You know, I often find myself coming back to this comic, and I believe it's because this is probably my favorite iteration of The Lamb within the entire Fandom. This version has something that most of the others seem to lack on a fundamental level that sets it apart, and that's a real sense of self-awareness and maturity.
Don't misunderstand, I get most people enjoy the idea of having a Chaotic Evil Lamb for their self-inserts as it fits with the theme of the game. However, because most artists tend to follow this mentality of the silly victim, the majority tend to lack a true nuance that feels interesting for me personally. @circuscountdowns and a few others I may mention in the future, really know how to show growth and experience without making their Lamb Lawfully Altruistic. A sense of selfishness, but a desire to be better stemming from past pain and longing.
This even extends to their relationship with Narinder, which is by far my favorite in the Fandom as a whole. What sets them apart from most is that their Lamb geninuely cares for Narinder and seeks help and care for the God. Narinder isn't used as the butt of jokes, nor does @circuscountdowns seek to validate their Lamb by unjustly describing Narinder as someone who lied and betrayed them. Yes, Narinder forced Lamb down their path, but the Lamb is just as guilty and they do no shy away from this fact. It makes their growth all the more honest, believable and wholesome because they're both broken creatures who have wronged each other, but overtime grow to help the other overcome the accumulated trauma and I fucking LOVE it.
All in all, for me personally, this is the gold standard for the relationship dynamic between Narinder and Lamb. They're not Good Creatures but neither are misrepresented with fallacies. They're hurt and isolated creatures, wronged by the Bishops who've found love and comfort in one another, despite the wounds they've inflicted on each other, thus righting their personal wrongs.
I'm sorry if this is too personal but did you had/have any art trauma caused by art teachers in school? And by trauma I mean some aversion to try learning one thing, because art teacher was just a dick. I have something like that with shading and it still holds after 6 years as a adult and I want to break it, but I cannot force myself to try it again and this holds my proggres as a ,,artist" and that's make me smad. I'm sorry once again if this is too personal or too hard to answer
Yup I did! Tho idk if I can call it "trauma" tbh
Oop I kinda went on a rant sorry lol
I studied ceramics in uni but I did have nude art classes and classes that required detailed art projects.
Although most of my uni time was wasted thanks to covid, I did get harrassed by a few of my classmates and my teacher in my last year.
My classmate had said that my art level wasnt good enough to be in this uni and my teacher yelled at me in the middle of class for like a week or two because I refused his ideas for my projects (he had given me the ok on the design before he changed his mind 180 and started pointing and laughing at me with my classmates while i worked on my ceramic project)
I eventually had to give up resisting because I wanted to pass the class and let him do whatever he wanted. (He legit just put clay on top of my design, smoothed it out and that was it in fact here is the design he gave me the ok to, the middle of my project and the way he stopped me)
After this I basicly didnt do anything more for his class, minimum effort. My days in Uni weren't all bad thank god but I was extremely unmotivated.
After I graduated, I didnt really draw or create much until my love for drawing rekindled with Cult of The Lamb! I love this game and Narilamb too much lmao-
But as for something similar to your experience I would say that I used to play the bass and electro guitar in highschool and we had to perform one day which I chickened out from that resulted in the music teacher getting angry at me. I dont play the guitar anymore :/ But my love for music hasnt died and I am using my love for art diffrently!
I would say that even if certain experiences deviates you from some topics, branches of art or people, dont let it kill your whimsy and ideas. You can always try out diffrent things to find something fun like diffrent styles of drawing, shading or no shading, diffrent mediums like digital or traditional, new or old techniques, weird colors or designs. You can always try out whats popular to see if you like it or not as well. You can also consume a lot of art media, educational or entertainment.
There is so many creative things you can try out, you dont have to be stuck on the past and that one shading idea your teacher tried to teach you Δ±r tried to force onto you. I think you can go back to it after trying out many diffrent things to see if it was the technique or the teacher that ruined it for you.
