My friends convinced me to play Xenoblade and as a Zelda fan, I really enjoy it! Idk if you guys can tell who's my favorite.

I beat Xenoblade X DE. I'll get to 100% survey eventually but beating Chapter 13 is good enough for now. Very spoilerly thoughts below.

I'm still not sure how I feel about the new ending. We spent all this time on Mira and then we just have to leave and find another planet because Mira's getting destroyed. All of Mira's mysteries (the auto translation, how the humans are still alive after the Lifehold got wrecked, Lao coming back, why no one can leave, L's people, the presence of a Telethia, J-bodies, probably more I'm forgetting) are just left to never be answered or just "it's because of the Ares" (also they forgot that the Ares is supposed to be a tandem skell). Maybe if this was a proper sequel instead of a bonus chapter they could've done more and gotten around to answering some questions before leaving Mira.

I do really like Volitaris and the final segment where you're searching for your party members and the spears to weaken Void. I think you can just rush to Void without weakening it or getting anyone back (especially if you have the Ares 90 like I did), but I wanted to explore and didn't want to leave anyone behind. It was nice getting to talk to everyone one last time too, I like most of BLADE. Al letting you pilot the Ares was another cool moment, don't know why Lao's ghost was there though (still feels weird knowing he's actually dead, spent a decade thinking he was alive). I'm not sure what's up next for the cast of X, I saw the planet and thought "holy shit it's the planet from Future Redeemed go fuck yourselves Saga fans the blue light isn't KOS-MOS" but then I saw it had a ring which the FR planet doesn't so I don't think they'll be interacting with anyone from the numbered games universe yet. Sure Al has his connection to the Ares which is powered by the Conduit but it left 2's universe so who knows where that thing is now.

Happy XDE exists though, it's still one of my favorite games despite it's flaws and it's no longer stuck on a whole different console.

Been playing Xenoblade X DE while my computer's busted, having a good time. It's great to be back on Mira, there's a lot of quality of life changes (follow ball works now and changing party members/grinding affinity is a lot easier). Have some screenshots before I go back into the void.

With the Xenoblade X Definitive Edition coming out soon, I've been revisiting The "Sketchy" Cross Battle Arts Requests (but with less sketchy) drawings. I'm doing some practice ones since it's been juuust a few years since I last looked at Xenoblade X armour but I'm excited to do these! (Oh how I've missed and cried over the armour and weapons, my lovely details!) I think they'd be both a fun raffle/limited selection event(s?) and a cool commission option too! Still figuring out the pricing cause it's a little different from what I'm offering now, so it'll be a separate option to pick from.

Luckily I still have my Wii U so if there's stuff that's specific to that version I can go back and reference it. (Or you know, if I'm not far enough into the DE for accessing arts and gear.) Raffle wise, could maybe hold one like at one month and then every few months after? That depends on workload and for how long I'm into XCX but so far I've been really enjoying it, so I'd love to offer it from time to time if I can!

What is bro cooking

Nintendo of America made some tweets about the new characters in XDE. Here's the one about Liesel (the Hraesvelg pilot).

No pronouns specified for them here, I'm willing to bet that Liesel's nonbinary. Tweets about Juniper and A from 3 never used pronouns for them, and we ended up with they/them Juniper and no pronouns "Ontos was meant to stand somewhere between" A. And posts about other characters do use gendered pronouns (like Neilnail below), it's not like they avoid pronouns for everyone.

So I found this character sorter for Xenoblade characters. It's pretty neat, has plenty of filters and even has options to include people from Xenogears and Xenosaga. Can take a while though, I spent over an hour on mine.

These are my top 20. I know it shows 22 characters but I'm combining the Shulks and Alvis/A. Excluded characters from Gears, Saga, and Torna since I haven't played those yet. I'd say mine's pretty close, wouldn't change much in the top 20 and the bottom 2 being Tora and Tatsu is perfect.

Logically I really should keep working on Colony Delta stuff, but I'm thinking about completely new colonies.

