looking back on my childhood there are so many things that make so much sense from a nonhuman perspective. I have horrible memory, but I do know that I was absolutely convinced that I was adopted growing up. I never felt like I was a true part of the family that I belonged to. I never felt a sense of community with people.
now it’s obvious that this feeling arose from the fact that I’m not human, and that I am a changeling. I belong to another realm of existence.
there also comes my obsession with all things fantasy and fairy tales. One of the first books I ever got for myself was a huge collection of the grimms’ fairy tales. I especially loved animal stories. I identified with them so much, and it’s no wonder why.
there are a lot more examples of my behaviors being very off putting to humans, but I’m mainly focusing on my internal feelings in this post.
anyway I’m curious if any other nonhumans have had similar realizations about their childhoods.
Why do I have to pick one name. Why can't I have dozens of names that people use interchangeably like I'm some kind of ancient wizard
sensory issues be like *turns up phone brightness to hear better* *turns off light to see better* *socks don’t have to match but they MUST be the same length and texture* *washes hands out of no where because they don’t feel clean* *oversensitive to one sense but undersensitive to another, related sense* *unlocks phone to concentrate*
love being a snake shapeshifter because like…there are literally thousands of species, and I could be any of them at any given point. it’s like a huge game of species roulette.
EXACTLY!! Or (in the case of snakes) it’s to make them feel “safer” when in reality snakes want nothing to do with people!! Let them do their work in peace. Not to mention snakes are often beneficial to humans anyway… grr just makes me irritated how stupid humans can be.
I can't even get mad at humans saying absolutely fucking braindead things under videos of mustelids (and animals in general) because at this point I'm amazed at their stupidly.
How do some humans go day to day being so incredibly dumb and clueless about literally any other species around them? Humans really don't deserve to be called the most "intelligent" animal lmao.