If it was the technique, there are many MANY diffrent ones that you can enjoy!
If it was the teacher, Im not a therapist so idk what would be the right thing to say but healing takes time, sometimes the things people say never leaves you and sometimes you forget it 5 minutes later. You are a person with the ability to change, learn and grow. The only thing that is in your way is your 'will'. If you are willing to change, even if takes a long time, you will change! But if you dont want to, then no one can force you.
Healing and moving on is hard but not impossible. Dont let an asshole teacher get in the way of your growth β€οΈ
Hell fucking yeah!
Now THIS is something I'm annoyed about when it comes to other members of the fandom when dealing with Narinder after the "Spare" option. Yes, Narinder would be very angry with Lamb and probably try to kill them at some point, but never does anyone show Narinder losing all sense of hope and drive for existing and choosing to just, end it all himself.
The guy was jealous of his siblings and later betrayed by them, bound and sealed in his own domain for 1,000 years after having his arms damaged in their battle. He's forced to wait alone with two kits and no one to really converse with on their own level for all that time, only to be given a new beacon of Hope for his dream in the form of the lamb.
Desperate, he offers his powers and strength to his chosen, open to be freed from his binds and once his dream is within his grasp once more, he's betrayed by the very person whom he gave his power too, having the rest of his power taken, his kids killed in front of him, and he's forced into a mortal form where he has to watch someone else who betrayed him, live out his dream, in front of him for all eternity.
This should fundamentally break him and since Death would be a release, if Narinder couldn't win his power back, get away from the Lamb, taking his own life would become his only option. A guy like him would rather not exist, than endure the hell of watching the person who stole his children, his powers and his dream, live the life he wanted to achieve. I Wish more Artists touched upon this more.
.... Well... Off to a fantastic start aren't we? prev / first / next
Alright, since Madam Mel has goated me into revealing my extremely amateurish thoughts, here goes.
I've had my suspicions on how Narinder was able to get a hold of the Last Lamb, and how he was even able to bring it back to life in the first place. It comes with too many plotholes that, thankfully the game leaves open to interpretation so here are my theories and One I think Mrs @melled42 is gunning for.
The first Theory being that Shamura sent the last Lamb to Narinder either intentionally as a show to break Narinder's dream of returning and to accept his fate as being bound to Hell's limbo, or unintentionally as a last way to give Narinder a chance to free himself and repent for his actions of slaughtering unwillingly innocents and to punish himself for the actions he committed against his most favorite sibling. There are words Shamura uses that alludes to the idea that he may have purposely given Narinder the Lamb, the same way he gave Narinder Aym and Ba'al, probably due to how damaged his mind was and how he drifts in and out because of his brain damage. I can go more into this theory because its a personal one of mine and part of my headcanon
However, I believe Melled42 is going for my second theory and one I hope isn't the case (Game-Canonwise) but..... Narinder may have killed the Lamb himself, directly in order to get direct control of the creature's life, to will it for his own purpose. I came to this conclusion because Narinder's ultimate goal was to control Life AND Death, and he never fully achieved the goal, because his siblings stopped him before he could break such a fundamental law of nature. Death is only supposed to go 1 way, so for Narinder to even have the power to perverse such a Primordial Law means he had to have had a direct connection and influence over Lamb (in this case Ewen's) death, to control their aspect of Life and thus, create a creature not bound by the Laws and Limitations Narinder actively sought to break.
All this is to say, the theory is that Narinder intentionally killed Ewen himself to give him life that bounds Ewen to Narinder through the power of the Red Crown. This would explain why Lamb can detach its head and still remain alive and aware, retain all their powers and abilities without aging physically, while also exhibiting God-Like effects such as the black blood or ichor if you will, that leaks from a God's wounds. Lamb wasn't killed by the Headsmen, he was killed somehow stealthily through an act by Narinder himself.
