Shulk/Rex’s student, just hard to be sure since we don’t know what those 3 looked like.
With Mio and Glimmer, the only Rex kid we’re missing is Mythra’s. Really hope we get to see them. Since we also see people with the Ontos and Pneuma core crystals, maybe we’ll get lucky and see someone with the Logos crystal yes I know Malos died but anything’s possible.
There’s another thing in the trailer I wanna talk about, and the weird part is that I’ve seen literally no one talk about it.
This is Na’el/Founder Doyle, probably the sister of the DLC’s main protagonist Matthew. And here she is, looking like a member of Moebius with the outfit and mask, including THE ONTOS CORE CRYSTAL. WHY DOES SHE HAVE THIS. WHAT IS THE LINK BETWEEN HER, A, AND ALVIS. WHY DOES SHE LOOK LIKE SHE’S PART OF MOEBIUS. WHAT IS GOING ON.
I like stupid Nintendo games and other JRPGs. Call me Brim.