Known Keves Colonies: 0, 4, 5, 8, 9, 11, 13, 14, 15, 16, 18, 20, 22, 23, 29, 30

Known Agnus Colonies: Gamma, Delta, Zeta, Eta, Theta, Iota, Lambda, Mu, Rho, Sigma, Tau, Chi, Omega

A new Kevesi colony could just have any number. The Greek letters that haven't been used for Agnian colonies are Alpha, Beta, Epsilon, Kappa, Nu, Xi, Omicron, Pi, and Upsilon. Heck, these new colonies could use the same names if it's set in a different time period than the main game or Future Redeemed, as existing ones since names get reused, Nikol and Glimmer are from older incarnations of colonies 5 and Gamma.

Anyway someone remind me to think about this after I come back from sleep and working on college stuff.

If more people played X Lao would easily win this poll. I know you guys like that type of character.

More Colony Delta stuff before I go to bed

-Ulrich's a wind Blade, so I'm thinking about making him slightly bat-like (a lot of wind Blades in 2 were bird like so why not give him traits of another flying animal) or something involving clouds.

-Thea's an electric Blade. Found out the marks left by lightning strikes are called Lichtenberg figures and they look cool (thankfully the one image of that on a person on the wikipedia page isn't gruesome), could make her ether lines have that pattern. Isurd does have the prominent ether lines as a Blade trait though so who knows, but Thea needs some kind of electric trait.

-As for when the Colony Delta questline happens, earliest it can start is after fighting O and P in Pentelas since it starts with Thea and the others wanting to avenge Cammuravi. Still unsure if Colony Delta would be located in Millick Meadows or the Syra Hovering Reefs, if it's the latter then the Ouroborus gang could easily run into Delta right after O and P since the Keves Castle section happens right after that. Thea's ascension quest would happen sometime after Cammuravi's hero quest, since it's about her and the others in Delta meeting his current incarnation.

-This whole project needs a name. Thought about incorporating Cammuravi's title but his full title is Smoldering Cammuravi which is kinda lame, he deserved something cooler. Only other thought is Fire and Lighting because those are the elements of Cammuravi and Thea but again, could be cooler.

So three of the people in Colony Delta are Blades. I know most Blades in Xenoblade 3 are just kind of generic and don't really show any connections to the Blade elements from 2 (I think the only exceptions are Sena, Nimue, and Cammuravi). I gave the Delta Blade trio elements because I think it'd be cool but I'm not sure how to show that in their designs.

Thea: She's the main OC in this project so she really needs to stand out like the heroes in game. She's an electric Blade. I've heard lightning can leave some neat patterns where it strikes so that could be used as the pattern for her ether lines, but I'm afraid of seeing how those marks would look on real people since I'm worried those images might look too gruesome (I'm weak).

Hilda: She's a dark Blade. Thinking about giving her some kind of space theme, but I don't have much more than that.

Ulrich: He's a wind Blade. Looked at Blades from Xenoblade 2 for inspiration and like half of the wind Blades there aren't even close to looking human. Some bird traits would be the easy thing to do but that might make him look too much like a High Entia.

Colony Delta things

Working on more Colony Delta stuff since it can't just be Thea. Everyone has names, ages, genders, and roles at least. Decided Delta would focus on Attackers so there's more of them than Healers or Defenders.

People who just kinda exist right now

Artair, 5th term male Ardanian. Healer, weapon undecided.

Carina, 9th term female Leftherian. Attacker, uses a greatsword.

Hilda, 8th term female dark Blade. Attacker, weapon undecided.

Ianto, 10th term male Gormotti. Attacker, weapon undecided.

Larkin, 6th term male Indoline. Defender, weapon undecided.

Mae, 4th term female Urayan. Attacker, weapon undecided. One of Delta's off-seers along with Gaila.

Nensen, male Nopon. Doesn't fight but still part of Delta.

Osbert, 9th term male Urayan. Defender, uses a flail.

