This is fanart I did for NinjagoGSD’s fic on Ao3; Murderer, Monster, Villian. It has quickly became one of if not my favourite fanfic I have ever read.

The fanfic is pretty dark but the prologue is the worst that it gets. It's a really good fic and if graphic depictions of torture don’t deter you, I suggest giving it a read.

So yesterday I found out that a friend of mine from high school who is a 22yo white cishet right-leaning Roman Catholic dude who is currently serving in the military watched all 15 seasons of supernatural. Apparently he liked the guns and the fighting and he also felt like Sam and Deans’ relationship with each other and with their father reflected a lot of his own experiences growing up with 5 brothers and a military father who was gone more often than not. When he started watching, his fav character was Sam but by the end, that had shifted to Dean although he disliked the fact that Dean was, and this is a direct quote, “such a whore.” I asked him if he liked the ending and he said that it was okay, that Dean’s death was “bullshit” but that the brothers got to enter heaven together and that’s what was most important. I additionally asked him what he thought of Castiel and he said that he thought his character was boring and he disliked it when the show tried to make Cas the center of episodes. He had absolutely no memory of what happened in 15x18 and had to look up the synopsis again to remember that Cas died. **********ADDITIONAL FACTS ABOUT MY FRIEND THAT MAKE ALL OF THIS ABSOLUTELY HYSTERICAL: we met through ballet, one of his other favorite shows is Hannibal, he is an absolutely lethal jujitsu fighter, he has no idea what tumblr is, he works on motorcycles and vintage cars for fun which his dad taught him how to do, and when he was 18, after his gf at the time cheated on him, he decided to give up on women and he dated a gay friend of his for 3 months. Apparently he figured out pretty quickly that he was “definitely straight” but he kept dating/having sex with his friend/boyfriend until they both moved away because “he was a genuinely good dude” and he “didn’t have to catch so it was fine.” Yes he did suck dick. as true as the jokes about “everyone wants to rewrite ninjago” are i feel like smthn people forget when complaining about the inconsistencies of the show is that…. it wasn’t planned? it’s not like most other animated shows lately - it didn’t start with a deeply fleshed out world or a meticulously designed pitch bible with grandiose plans for a long-term story or character arcs. the ninja don’t originally get their powers from heredity because they weren’t hereditary powers yet. the magic system doesn’t make sense bc they literally just made it up as they went! they go back and forth on stuff like whether non-elementals can learn spinjitzu bc it’s a collaborative piece of media made by people with vastly different levels of control over the story, the animation, the sets, etc. that varied over the course of the series. it’s totally understandable and exciting to see so many people reworking the early stuff with the lore and logic later seasons introduced but i personally feel that… if you’re doing that. you need to understand why the show is like that instead of writing it off as being bad and shitty. it was working with what it had. it’s only what it is now because of that awkward troubleshooting phase, not in spite of it

Holy, I haven’t been to church in years, so I don’t know much about what happens after you turn 18, but I know about the Missionaries, for two whole years, I had no contact nor had any family really say how my cousin was doing during his mission.

From ages 3-11 your in Primary, once 12-18 you are separated into Young Men’s or Young Woman’s, then once 18 you’re put into the Aaronic priesthood if male and the Relief Society if female. There was also Seminary, from ages 14-18 where you got up at the crack of dawn every weekday during the school year to go to a church or seminary building, a religious educational program.

There’s also Baptism, which happens when you’re 8, you’re dressed in white and you and a man who has the priesthood, recites a prayer to the T, and then you are submerged completely in water (limbs, hair and clothing) to receive the Holy Ghost, (some people I had known said they say they felt the Holy Ghost), if there are any mistakes in the prayer or your not completely submerged, the baptism is repeated till preformed correctly. In addition to the baptizer, two other members witness the baptism to ensure that it is performed properly. And you get your first bible. (Or at least that happened with my siblings and I.) There’s also baptism for the dead, where a living person receives the rite on behalf of a deceased person, who weren’t baptized in life.