Its extremely twisted, yet right up Narinder's alley. I'm against it personally but fuck it would fit if this is what Melled42 is going for. That the twisted mentality the two of them tend to feed into one another, the act that started all of this, was Narinder killing Lamb to claim their life and soul for himself, before his siblings could get the job done and ruin his plans. I like this, and HATE it because it creates a full circle moment that only adds to the selfish depravity of their natures as a whole, that due to the solitary existence both were forced to endure, the empty, meaningless deaths they were both part of and directly influenced with their actions, connects them both on an extremely primal level where only they and they alone, can understand stand each other completely.
I wanted to keep this grenade tucked away but Madam Mel asked so.... here it is. If I'm wrong, I fully accept it because even I see the cracks in my theory but damnit..... brain is going wild with ideas.
An explanation for the wound on Ewen's, my lamb's neck. I've had this headcannon since first seeing the bishops but it kind of took a life of its own
When you're a power hungry controlling monster but they're way too into it, even for you
patreons got this early
πππππππ
Quite a bit to unpack here but... does give a bit more insight to the "never let you go" line used in the first lore-focused comic. Also explains why Narinder gets his head cut off as well later... somewhat. Wow. π«
Bet Narinder is REEEEAAALLY wishing he read Ewen's mind when he had the chance before. Good gravy π Imma need more info before I can go anymore indepth than this. Don't need to make anymore incorrect assessments.

This is a very cool interpretation of events
First meetings, or Shamura collects siblings like PokΓ©mon Cards.
Also I headcannon that exposure to the crowns or sin through the crown, causes a physical corruption of sorts, like the bishops' height or black in place of white in their eyes.
Is lamb a boy or a girl? Just wanna know
they are a god
That's it. Game over. The best joke has been spawned.
The Goat: βI think EWE are awesome!β
The Lamb: βAnd I think youβre the GOAT!β
And Narinder is far too tired to deal with all these SHEEP-nanigans.
Dig this emotionally and mentally healthy shit right here. Something so much of the fandom lacks. The ability to actually sit down and communicate. All their problems aren't fixed, but one step forward is so much better than watching artist have their two characters just spin their wheels like a god damn hamster.
Well freaking done.
I temporarily revived my dead blog just to post this so hi XD
I've seen SO MANY talented people making COLT art and I love admiring/reading them so I thought I should contribute too and not keep it to Twitter only
This all started with the idea of drawing Lamb in an extravagant white fleece, then I wanted to make it Narilamb, then this happened
The Fabulous Fumbled Fingers Feline has been dubbed. Cute atmosphere I gotta admit but the sax made me laugh my ass off lol
Hello everyoneeee!!!!!!!!!
I'm so excited to finally share this comic dub done by the talented @alyexvaexva !!!!! He put so much -and I mean so much- effort into this video!!! Please go and check it out ! <3 Hope you guys enjoy it as much as me!
The voice actors are Lore_weaver (For Narinder) and AylexVa (For Lambert)
Ramblings under the cut!
Working with him was such a delight honestly, I used to watch comic dubs waay back so I knew about them but I had never seen how they were made. So watching Alex voicing and editing this video has made me appreciate the amount of work, dedication and love people put into them!
We had some hiccups here and there because I wasn't thinking about my comic becoming a comicdub and didn't know about the process so there were stuff that needed to be fixed here and there but it was totally worth it!
I'm so happy with how it came out! Anyway- that's all! Thank you <3
Absolutely love this page
I find myself coming back to this every so often and the idea of Narinder struggling with clasps, buckles, and harnesses is now my permanent headcanon. π€£ππ€£ππ€£π
I mean it makes sense. After having his arms damaged in the battle with his siblings and being chained by his wrists in an eternal void for 1,000+ years, i imagine he'd lose precise motor function in his hands. So from now on, every AU for me, he's got Fumble Fingers and I love it! π
WHAT.
Lmao watch him wobble his way outta there