People who have something going on

Gaila, 10th term female Indoline. Healer, weapon undecided. One of Delta's off-seers along with Mae. Since she's on her last term, she wants to teach Mae as much as she can before her Homecoming. Thinking that a sidequest could end with Gaila's Homecoming but I'm not sure.

Rhian, 6th term female Gormotti. Healer, weapon undecided. Thea's lieutenant and closest friend. Has a big crush on Thea but never does anything because soldiers don't really know how love works.

Ulrich, 8th term male wind Blade. Attacker, weapon undecided. Gets into arguments with Thea often since while they both want to continue Cammuravi's legacy, they can't agree on how that should be done.

Also thinking about who would inherit Thea's class. Instantly ruled out Noah and Mio since they inherit more classes than everyone else (Noah gets 5, Mio gets 4, and everyone else gets 3). Thinking of ruling out Eunie too since she already inherits an Agnian Defender class. That leaves Lanz, Sena, and Taion. None of them inherit any Defender classes at all, but Lanz does start out as one. Taion is the one who inherits Cammuravi's class so there's something there. Sena and Cammuravi both seem to be fire blades so maybe she reminds Thea of Cammuravi or something? Class inheritor always seems to be the person who interacts with the hero the most even so I guess it really comes down to who would have an interesting dynamic with Thea.

Thinking about Xenoblade OC stuff again, and I'm thinking about Kevesi/Agnian soldiers becoming traitors and joining the opposing nation. Is it even possible? I have no idea, the closest we have is Shania who wanted to become part of the cycle, but we don't find out if she'd be part of Keves (since her ancestors are from Xenoblade 1) or Agnus (she was affiliated with them after defecting). I just think it'd be neat having someone who's clearly from the Xenoblade 1 world be part of Agnus, it's good sidequest material too. Either their current incarnation is the traitor, or a previous one switched sides and the current one has been part of Agnus from when they were born.

Thinking about Xenoblade as usual. Gonna put up a spoiler warning for 2 just in case.

We never see the left leg or arm of the Bionis in Xenoblade 1. The right leg has Colony 9 and Gaur Plain, and the right arm is Valak Mountain, but we just never see what's on the left limbs. I wanna see what's over there.

The Siren model kit of all things mentions that there's two other towers besides Rhadamanthus/the World Tree, Aeacus and Minos. It's possible that there's life around those two as well. Who knows what's out there.

For fun, here’s the order I played through Xenoblade (do not do this):

-Started with X of all things because I thought it looked cool. It’s the odd one out, with a bigger focus on side content, a customizable avatar, giant robots you can control, and almost everyone has an American accent (they’re canonically from America it’s fine). Also Shulk and Fiora’s voice actors are voice options for the protagonist, neat.

-Played 1 and it’s sidestory next when it came out on Switch, very good time.

-Played 2 after that, I skipped it when it first came out because reasons and forced myself to play through it because 3 got announced. Nia, Zeke, and being blessed by the gacha gods and summoning KOS-MOS got me through 2. I still haven’t finished the DLC.

-3 and it’s DLC after that, both are very good. I’ve heard the DLC has a lot of references to some older games the devs made but I don’t have those.

I’d recommend starting with 1 and then 2, there’s some cool stuff near the end of 2 that hits harder if you’ve played 1. X can go anywhere after 1 since it’s the closest gameplay-wise and X has some references to 1.

A BREIF GUIDE TO STARTING XENOBLADE

okay, firstly, xenoblade refers to 4 video game. Xenoblade Chronicles 1, X, 2, and 3. They're really good and introspective and you should play them. but its not that simple.

1, 2, and 3 are all on Nintendo Switch. X is on WiiU, so its okay to skip that one if you dont have the console. X is also a little wierd. It's completely different and futuristic, so even though it was released between 1 and 2, play it after those. Maybe even after 3.

The issue is where to start.

You can start with 1 or 2. Most people start with 1, naturally. I started with 2.

The case for starting with 1 goes as follows:

It was the first released

It works perfectly as a standalone if you don't want to continue after it (even though you probably will want to)

The case for starting with 2:

slightly more lore relevance, pulls u in more

get it over with bc its kinda wierd and oversexualized and Rex's voice direction oh lawd

my personal play order recommendation is 2 (and maybe dlc prequel sidestory), 1 (and included sidestory), X if you have a WiiU, 3, 3's dlc. You can swap 2 and 1, but meh.

The dlc for Xenoblade Chronicles 3 is important because of the Future Redeemed Sidestory. It's so important both Protags from 1 and 2 come back, along with Computer God from 1.

and then when you're inevitably confused afterwwards, either come crawling back to me (probably in tears. you will cry) or go to Luxin on youtube. have fun, play xenoblade, live laugh lacerate.

Working on Xenoblade OC lore once again

I really want to flesh out Colony Delta so it’s not just about Thea.

Location: We have no idea where Delta actually is, and it needs to go somewhere. Currently planning on having it be located in Millick Meadows (Aetia region) or the Syra Hovering Reefs (Keves Castle region, if Colony 15 can exist so close to Agnus Castle then Delta can be near Keves Castle). Might change if I get a better idea or we get some official info on where Delta is. I can’t remember if we saw Delta’s Ferronis at any point like in the flashback to Cammuravi’s fight with Ethel but if there’s no official design for it I really like the idea of it being some kind of serpentine dragon.

Characters: Did a bit of research into how many named NPCs are in each colony to find a good amount of other characters to include in Delta. There’s one lieutenant, two off seers, and eight other soldiers for a total of 11 NPCs in Delta. No idea where to even begin with naming any of them, the only Agnian NPC name I can remember is Foots, which is a weird name and I can’t unhear the accent Noah’s VA did for him when streaming Xenoblade 3. Still not the worst name in all of 3 though, Sena named some poor kid Biffteen. The Consul was also an issue since most of them die in other questlines, could’ve just made them Consul A but I did something different. Fiona’s Ascension quest involve finding notes from Consul I, which mention that there’s 26 Consuls, one for each letter of the alphabet. It’s possible for Consul I to die before the Consul S seen in game joins Moebius, so there had to have been another Consul S. And that’s Delta’s Consul because nothing can stop me.

do you think if we told the people who like jin from 2 and n from 3 about [REDACTED] that we could convince them to play x, because there's some similarities there

When the idea of a Xenoblade spinoff comes up, it’s usually in the form of a Warriors game. And yeah, that’d be cool and I’d spend 500 hours on it. But I like the idea of a racing game, just because I think there’s potential for cool courses and these characters deserve a chance to just have fun. Anyways Nintendo/Monolith please consider making Xenokart real.

Xenoblade 1:

Vehicles from this game could be modified versions of the mobile artillery and Face Mechon units.

Course Ideas: Tephra Cave, Bionis Leg, Satorl Marsh, Eryth Sea, Alcamoth, Sword Valley, Fallen Arm, Agniritha, Bionis Interior, Memory Space

Xenoblade X:

Skells already have a pseudo car mode, and also regular cars are here. Also time travel cars exist too.

Course Ideas: NLA, Talon Rock, Nopon Braidbridge, Divine Roost, around the Yawning Giant, Lake Ciel, the general O’rrh Sim area, White Phosphor Lake, Mount M’gando

Xenoblade 2:

I got nothing for Xenoblade 2 inspired vehicles.

Course Ideas: I guess just the titans, along with the inside of the World Tree and the First Low Orbit Station? I think you should be able to ride on that ring around the planet connected to the First Low Orbit Station too.

Xenoblade 3:

Levnises are the vehicles here.

Course Ideas: Alfeto Valley, Eagus Wilderness, Great Cotte Falls, Maktha Wildwood, the City, Origin

There are probably other good course ideas, but I don’t remember too much of 2′s environments and since areas in 3 are hybrids of areas from 1 and 2 I don’t want to repeat things too much. Expecting X content is also unrealistic but I’m biased and the environments are cool and unique. If you guys have ideas for courses, vehicles, character rosters, or whatever, feel free to share them.
